  4. I currently own a pair of Forte II's that have been highly modded with seperate x-over to be made bi-wirable. There is a pair of LaScalas for sale near me that i can audition before buying. Many have said the bass is lacking in the Scalas and i would like any opinions if this is a valid point. I have a M&K MX-105 Dual 12" sub to take up the low end slack. What should i notice either good or bad with the La Scalas as compared to the Forte II's? Are there any tweaks to make the bass better, ive heard a few people say to put them on cinder blocks. Thanks for any help you can give me. Keith M.
  5. I know that Moretite works on Steel horns but does it really have that much of an effect on plastic horns? I currently have a pair of Forte II's and was wondering if it helps plastic horns. Thanks for your response. Also has anyone used any damping on Woofer metal cage as in Dynomat on the outside steel?
  6. Looking for a black pair of Chorus II's. I have a mint pair of Forte II's in light oak i would consider trading also. I prefer black but would consider any other color also.
  7. I currently have a SS system consisting of Sim Audio I-5 Moon 70 wpc integrated amp, AH Njoe 4000 tube cdp, Klipsch Forte II's and 2 M&K V125 12" subs. I have heard so much about tube amps sounding great with Klipsch i would like to try an integrated tube amp. Any suggestions in the $1500 range for new or used would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Just recieved a used pair of Forte II's. Was wondering if any Forte owners had any ideas to tweak them. Also what is the best way to anchor them...i put some spikes on them and it made them sound better. If there are any other ideas i would appreciate your input.
  9. Interesting reply Deang, My wife could not even listen to the RF-3's because they were so bright and now since i have the KLF 20's she listens for hours. Maybe you could explain to her how the RF's arent as bright.
  10. I own a pair of KLF 20's myself and i must say they arent near as bright as the reference series. I had the RF 3's first and have sold them for the KLF 20's. It is a day and night difference between the 2. The 20's sound very warm. As everyone has mentioned earlier, i think the cdp may make a difference. I am currently using the new AH Njoe 4000 tube cdp and it sounds wonderful. By the way i am from Brenham, Texas, if your close your welcome to come by and listen.
  11. I have recently purchased a pair of Klipsch KLF 20's. I am also getting a pair of Forte II's which i have never listened to in a trade. What differences if any will i hear from the Forte's as compared to the KLF 20's? Thanks for your help.
  12. I have a Link Dac III also. Was considering the upsampling also, but found a person who does mods on dacs who is very highly recommended. He will completely go through the circiutry and replace all the stock electronics with high grade. His name is Dan Wright, you can contact him at themorgue.com , he charges $250 for the complete job and he says that it makes a much more improvement than the upsampling. I'm going to send mine to him to have it done, will let you know how it turns out.
  13. I am looking at a Coda-Continuun Unison 200 wpc integrated amp. My question is will that amp be good for Klipsch RF'3s and M&K V125 sub combination? My current system is a Cambridge Audio A3I int. amp at 60 wpc, Cambridge Audio CD4SE cdp with MSB Link Dac III, Cardas crosslink speaker wire and Cardas Quadlink 5C interconnect and above mentioned speakers. What i am really looking for is a better sound quality, the Cambridge has plenty of power but was rather inexpensive. The Coda-Continuum dealer is selling me the Unison for $1375 and the normal price is $2750. I know him well that is why so cheap. Is this amp worth purchasing? Will i get a noticable difference in sound quality by going to a very high end amp. If you have any other suggestions feal free to give them. Thanks for your help. Morg
