  1. Sold half the gear so the rest is for sale. Everything is pretty much mint and have low hours and comes from my downstairs setup. I'll consider shipping some of the smaller items but the large stuff is local only. Location is a 1 hour north of Milwaukee, WI

    $550 shipped 2 RB81s black bookshelfs 9.5/10

$350 Custom tv stand built by cabinet maker with glass shelves, houses the rc64 perfect

    $800 eD a7-350 subwoofer black

    $900 Panasonic 58" Plasma S2 model tv

  2. Talk about diving head first for a starter ht set [Y] now thats the smart way to do it, consider seperates right off the bat if your able to as well instead of a receiver, regardless you should end up delighted

  3. I got the 83s and the 64 from USNRET today.

I need a real subwoofer now.

I'll post pics when I get everything set up. I still need some surrounds. The RS-7s were a bit too big for my walls.
Anyone got some old RS-62s or RS-52s they want to sell me?

    Eagle

Congrats on the 83s, make sure to get a beast of a sub [6]

If the rs7s are to big your in for a problem with 52s or 62s both are quite big and 62s should be about 2x larger than 7s

  4. Netflix isn't to bad except they never seem to add any movies you want to watch like the big blockbuster hits but at least its cheap. Hulu plus is another we use to catch tv series shows. Vudu would be one to try but its a rental based instead of monthly but they do 1080p and higher quality audio. Not sure if anything else out there is worthwhile I gave up looking for now since none offer real content at a reasonable value. Trying to stream blurays your still ahead of the curve which is unfortunate. With broadband connections as fast as they are now we shouldn't be far off from it. Roku is just a box player I don't think they offer anything other than bundling services which your ps3 or xbox360 but its a cheaper solution to having those if you dont want to play disc movies or games.

  5. I thought it was pretty clear..." I definitely would not do it for a 10hr trip, maybe not even a 5hr trip. ". I guess "maybe" should have been "probably". In other words, it definitely is not the deal of the century to be driving 5 - 10hrs for a pair that has cosmetic issues.

I went 17 hrs round trip for mine, thankfully they were flawless as described [Y] and as gas prices go it is the equivilent of making a 5 hour trip now... [:@]

Good luck on striking a deal for the 83s

There are definitely few and far between on the market

  6. Disappointing to watch the nfl's hard stance against the officials, now 4 weeks of rough preseason officiating and now coming into week 3 of more of the same...I really feel sorry for the fans who go sit in these games paying a premium to watch something so elite get turned into a high school officiating match. If we go one more week with this it's safe to say the "integrity" of the game is a bunch of hogwash. Goodell should take a hike.

This plays really only one of a series of horrible calls of the game but this is the moneyshot and it'll be one for the records

  7. I thought this might need some explaining. LOL!!

A radio show based out of Indy called Bob & Tom has various comedians as guests that they also promote across the country. Heywood Banks is one of them and he came up with this diddy about a Jesus statue along I-75 between Cincinnati and Dayton, OH.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0OxLXe5YnQ

I listen to bob and tom frequently and always wondered what the heck this little song was that got played every now and again. Once the first one burned down and it was news worthy it dawned on me, I finally understood what the song was about.

  8. Sorry to hear about the breakin, its to bad they weren't caught in the
act prefarably with a shiny metallic item staring them in the face,
until proper authorities arrive of course...

At least you and your family as well as klipsch are safe [Y]

Last summer we had all of our windows open even at night to cool off the house until one night it got too hot. On this night we closed all the windows and storm windows as well and went to sleep with the air on. About 2 am we heard a loud bang, I woke up and went to check it out figuring it might be the dogs or kids making noise but all were sleeping. I turned lights on in the basement (exposed lower) and kitchen but after seeing nothing went back to sleep. The next morning I saw our screens on 5 windows were cut out and one storm window was pulled off. Even the front door had signs of a breakin attempt. The storm window they pulled off was nailed in place by me to make sure it stayed on no matter what since the track was finicky, my guess is they startled themselves by yanking so hard on it and then ran off after it dropped. I still regret not being awake at the time catch them in the act since I don't typically go to sleep that early. The worst part is that you dont get peace of mind afterwards and question when it will happen again. Alarms are good, Dogs are great, and an Armed Homeowner defending themselves is best!

  9. Look at who and where this "free speech" issue started and let's see if they get away with it....My guess is they will because it evidently isn't against the law to have false propaganda being spread (see my link above) by Religious zealots from our borders even if it causes Religious zealots in other countries to kill Americans...Yelling fire in a theater is not allowed, but this issue is par for the course because we do have freedom of speech, although the ones making it don't understand the power of the Word (or don't care).

I doubt the attack is a direct relation to that foolish movie trailer. If false propaganda was against the law we wouldn't have a single politician left. Looking at what the ambassador did over there its likely a retaliation against him and our efforts, not to mention the date in question. It's to bad we need to have loss of life because we have our noses in everyones backyard and if we are going to have our noses in everybodies backyard we should at least be well enough defended that those individuals involved in the attacks were neutrilized immediatly. You would think in areas that are unstable you would provide a buffer to security...

  10. well you have better deals than we do here, I had a few minutes tonight so I did some quick scans on searchtempest.com

Paradigm dsp-3400 v2 good quality sub for $500 should work great in your setup

    http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/ele/3240651555.html

SVS PB2 PLUS (2 12's downfiring) $600 great sub I had the newer version at one point

    http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/ele/3249991905.html

SVS PC13 ULTRA $850 Should preform great right behind the pb13 ultra version svs's top tier sub, I'd probably take this sub over the other svs since output should be pretty close

    http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/ele/3218959531.html

Rythmik F15 sealed sub $775 not much of a discount, but should be a good preformer none the less

  11. I want to feel it while in an earthquake :). but i see what you are saying, i do currently live in an apartment. But i live over the garages and the walls are surprisingly well insulated. But i do always keep in mind the possible bother i might be to my neighbors. That is currently why i am getting frustrated with my current setup. Because i question if its on, then i go outside and its rumbling a bit to much. I also want to get a sub that will still satisfy a larger room.

The sw-350 is a downward firing sub, could that have something to do with the way its disturbing vibrations while not offering that fulfilling bass i am looking for?

    Appreciate the directed response,
    terry

The sw350 is an 8" sub and is rated to 31hz, this is why your not getting the earthquake vibrations, the klipsch rw12d is usually around 300 as well, id take that first for the 300 dollar mark but its still going to miss out on the real deep bass but hits a budget softly

Now the epik empires and other subs 800-1000 really are in a different league than klipsch subs with exception to usually klipschs high end subs, price/prefoermance still favors the id subs however the sw115 is the only one I would give consideration to if sticking to klipsch is a must.

If you like used gear plenty of people will help you locate something nearby given your location, otherwise only your budget dictates the end result, theres a velodyne hgs-15 in florida for 350 that would be unbeatable for the price if you live down there[Y]

  12. if I'm correct I think denon or their parent company (if they have one) owns marantz and they intend to keep marantz as the higher tier product

if anything they stand to gain more because production costs probably go down and they can get some higher margins on the top tier, seems to work out rather well for these companies since plenty tend to do it, there was some company that even put a oppo 83 chasis guts included into their own bluray player and rebadged it for a couple grand, cant recall which company that was but someone can chime in about it
