  1. Let's see. Firstly, television is 99% 1080i with a few channels such as Fox and ESPN broadcasting in 720p, and all of these signals are compressed. Blu-ray is drastically better. Secondly, simply avoid crap generic players if you're worried about problems such as freezing. Do your homework and buy a reliable machine. Thirdly, DVD DTS and DD are vastly inferior to lossless Blu-ray audio. Even if your equipment is incapable of outputting lossless, you will still hear the advanced DTS/DD HD cores which many people cannot distinguish from the actual lossless stream. Blu-ray is so laughably better than DVD. Make the jump.
  2. Oh yeah man, definitely five Cornwalls eventually. I haven't tried double Heresies. I'm actually not even sure how to go about that. Is it as simple as wiring each speaker into the same center amp?
  3. Hey I have a similar configuration: Cornwall mains, Academy center and Heresy surrounds. Sounds absolutely fantastic. I've also experimented with using a third Heresy as the center channel, but it didn't make enough of a difference to warrant the logistical problems of using a floorstander rather than a traditional center. I'd love to grab some more Cornwalls down the road. [] Can't go wrong with these speakers.
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't integrating a sub be cake? There's no timbre to be concerned about etc. I have a Velodyne VX-10 sub with my Corns, Academy and Heresy configuration. It's a budget 10" that performs very well.
  5. You're looking for the Academy. http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/academy-overview/
  6. The Academy is perfect. And welcome to blissful heritage sound.
  7. The problem only manifests when the speaker is cold. So no, not right now, since I've been jamming for a few hours.
  8. Just opened it up and found everything looking remarkably good, clean and tight. Thanks for the tips.
  9. Never experienced this with the Heresy the Corn replaced. How tight should the screws be?
  10. Got a pair of 79 Corns the other day. They're great, aside from this: the right channel does not output highs at low volumes. It will work after I turn it up a bit, and will continue to work at low volumes thereafter, but I would like to know what the experts think.
  11. I've found the sound very complementary, massive size discrepancy notwithstanding. The Academy pulls its weight well.
  12. I just scored a beautiful pair of 79 Cornwalls. HT is thus Corns R/L, Academy C, and Heresys on surround duty. So far it's been a lot of fun.
