Actually Bill and Steve were fairly good friends. That's one reason why Bill bailed Steve out with 150 million dollar loan. The other reason is if Apple went under the government would go after Bill and bust him up. So Bill got his recycle bin.
JJK
Yes he had to make amends by supporting mac so it didn't look like he was a monopoly. Still this COVID thing brings back the FUD factor in spades.

I could tell you a lot more.... but..... Does anyone know what MS was always accused of doing? Anyone know the term FUD? Seems quite applicable today.

These look like they are about as perfect as you will ever find. I didn't see any chips, dings, or missing veneer. They also appear to be recently oiled / finished. Beautiful.
Yes, very good shape. As you can see from the first pic, I also have other toys but wanted these just to hang on to. Kind of like a heirloom. Cleaned them up a little, oiled up nicely with Watco.
Stuart isn't too far down the coast 🙂

IIWY, I’d attach a photo from the CL listing to your post to make it easy for forum members to see how nice they look, your speakers, not members.
Probably a good idea with some info. Trying to not retype 🙂

Wouldn't need as many mass graves if the older folks that were put back into the care facilities, weren't.
Third world countries with inadequate communications mechanisms or people not knowing enough early on, that's another story. Remember let's all go down town and party.... We're a robust people.... comments such as that didn't help in hot spots in the US.

Yes, tried to take over the world with software. No anti-trust monopoly against MS. He's moved on to bigger and better things.

Of course. Think of that transmitter/receiver sitting within 100 feet of you. They will be able to track your every move 🙂
In reality there should be more examination of a mm wave. As far as cel phone use in general, we probably won't know the outcome for another 30 yrs since they stopped publishing data (even testing) with 4G or maybe LTE.

Here is the full interview. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/22/dr-anthony-fauci-says-staying-closed-for-too-long-could-cause-irreparable-damage.html
I didn't hear him saying anything different than what he said in his senate testimony, in fact very similar to the key points of his opening statement.
Can someone remind me who makes the call on what guidelines are adopted for reopening? Whose call that is? Federal, State, Local?
The point is that he is now stating this. A week ago it sounded like wasn't even for kids going back to school in the fall is a prolonged amount of time. He is now stating we can't stay locked down for a prolonged amount of time. Very little regard for the economy.
We now know better and should be able to minimize the hot spots but only time will tell. If a vaccine comes then great, otherwise we're all going to need to be exposed, testing sickness in exchange for life.
Bottom line is that he is driving this (though policy or through scaring people into submission) and needs to provide a realistic pathway back so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This is nothing he has done in the past.

Fauci is back tracking some on the lock down. Interesting. Saying there will be irreparable damage.
Said keep an eye on him. Wonder why the change..... Be cautious of course.
Didn't sound like he was for any type of coming out until now.

Took a good read of this work. So they looked at the medical records for a select group of covid19 patients and looked for just 2 things, cardiac arrhythmia (ventricular) and deaths. They were able to carve out those patients who were administered chloroquine type drugs from those who did not. They found associations with both indices with being administered the chloroquine drugs.
What I find interesting is that they did not attempt to look at viral loads. Perhaps it is a variable not available worldwide but I’d doubt that since all covid19 tests look for viral loads. Chloroquine type drugs were shown to be effective in directly reducing covid19 viral loads in vitro. And other covid19 studies have correlated viral loads with severity of the disease. One of those was published in Lancers. So viral load would certainly be of interest when studying an antiviral cocktail of drugs....... I’d think.
Generally speaking the paper is being referred to as ‘observational’ and lacking in the ability to determine cause and effect relationships. Plus, I’d have to wonder how diligently 96,000 medical records were reviewed in such a short time frame. It could not have been a deliberate or rigorous investigation.
Well facts are facts and chloroquine still doesn’t seem all that garsh doggone good.
Nope but I'd like to have bird shot vs. an empty gun. There is a big problem with clotting also. Chloroquine is supposed to help with both inflammation and clotting. As you said, cocktail may be the key.

The work looked back at the initial treatment of covid19 patients and attempted to make some sense of the outcomes relative to the application of chloroquine. Keep in mind that they looked at 10’s of thousands of cases from around the globe whose overall care varied a great deal. Essentially they tried to draw conclusive evidence from an uncontrolled study. There are new studies underway that will allow for more pertinent conclusions as they are devised using standardized experimental methods. This Lancet study showing ill effects is not much more accurate than Chinese studies showing positive outcomes. It is ‘sloppy’ data with loads of statistical cleanup methods applied.
That said - it is clear that chloroquine is no covid19 ‘silver bullet’. If it was we’d certainly see loads of proof to that effect.
Not sure there will be a silver bullet. Maybe a bunch of lead ones, but whatever works.

So the Lancet used info across multiple continents (96 thousand plus people, over 14 thousand who were treated with HQ), and made adjustments for different risk factors, and come up with the results. I understand you can lie with stats. Here is the Lancet article on their data crunching:

Brix loves this article because it quantifies the comorbidities. Other information is still out and being evaluated.

I understand but this was an observational study. Would be nice to see a real clinical trial across ages and target levels of infections. That is what is currently proposed and needs to be done.
What happened to all those studies that showed it worked?
Hospitalizations... If you live in the US, they won't test you until you are almost going to the hospital. Little late for the primary use.
Too much politics.
Lancet may think this is great but it is not a broad spectrum, or at least not from a glance at the data.

You think the Lancet is making a politics play?
There are currently studies underway but if you read a number of the articles, they are having problems trying to get people for the studies cause everyone has scared them to death. Too much talk of killing you with a medication that has been used for 65 yrs. If it is used for RA, then it is definitely being used for people who have other auto-immune disorders like Scleroderma which destroys your organs slowly, including your heart. The media has hyped the side effects up so much, it will be hard to get the real clinical trials completed.

Not really unfortunately. This is a politics play. Read all the other reports and dr's that have used it perspectives. Same as a number of other posts with links.
As the previous post, a politics turf war. May the treatment that makes the most money (not for us) and fits the narrative win.

Should be covering and thick, flame protection that UV doesn't penetrate. It definitely doesn't hurt. When those molten metal blobs land on your hands or your sneakers and burn through, It isn't a good day.
