I bought them brand new, and they used to work fine. I just wondered what the warranty period was and if they were still covered. I'm probably going to upgrade from them anyhow, Gonna stick with my Klipsch though
  2. Not sure what happened, but I am using Quintets for my rear channels, and my right rear had no sound, so I tired one of my spare Quintets, and the same thing. Thinking my speaker wire was bad, I replaced that and the same problem. I tried yet another spare, and now it's working fine. Turns out two of the speakers were bad. I no longer have the original boxes or sales receipts and can't even remember what the warranty is. Would I be able to return these without any of that info? The speakers wern't that expensive to begin with, so it's not that important (If it were my Klipsch Sub, then I would be more concerned)

    KSW-12 hum

I was wondering if it's normal for the KSW-12 to have a slight hum as soon as it is plugged into the electrical outlet. It is very slight and you can only hear it when you place your ear directly onto the sub. I am just curious as to why the hum is still there even with the power switch turned off. It seems like all power to the sub would be off when turning the power switch off
  4. Thanks Doug, for the tips. I haven't set the sub up yet. Didn't want to go cutting up all my 12 gauge wire till I was sure I was doing it correctly (setting up the sub correctly, not cutting the wire correctly)
  5. Thanks for the info. I did go and download/print the PDF manual. Quality isn't very good for some reason, but it sure helps
  6. Today I bought a KSW-12 sub, even though my present receiver doesn't have a 'sub out' on it. Do I just run the lest and right speaker connections from the receiver to the sub, then run the speakers off the sub? Also, should speaker wire all be the same length? Like the 2 going to the sub should be same length as each other, and then the 2 from the sub to the speakers should be same length?
  7. Today I got my KSW-12 sub, but the owners manual is terrible. Seems like more than $0.02 cents should have been put into this, considering it's for a $400 speaker. There is a mention of figures 3,4 and 5. Where in the heck are they? They sure weren't in this manual (1 page of English, 6 of other languages, and 2 diagrams, called Figure 1 and 2
  8. no, there were no water stains or soot anywhere to be found How can Ubid.com have access to so may speakers of Klipsch doesn't authorize it?
  9. So I take it that the Klipsch's I bought from Ubid are not covered under warranty? How does Ubid get ahold of so many speakers? A few days ago they had over 500 Quintets for auction
  10. No one mentioned Onkyo? I recently bought 4 Quintet's, KSW-12 Sub, and the KSC-C1 center, to go with my old Technics receiver. Well, now I want a new receiver, and heard the Onkyo's match nicely with Klipsch speakers, and reading info on the new TX-DS595, it sounded nice. I wish there was a way I could 'test' some different receivers. Anyone have the same speaker setup I have? If so, which receiver you using?
