  1. I briefly considered this when i first got my rc-64ii. Was thinking i could move the RL to the surrounds once i wanted to go rf-7ii. I am glad i just ended up getting the rf-7ii to begin with. The rc-64ii looks tiny next to them.
  2. Still looking larbo, still looking. Running 2.1 with my sub right now using 2 marantz ma500 monoblock amplifiers. It sounds great but i have that rc-64ii sitting there just staring me down. I will buy a reciever, processor or amp whatever comes to me first. I have to stay somewhat budgeted as my home theater funds are running dry and i am about to start an unpaid internship so we will see where it goes.
  3. Haha yes they are mean. Maybe someone should draw smiley faces on their drivers to tame them down a little bit.
  4. Can someone post a pic of their RS-62ii? How about for a slogan "in your face" haha like the sound is in your face and sort of cocky like IN YOUR FACE
  5. $1300 USD should be able to get you some near mint al-3 scalas. Depends on how badly you want to get a pair of them in the house i guess
  6. Without a doubt the sunfire. I believe the sunfire would be the perfect amp for the RF-7s. I do not know anything about the model you listed but look into the cinema grand signature series I and II. Parasound are supposed to have a neutral sound. The sunfire has a little bit warmer sound but this does not take away from the detail. The rf-7s are known to be a little bit harsh and i believe the sunfire would tame them.
  7. Have you ever heard a Sunfire amp? I owned a cinema grand signature for a bit. It had rediculous power but it was more than just its power that made it appealing. It had some of the best sound i can imagine coming from a SS amp. I really want another eventually. I think the sound was especially appealing through klipsch speakers too. The cinema grand signature uses tracking downconverter technology and weighs in at around 45 lbs! How carver made this thing to outperform 100lb amp i am not sure but he did.
  8. I have always thought this was a cool pic. Guys we need to come up with a picture and slogan like this for the sevens.
  9. oh i knew you had rf-5s[] I just thought that fireplace was cool having 2 sides showing. And about your other thread....there are things people can joke about and palladium is not one of them[]
  10. Jason you should try private messaging people for more information. Although it is not a rule (that i know of) there usually is not globs of price talk in this part of the forum. Sorry i cannot help you on the dsp-3400, where i got mine is a local hole in the wall dealer. If you live in michigan pm me and i will tell you where they are located. Todzilla enjoy your setup. You did the right thing and got the rc-62 with your setup, for that reason alone i think you will find yourself extremely satisfied with your system. Klipsch makes some great speakers!
  11. Hm i must have missed this thread originally nice theater sub. Youthman that is my favorite picture i have seen from you, very nice.
  12. look at larbos last picture. Do you think they look like they would be good for stereo[]. Sorry my opinion is biased because i am a 90% home theater guy, there actually may be better speakers out there for stereo but these guys are hard to beat
  13. Jennings:What really bugs me about these battery backup models are that you can dim all leds except for the big brightest one around the power button. Second the silver does not really fit in at all since everything i have is black. Thirdly i wish i would have just gone with a regular power conditioner over a battery backup. Jasoncarney: It was just some hole in the wall AV dealer in my town. They are only $899 msrp or something like that. You should be able to get one for 700 otd. Larbo: no i did not get the preouts working so i ended up selling the receiver. I am just jamming in stereo with an older receiver and 2 marantz ma500 amps. I actually have 5 of those amps and am going to be putting 2 or 3 of them in the garage sale section soon. I want to figure out a processor before i feel tied down to certain amps. I am hesitant to watch tron legacy until i get my surround sound going again but sometimes you got to do what ya got to do!
  14. The 3400 has everything i need. They can dig down pretty low. I wouldnt mind getting another one eventually. You should be able to get one of those dsp-3400s for 700 out the door. For $1400 or more i would be looking at the pb-13ultra. Have not heard of anyone being disappointed
  15. Yes it is a beast and it is menacing but i would love to check out some of the higher end paradigm subs. The 3400 is huge with with a 14'' woofer with two ports under it! Plus you can get them for a decent price from local dealers. Size wise it looks right at home next to the rf-7s. Good luck with building your system. My system is far from done and my funds are drying up so we will see what happens.
  16. Congrats on the 7s they are great speakers. My home theater is in turmoil since i found out the pre-outs of my receiver did not work. Also not loving the apc power conditioner i just got and do not know what to do about. Running stereo with 2 marantz ma500s to my 7s and it sound wonderful but that means my rc-64ii and sub are getting no action. Plus no surround sound although strangly sometimes it sounds like it
  17. go get the rf-83s now and worry about the center later.
  18. I have had the rc-52, rc-62 and now the rc-64ii. Even at low levels there is no substitute for the 64. What mains do you have or plan on getting? A reference center is not going to jive with synergy fronts
  19. The 64 has a larger tweeter and more drivers
  20. Most people do not pay msrp for their gear
  21. If it is 5 hours from selling what would you do buy 2 more rc-52s? One center is always better than 2
  22. just to clarify a rc-3 would not be such a great choice. The rc-35 would work though. Yeah the 64 would be my first choice. The 62 is of course the"correct" match though.
  23. Contact member nezff . He is making custom speaker cables that look really nice right now. I do not think he has spades on hand but for extra he would order some or else you could send him some. He does extremely good work from what i have seen and is very very affordable charging only material costs/his labor time/shipping. Here is a pic of one of his pairs i like (nezff i hope you are okay with me premoting your beautiful work). I love those gls banana plugs plus that red techflex.
  24. no but i sure wish i was. Get some amps and they would make some sweet surrounds. I would rather have a rs-7 or rs-62 but theres always a good reason to buy another pair of 7s.
