I think you got a more all around balanced pair of speakers than the RF 83's. The RF 63 was produce without much restraint on budget and good component were placed in it and it was one of the top designers pet project. A lot can be said for 6 1/2 in. woofers. There is plenty of bass, superior midrange integration, and vocals. Congrats on the speakers.
Thank you sir. I hope i fall in love with them, it was a 4 hour car ride to get them. I just have to decide where i will put them. Downstairs in my workout room where i turn up music a bit and listen to hip hop mostly or upstairs in my living room which is my main tv where i would turn them up only occasionally for a good movie. I think unfortunately downstairs will win, so i won't be able to show them off and the RF-35s keep their spot. On a plus, my emotiva a-300 just arrived today!

These or a pair of new RP280s?
I would think these would blow the rp-280s out of the water

I just got a pair of RF-63 from the garage sale section here. Will post impressions soon

How does this even happen?

I sm still planning on posting more detailed pictures. Was busy last night picking up some RF-63s from a fellow forum member i have had a lot of interest in the KV4 but no takers yet! I think it is a fair price especially considering the shape of the speaker

This may sound silly, but what finish does it have? You only took pics from the front!
I'm thinking about it.
Black. I am pretty sure these were only produced in black. Let me add some more pixtures tomorrow

You will want to buy my KV4 while you are at it to timbre match your CF4s

Bump!

Welcome. I think the RF-7 II are great speakers, and an excellent value (particularly now that they're on sale).
Have you read this thread?
Where is it best to find a "sale" price on these here in the states

I have for trade a pristine set of klf 30s....both grills perfect, both speakers in original condition as new. Want to trade smaller for space reasons. looking for rf 82II or heresy III .
The klf 30s are near perfect so I would want the traded pair to be in very nice condition. I live in indiana. 2 hrs from chicago. 1 hour south of south bend.

Unfortunately your previous 3300 was a much higher level receiver, do you still have it? Your new one does not have preouts so you can not add an amplifier. The RS-3ii would be a perfect match for your system
-
The emotiva TA-100 is a decent integrated amp. It is 50w x2 and is slated towards those who may want to add an additional amp in the future.

You would do well to find a bigger set of heritage speakers i would think. I have seen lots of great things on this forum about the rp-160m as well though

I suggest looking at the reference premier line. The RP-160m is a good starting spot

Are you planning on driving to indiana soon?

Just wanted share a good experience i had with forum member joeloster. After seeing his ad in the garage sale section we worked out a deal for me to come pickup his cherry RF-63 speakers. After carrying these speakers up his stairs and down mine i can attest that these are some monster speakers! Joe described these speakers well and they are in beautiful shape. I actually like the real wood veneer with the plastic front baffles, i think the future RF-7iii speakers will show well. I was immediately impressed with the sound of these speakers. The mids and highs meet my expectations of flagship speaker. I think the biggest downfall of this speaker is the depth of it. They are in my workout room and for them to fit the best i can not give the adequate space from the wall they need for bass reproduction. I guess i do not have a whole lot to say except that these are well made speakers with a beautiful look and great sound, i am definitely sold on flagship klipsch speakers.
