So Jim,
You sold the Cornwalls back to the person you bought them from?
I had emailed you on the ad in CL, but no response.

Hey Youthman,
Very nice setup, especially for an 11 year old!!!
The P\DD-1500 is not only a surround processor, it's also a very capable DAC, not a paper weight.
This DAC can be hooked up without the db 25 cable & also, without the SP-1500 processor.
To integrate it into you're system, run either a Toslink or a 75 ohm coaxial cable from the CD player to the corresponding input on the back of the processor,
then run RCA patch cables from the processor to the pre-amp analog CD inputs.
What this does is it bypasses the DAC in the Integra & utilizes the DAC in the Parasound processor.
I have both the P\DD processor & the P\SP pre-amp & I use them in seperate systems.
The P\DD I use only as a DAC for an Audio Alchemy CD player & a Squeezbox.
The P\SP is in my bedroom rig as a 2 channel Pre-amp.
Hope this helps, enjoy!!!
In order to use the DD-1500 you also need an accompanying SP-1500.
So for now, it's a paperweight, and can be set aside. Connect the disc player, pre-amp, and Rotel with the shortest RCA patch cables that will work. Looks like 1 footers from CableWholesale will do.
If you ever want to hook it up in the future, you're going to need the signal processor (SP-1500), DB25 patch cable, tos-link cable, and preferably a 5 channel amp (if you intend surround use); however, you could certainly continue to use the Rotel for 2 channel listening regardless. Once you acquire a SP-1500, you'll no longer have use for the LD-1100 and can set that aside.
Details for the SP-1500: http://wardsweb.org/audio/psp1500.html -
I have owned both the CT-6 & the CT-3, the CT-6 wins hands down, no comparison in my opinion.
However, they are getting old, so I'll give a +1 on the B&K. B&K pre-amps are far superior to Carver pre's,
again, in my opinion!!

Hey Doc, I think your speakers will love that amp.
I'm not familiar with those particular speakers, but I have a 5800, & i love it.
It's a very musical amp with great low end & smooth top end, enjoy!
I have thrown various speakers at it & it always delivers. (Infinity, B&W, Klipsch)

My apartment was infected with bad electricity from a previous tenant. Clocks ran slow, radios picked up foreign stations, digital tape measures would only read out in "metric".
That's a riot

I own a pair of KLF-20s & I can't believe how loud they will crank.
They are fed by a 250 watt Adcom & they just don't stop. Very decieving as well, you don't realize
how loud they are until your wife is jumping up & down in front of you moving her mouth with
nothing coming out.

I agree with cut & james, make your choice & move on.
Just because a speaker is said to be "the best", doesn't mean it is for you.
What do you do more, listen to music or watch movies?

interesting article Sputnik, thanks.

I have a pair of KLF-20 for my main room, the kgs are for my office/shop, basically a bedroom.
What is it that you like about the 4s?
Just by looks, they look more refined to me. Do you think they sound more refined?
-
I have a pair of 4.2s that I love, & I just picked up a pair of 4s. I only have room for 1 pair so I'm looking for opinions on which pair should grace someone else's room. I haven't hooked up the 4s yet, so I will definitly reserve final judgement until after I give them a good, detailed listen.
So, what do you think?

Hello, I asked a similar question about some newly acquired kg-4.2s.
I just acquired a set of KLF-20s in medium oak, is this a lacquer finish similar to the kgs.
The cabs are in decent shape but will need some scratches & a small water stain removed.
Should I remove the lacquer before attempting any repair?
Thanks guys.

YES, a very nice amp!
I own the amp2, the predecessor to the BPA2.
It sits in my stereo rack, night & day, doing it's job, not much more to say!
