  1. Finally after about 8 mths of researching and bugging fellow forum members my cornwalls are happy. I recently purchased a MC 2105 to mate with my JM Peach and now I understand the fuss with these vintage amps. I'm hearing things I never heard before. This will amp will remain in my system for a long time could not be happier. Next up I plan to get fresh xovers for the corns and a decent DAC. Anyway just had to share my experience! Oh and here is a pic of the two.

  2. **Update**

Ok I demoed a fellow forum members JM Peach and I could not pass on it so it now resides at home awaiting a proper amp. This forum member also has a MC 2100 that I plan to demo soon (out for service while I was demoing the peach) and I have a strong feeling this or the 2105 will be my "near term" amp.

I was also able to demo another forum members NOS VRD's and all I can say is WOW they blew me away my fear of tubes are gone and I absolutely loved how fluid they were. Sid was very helpful in explaining and showing how tube amps work and thus far Craig has been exceptional at responding to questions. So with that said my plan is to demo the 2100 and most likely buy either that or the 2105 and then save some $$$ and buy the VRD's. I believe either of these combos with the Peach will put me in a good place for many years...or at least I hope :)

  3. I have a similar size room at 12x12. I have a set of Cornwall I's and I love them, I have not found a genre of music that they don't play well and they have the bass that I crave. I also have a pair of Heresy II's and they sound fantastic also BUT they do not have the bass that I love. Good Luck with your journey you really can't go wrong with Klipsch.

  4. see my system profile. shoot me a pm if interested...i'm in conway.

What a great day today turned out to be. Got to meet two really cool dudes from this forum who both had awesome gear for me to hear.

Tim- Thanks for allowing me to come to your home and demo your Chorus II's with the peach. The peach has found a new loving home for sure I don't see it leaving, really cool of you to let me invade on you today.

Sid- Same to you and my ears are still ringing :) fantastic setup you have man those VRD's are the real deal for sure and I'm sold on them now.

Anyway thanks again guys really enjoyed listening to tunes and shooting the sh$!, if your ever down here in my neck of the woods looks me up!

  5. I have Heresey II's with the upgraded BC XOVER and Titanium Tweeter diaphrams and they sound fantastic. The video below is of them being ran off my TV and with a SVS sub.

I also have bone stock Cornwalls that I picked up from a fellow forum member this summer. They sound fantastic and dont need a sub in my opinion. I shot a video of them too. BUT be advised these videos do not do either of these speakers justice!!! I was just fooling around one day and decided to do it.

  6. Bummer dude! I recently hooked up my Heresey II's to just my tv (Pionner PRO-1150HD) and was astonished at how great they sound from just running off the TV no amp/pre nothing. Anyway my wife said the same thing.."I can't hear the difference" but they sure make our living room look ugly! I was just dumbfounded you know the saying woman are from VENUS.... [H]

  7. This was the year that I came back to channel audio, so I started buying CD's again. iTunes is great but I just find CD's sound to be better besides I can always rip it in lossless and keep teh CD for backup. Anyway I picked up a few new CD's this year and I find the one mentioned below to find itself in my CD player the most after purchasing.

    CD

    Stone Sour - Audio Secrecy

This will not be everyone's "cup of tea" but I find it to be an oustanding listen if you like ROCK!

  8. Rockhound:

If I hook up my CD player to the RCA inputs in the back, where do I hook up a tuner? From what I understand there is only one set of inputs in the back.

BTW, I am an Arkansas grad. Woo Pig! I am shipping the Sony tuner back today, so if I for a used component, I think it makes more sense for me to buy a used tuner, rather than a receiver, since I already have an amp that I really like.

    Thanks.

Yea u would have to hook the cd player to the front headphone jack via a cable that is provided. If your wanting a tuner I would just bi pass the Dayton and get the Nak TA-2A. You could then use the Nak as a pre amp and hook your amp and CD to it. I recently sold mine because I wanted that Klipsch sound with all my componets. Bad mistake and I bought a very nice receiver but it just didn't sound as good to me as the Nak did. So I bought the lil Dayton to get me through while I refill the audio fund and demo a few different options. Anyway I've heard great things about the H/K 430 too but have never heard it with Heresey. Good luck in your search.

Fellow hog! Gotta love it! Wooooo Piggg Soooooie!

  9. I have the latest and greatest Dayton amp. It comes with everything you need. I have my CD player hooked directly to the rear RCA inputs. The speaker connections are banana plugs which come with the amp. It was 100 bucks at partsexpress.

Before that I had a Nakamichi TA-2A receiver they can be had on fleabay for around 100 bones too they are a very good receiver I absolutly loved mine. The only reason I didn't buy another is I wanted to try a different setup with my Heresey and Cornwalls.

Having said that I can tell you with what I know now I would take the Nak over the lil Dynaco. It just sounded better to my ears.

    Good Luck!

  10. WOW!!!!

    CW's have a lot of ******* BASS!!!!!

first off, thanks to mike at avhifi,com....i purchased this MKII from av thru amazon at the price llisted for the older 13w model, the II has 25w p/chann.

mike was a standup guy and honored the old price, saving me a lot! the unit was packed VERY well, and i received it in 1 day.

the sound is FANTASTIC. this is my first listen to a tube hybrid, and i'm blown away!!!

also, the unit came with a usb cord, spkr wire with ends, and a short rca cable, something i'm not used to!!

Any chance you could post a video? I have Cornwalls that I need to buy an amp and pre for...currently researching what to get. I would love to hear what these amps sound like with Cornwalls.
