  1. I have a B&K reference 200.2 amp and need to know how to put it in standyby mode so that the 12v trigger can activate it. It does have a in and out 12v trigger connection.
  2. Logitech makes driving wheels with pedals for the ps 3 . Price range 125.00 up to 299.00. Very good wheels. Or you can dish out 5bills and get the new Gran turismo wheel. I use the logitech g27 299.00 very good wheel .I 've seen the g27 for as low as 250.00 Makes driving games very entertaining .
  3. Is it ok to have 2 powered subs in a HT setup and have them different sizes but same manufacturer? I was thinking of adding rw 10 d . I have a rw 12 d . Will ther be a noticable sound quality difference?
  4. I am having trouble setting up 12v trigger from my a/v receiver to my external amp. Any one have a pioneer elite receiver with 12 v trigger connected to a B&K amp. If so can you guide me on how to set it up . I followed the steps on the receiver manuel . All I get is a 12v trigger error displayed on receiver. Also not sure on how to leave B&K amp on standby mode.
  5. I just purchased a analog sound meter from Radio Shack 44 bucks . Need some pointers on using S.L.M . I tried messing with it not sure if I used it correctly. I set it on a tripod at my seating position and ear level pointing mic part of S.L.M towards the center channel/tv . I then turned on tv ,a/v receiver and 2 channel external amp. Selected menu on receiver and selected manual speaker level adjustment. At the very top of that menu is a master db setting goes from -80 to +12 (not sure where to set that at) on the same menu page directly under master db setting is the individual speaker db volume setting i set all those to -10. I then set the S.L.M to A at weighting and slow on response and finally selected the range at 80 . This is what I did. Turned on meter started main db at a level where the needle on meter almost peaked. I then started lowering the master db until it hit -10 on meter , the master db level at that time was at -2 . I then started to raise the db level until each speaker reached middle of meter 0. Did I do it properly or "E.P.I.C..F.A.I.L.U.R.E !" this was the out come of what I did. This was done on a Pioneer VSX 94TXH and a B&K 200.2 600watt 2 channel amp. Master db -2 Left +7 Center +6 Right+7 SL +7.5 SR +7.5 SBL +9 SBR +7.5
  6. Where can I find a 12 volt trigger wire ? For my amplifier B&K .
  7. Ok so I was able to get on demo loan a B&K 200. 2 channel amp , I believe its 300 watts per channel .(right next to the power supply connection on the back of the receiver has a sticker it says B&K 200.5 600w) The question is how should I test it and compare it to my pioneer elite vsx 94 txh . When I do the test should I notice a considerable difference between the two. And what should I be paying attention to when doing the test What I did for my own test was played a song from the gypsy kings had master volume at 30 and left and right DB volume at +6 (same settings for both external amp and receiver).I played it in stereo mode only sound coming out of left and right no sub.. I used my wife as the test dummy . Her final result was that the dialogue sounded louder with B&K but not by much. She was not aware of when I switched to external amp or receiver .Is this a good test.
  8. I believe what my friend will be selling me if I heard him correctly was either a B&K or maybe it was a H&K 150 watt 5 channel external amp , it maybe 200 watts per channel not 100% sure yet he is out of town. What do you think major or minor improvement to HT if I decide to purchase.
  9. So a external amp will make my system sound better . without having to crank the volume as much. What would sound good at pioneer master volume 40 would sound the same at master volume 50 with external amp. Does that make any sense . Like I said I'm new. Thank you so much for the help.
  10. Im surprised that running the 7 channels it drops that much ,. So when I'm watching a movie with master volume at 40 I'm only hearing about 61 watts . But if I have an externat amp thats rated at 150 watts a channel I will be hearing 150 watts constent. I'm new at this so please bare with me

  12. I have a VSX 94 TXH pioneer elite which in the spec sheet it says it puts out 140 watts per channel . 7.1 . I am looking to get a external amp for my center and fronts . The question this time is does an external amp that puts out 150 watts per channel the same as my A/V receivers 140 watts per channel ? I know the external amp has 10 more watts . " For this question lets just say both have 150 watts per channel. "
  13. I have a RW 12-d which I purchased from craigslist for 450.00 . I'm trying to figure out if I can get a better sub for my HT under 500.00 . I'm happy with it , just exploring different parts of my system .

  16. I saw a craiglist ad in my city: For sale XW500D subwoofer excellent condition 350.00 . I own a RW12D . What are the differences besides the specs? Is it a good upgrade, or stay with what I have ?
  17. I would like to know what is the advantage of adding a external amp to a home theater system ? Besides making it louder. In my case I would get one 3 channel amp for my center rc64 and L/R rf 82 . I have a pioneer elite vsx 94 thx which has 140 watts per channel. Would this be a waste of money? Will I notice a significant difference in sound quality. Thanks !
  18. I am in the process of moving . I will have a 12ft x 14ft room, ceiling height about 9ft perfect rectangular shape room. Now the question is the back wall where the rear surrounds would go RS52.The back wall is designed as follows from left corner if facing rear wall 8inches inward door molding . From top of door molding to ceiling you have about 14 inches before you hit the ceiling . You then have about 3ft in between before the next molding starts for the next door same molding height to ceiling as the first door. I have read that RS speakers should lay flat , if I do that will the speakers be to high ? The bottom of the RS52 would be above 82 inches and the top of speaker would be about 4 inches from top of ceiling Is it Ok to angle them some and will it sound good ? Can't really spend the money on brackets .If I am only trying it. Or should I go 6.1 and put one RSs 52directly in the middle of the rear wall at the correct height without having to buy brackets. Please help !
  19. When the chair works it sounds and feels very smooth , no binding at all .
  20. This question has nothing to do with audio or video but with HT chair . I have a motorized recliner chair .The problem I am having is the following. I am able to recline and decline once I seat in chair. Then out of no where I try to do a second time and nothing happens. After about 5 minute not exactly 5 minutes I haven't really timed it ,it starts to work again . I did flip chair to check all the components are plugged properly and they are. I also noticed there is 3 parts to the electronic components motor ,transformer and controller . Has anyone come across this problem ?If so please help ! Thank you.
  21. I have a pioneer elite reciever and some of the listening modes options are in thx . Do I need thx speakers to play this modes or not.
  22. I will be moving to a new home where I will have a dedicated HT room "HURRAY!" . I know where to place my L/R and C. Where I live now I have my Side- L/R surrounds at ear level and my Back -L/R surrounds the same height, they sound good in that position. Not sure if that height is OK or if I should go higher. At the new place I have play room with height for my side surroundsRS-62's. For my back surrounds RS-52's the only place I could put them is right above the door frame of the storage space for the right rear surround and above the door frame of the bathroom for my left rear surround . Which is about 7FT from the floor to the top edge of the door frame. And from the top edge of the door frame to the ceiling I have about 13 INCHES .TheRS52's would fit within that space. Would that be to high for the surround speakers. Last question do the RS-62's have to be at 90 degrees from seating position or can they be a little further away from 90 degrees. Any advice is welcomed . Thanks !
  23. I was told by a klipsch support rep that if my seating was close to the back wall or against the back wall I should use bipole speakers. If my seating was 3ft or greater from back wall I then should use direct speakers. True or untrue?
