  2. +1 I think the XPA-5 will give you more options down the road for not much more money. Also all the Emo amps are huge so unless you have a lot of shelf space having one amp instead of buying a 3 channel now and then getting a 2 channel later might crowd the set up. There not only big but heavy and I would recommend going with XPA-3 and then going with two upa-1's its not as cost effective but mono blocks add a nice effect to the mix but thats just me . lol! Thats exactly what I'd avoid in my case. My shelf space is tight so I went with a XPA-5 to have only one 70 lbs amp to find a home for instead of getting a 3 channel now and adding a 2 channel or two mono blocks! Two mono blocks would be three full sized 70 lbs amps (210 lbs!!) which is more than my setup could handle. It would look cool though, I'll give you that but really I think even the XPA-5 I have is over kill, more or less adding monoblocks to a Klipsch setup as efficient as they are! Just my opinion. I went with the XPA-5 just in case I went to a pre/pro down the road I'd have my rear channels covered and not have to worry about buying another amp later. I think the UPA-1's only weighs about 26 pounds each so really its not that much more weight but will take up more space even though there only just a little under 4'' high . But your wright it isnt the most economical way to go or space saving way either . But .... I like it lol and what I plan to do.
  3. I find I can turn off the three blue dots for the channel indicators but not the BIG blue power light. The blue LED's on my QSC's were bothersome also. I took a black fine tip sharpie and lightly went over each one. It toned them down considerably. LOL thats a great idea and if I didnt like the eye percing blue light i'd do the same ; ) For somereason blue lights dont bug me or arent distracting thank goodness because I have alot of blue lights going on but if they were red that would drive me nuts and I'd be one black sharpie coloring fool on a mission .

  5. I find I can turn off the three blue dots for the channel indicators but not the BIG blue power light. My apologies I thought it turned them all off. I've never turned mine off but thought i'd read that it blacked it out totally
  6. Good to hear and BTW You can turn all the blue lights off with the switch on the back, also give it some time to get use to it because when I first turned mine on I didnt care for the new dynamic type sound and I dont know if I had to get use to it and or it was breaking in but it just kept sounding better and better . I've had my xpa for 3 weeks or so and couldnt be happier. I was considering selling my Paradigms just because I was board with them but this emo amp seemed to have given them new life and im very very happy now. Although im still considering get some klipsch reference speakers just because I've always liked them but dont think i'll ever get rid of my beloved Paradigms : )
  7. Myself and a friend thats running all Emo separates has no hiss issue at any levels but then again im running Paradigm studio's . But I have heard "mention" of that issue but very rare. I know some one on another forum that has the Reference 83 and full Klipsch setup and never mentioned that issue so I think if it was going to happen Klipsch would be a prime suspect because of there sensitivity but who knows .
  8. Any updates yet ? Curious to how its working out for you ?
  9. I think its water under the bridge and has been over many hours now and see no need to really keep bringing it up unless you guys would like it to resurface. I think the message has been clearly sent now multyple times: ) and I dont think its been going on all day because after 2 or 3 posts I just ignored him and didnt respond in respect to this thread as I mentioned many hours ago but if you like I can go back and read his posts and respond ; )
  10. Thanks Bill I appreciate the heads up hopefuly you noticed im not responding to his previous post and just laughed it off . But again thank you again for welcome ; )
  11. Again let us know when you have it hooked up and also keep in mind sometimes it will take time to get adjusted to the new sound and dynamics. Let us know if it helps. I think your going to like it like many others have : )
  12. I saw that one to Carl and totaly agree it had outstanding LFE !!
  13. Before you pollute this thread like you have on other forums i've seen you on im going to let this thread take its proper course in respect to the thread starter . Your posts are not even worthy of a response and my apologies to other forum members for even responding to your nonsense .
  14. The Onkyo has one of the worst track records out there for reliability and running hot along with many other issues and as far as the Pioneer being under rated well have any links ? Thats as far from the truth as you can get its actually known as a power house one of the AVR's that does meet the rated power rating . You should do more research before posting my friend http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/receivers/pioneer-vsx-94txh/first-impressions-build-quality btw you better have a fire extinguisher near by for your 805 ; ) and on a side note there are many happy EMO owners out there more than not myself being one of them and thats not from reading but from being a owner.
  15. Well what your not considering is that its not so much the watts that make a difference its that with separates you will also pick up more dynamics along with a wider sound stage . Im running a Pioneer Elite 94 AVR with a rated 140 wpc and was concerned what I would gain by going to a XPA-3 and I noticed wright away better clarity, separation even at lower listening levels . I highly reccomend separates to anyone with any second thoughts like I had but hearing is believing .Going to a xpa-3 was one of my best and rewarding upgrades.
  16. Congrats ! Your XPA-3 should do the trick let us know how it works out for you . I have the XPA-3 also and it has brought new life to my front stage .
  17. Or go with a couple of Emo seperates ; ) Thats what im going to do to go with my XPA-3 . What a great amp !
  18. Thanks Dennie and all for the warm welcome [] I like the those RF 83's look wise thats what im use to tower type floorstander but I want performance to.
