  1. Hi Dennie, Where did you get those spades? What brand are they? Any idea how much they are? I would need at least 18 and I'm in Canada... Don't know if all makers are available or ship here. Thank you,
  2. Why don't you go with bare wire? Hi wuzzer, The reason is because I have 12 AWG cables and I noticed that a lot of the strands come out of the connector on both sides, the speaker’s and the receiver’s. So I thought maybe grouping them together and using a banana or a spade would be a better aesthetic solution.
  3. Hi Dennie, Thank you for your reply. I will try again and will definitely keep you all posted. I think if I can't get those to work, I will go with a spade connector instead of a banana. Quick question - how do you get to show an image in a post? My URL copy did not work as I expected... Thank you,
  4. Beautiful! Thank you for showing this picture. The banana plugs you have don't look like the ones I have. I have these: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjY3WDgwMA==/$T2eC16hHJGIE9nnWsyHeBQOf8YeshQ~~60_3.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjY2WDgwMA==/$T2eC16R,!ysE9sy0iH+)BQOf8(Cneg~~60_3.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjY2WDgwMA==/$(KGrHqF,!pUE+-iu3!9sBQOf8,m6(Q~~60_3.JPG You see in the last image how thick the tip is? Maybe this is why I can't insert them into the socket - it's too thick. Thank you again,
  5. I actually didn't try that. I'm about to finish renovating my basement in a week or two and then I'll put everything back together. I'll come to revisit this thread then if I still have issues with these bananas. Thank you,
  6. I verified that there are no plastic covers on the sockets. The diameter of the pin of the plug looks larger than the hole of the socket. I can't even insert the tip without risking breaking either the socket or the plug. Any suggestion other then looking for new plugs?
  7. Hi Fini, I have a stupid question about these Nakamichi plugs. I bought them too and for some reason I can't connect them to the back of my speakers. I have the Reference 5 series. How did you get them into the socket at the back of your speakers? Thank you,
  8. Hi, I'm renovating my basement and I would like to install molding mantle shelves to put all my speakers on. I find it very hard to find shelves in the appropriate sizes or someone who's would custom make them. Does anyone know where can I find those? Also, I am in Canada. I guess that makes things a little more complicated for me. Anyway, I'll be happy to hear back if you know a place where I can order them from. Thank you,
  9. Hello, I already have the RC-52 (not RC-52 II) and I just got a pair of RS-42 (not RS-42 II). Now I have a good deal on a brand new pair of RB-51 II (not RB-51) and I'm wondering if that would be a good addition to what I already have or should I wait for a deal on RB-51 (not RB-51 II) instead. Can anybody give me an advice? Thank you,
  10. Hello, As I said in one of my posts above, I already have the RC-52 and I just got a good deal on a pair of RS-42. Now I have a great deal on a brand new pair of RB-51 II and I'm wondering if that would be a good addition to what I already have or should I wait for a deal on RB-51 instead. Can anybody give me an advice?
  11. Hi Willand, Sounds convincing enough. In my last post I mentioned that I ordered a pair of RS-42, so now all I have to get is a pair of RB-51 to complete my set. I also have a Synergy Sub-10. So another $350 or so and I'm done. I will post some new comments on performance once I get all the speakers and hook them up. Thank you for all your inputs.
  12. Hello Willand, Thank you for your reply. Could you please specify why you also recommend going with the RS-42 and not the RS-42 II and RB-51 instead of the RB-51 II? At least in terms of frequenciy response of the RB-42-II, I see that they don't go as low as the RS-42 but they go 1KHz higher than the RS-42. Would that make any difference, I don't know. I'll have to try and decide for myself. I found a pair of of RS-42 at Future Shop for $230+tax each, so I ordered two. Should get them by mail soon. Thank you, Arie
  13. Hello Willand and thank you for writing me back. Just to clarify, I mentioned to this seller that I want to buy RS-42 II and RB-51 II and he suggested me to go with RS-42 and RB-51 instead. There was no mentioning of any RF speaker at all. I'm sure that the sellet meant to speak about the speakers I mentioned and not other. Thank you, Arie
  14. Hello, I am building my first Klipsch Reference series home theater speakers. I have the RC-52 center speaker and I'm looking to buy the RB and RS speakers. A seller from NY told me to stay with the Reference I series because they are better built then the Reference II and they will last longer. He said that since the Reference II are made in China, they wanted to save on shipping so they made the magnets smaller than those on the Reference I to make them lighter and they break more easily. The specs say that the RB-51 are 2Kg heavier than the RB-51 II. Does anybody know if there is any truth to that? Are the Reference I really better than the Reference II? I appreciate any help in that regard. Thank you,
  15. Hello SuBXeRo, Thank you for replying to my post. Currently I have my original Yamaha NSP-270 speakers. They are fairly small and lightweight and space was not an issue with them. Then I brought in the Sub-10, I did not believe the size of it! Luckily, it's on the floor. Then I got the RC-52 and again, I can't believe the size of it and I don't really know how or where I'm going to set it up but I'll find a place for it, that's for sure. What I'm trying to say is at least in terms of size, I think I'm pretty much at my limit, if not already exceeded it by a bit. Thanks for the advice though,
