  1. A guy where my brother used to work got fired and since he kind of knew it was coming placed a 'time bomb' in the computer networks. Ended up screwing up the entire computer system big-time. Luckily my brother was able to figure out how to fix it and also found that the time bomb was added to the computer system on the same day that the guy was warned that he might be fired. I don't know what the guy was charged with but I know he got jail time and a large fine.

Sounds like that knucklehead got fired for all the right reasons. (I'm in IT myself)

  2. I'm still running with two RF-3, one RC-3, and two RS-3 speakers for my home theater setup. They sound just as good today as when I first purchased them many years ago. I recently upgraded an antiquated receiver with a Pioneer VSX-919-AH, and I've fallen in love with my Klipsch all over again.

Anyone else still enjoy these speakers? If you had them, but upgraded, what did you upgrade them to?

  3. Frequent lurker, occasional poster, and long time owner of Klipsch, reporting in!

I want to post this to thank all the fine professionals in Klipsch Home Audio Customer Support. First, I called 1-800-KLIPSCH, and I was referred to the Technical Assistance department to diagnose my problem. After a very quick questions and answer session, we determined the problem with one of my son's KG 3.2 speakers; the bass driver (K-1002) was bad. I was transferred to the Parts Department, and behold! They had the driver I needed in stock! This, in itself is impressive just for the fact that this speaker has been out of production since 1994!

I ordered the part right on the spot for a nominal price. (Thursday 7 June) I was told that it would take approximately 5 business days for delivery. Well, the folks at Klipsch did even better, because I received the driver via FedEx yesterday (12 Jun). Much, much sooner than expected.

Do I need to mention that 15 minutes later, my new driver was installed and operating perfectly? Yeah, I thought so. We are talking Klipsch, remember? :)

Not only does Klipsch sell quality products, they stand behind them years after the sale! Please pass along my thanks and appreciation to everyone at Klipsch who made all this possible.

Thanks again, from a devoted Klipsch owner and enthusiast,

    Bill A.

  4. I've always wanted a pair of Belle Klipsch, but if I ever run into some bucks, I won't rule out the possibility. :) For dreaming a dreamy dream planning purposes, what is recommended as a good matching subwoofer? Feel free to list various types, price ranges. Remember, this is a dream....

  5. In my experiences with both FedEx and UPS, I haven't had a problem. I won a pair of KG 3.2 speakers on ebay about a year or so ago, and shipped from California to Texas...both speakers arrived in the pristine condition they were sent. I also ordered a metal DDR dance pad which was shipped UPS, and it arrived intact as well. But of course, depending on what is shipped and how far it has to go....your milage may vary.

Your best bet is to emphasise to the seller that they take extra care and make sure doubly sure they package them well. Be sure all sides are protected. Dumping styrofoam peanuts on top of it in a big box is not enough. Entrusting the UPS/FedEx/Generic store clerk to pack and box it up it for you is just asking for trouble.

  6. Geez, that 'sellers' reply just screams SCAM!

I'm still trying to figure out this part:

"I'll inform ebay to start the official procedure and they will contact you via email and will tell you what you have to do to complete the deal (payment instructions + refund policy + protection tips) !"

How do you 'inform' ebay? What's to inform? You either accept the bid or you don't.

Watch....he'll be asking for a Western Union payment sent to somewhere in BFE next...

  7. Any second chance offer you receive on a 'big ticket' item you bid on is a likely scam. Do your homework first!

Always communicate with the seller through the email shell provided on ebay. Use the 'Ask seller a question' link listed under the 'Seller information' area on the original auction page, you can't go wrong. If you're asked to contact the seller via any different means (email address not listed in ebay), beware.

If you are asked to pay for the auction via Western Union to an address not listed in the seller's profile, or to any different location (overseas), don't. Western Union payments are nearly impossible to recoup, once it's gone, it's gone. You can always file a police report if it will make you feel better, but that's about all you can do about it.

    Caveat Emptor.

I distinctly remember another forum member here losing over 1 grand by responding to a fake 'second chance offer'.

  8. Congrats you two, be sure you post the pics once they're set up!

Colterphoto1, my compliments on your musical tastes! Nothing like listening to Zeppelin for demoing/ critical listening on new Klipsch.

Led Zeppelin (Complete Studio Recordings Box Set) + Klipsch = Stairway to Heaven

  9. Heh. I'm retired now, so it's all good.

After I changed my mind about the Belles, my dormmate wanted to sell his Hereseys (he needed the money to buy a car). I turned them down too 5.gif and bought a muddy pair of Technics because they were on sale at the time. Double 5.gif .

I can hear the groans from here....
