shepjk01,
Those are beauttiful. Wish I was closer, they would be sold in a heartbeat. I want to build (or have built) a pair for myself. Do you have prints/plans? I have JWC's plans but thay don't have corner ports. Do yours have seperate cavities for each woofer?

I was thinking eliminate the adapter altogether and use a bolt on driver.that looks to be a off the shelf adapter with short tube into a 4 bolt hole flange/mounting plate that he whacked over hanging sections off .
seem that just a 3/8 thick material that is threaded to the driver size so the opening of the driver meets the start of the horn is needed
IE; how ever deep the threads are on the driver's neck then that would be how thick the material would need to be ,if you catch my drift .
Hi Dave et al,
Any idea what type of horn (conical, expotential, tractix) this thing is? Or does that not matter with tweeters? It sure looks neat, but........
I think you will need a tweeter attenuator if you try that DE 38 (or a DE 10) for that matter.
So an eliptical tweeter lens to go with the eliptrac squawker lens?

philly,
I am still extremely curious, did it ever work?

What? Is real life and work stopping you from working on your speakers[]
Damn I hate it when that happens!

Dr Moribus,
Hmmm.... Can you swap the crossovers in the cornscalas to test your suspicion of it being a cap in the crossover? I own KHorns and Lascalas so I know with either of those it wold be relatively easy. Don't know about your Cornscalas.

Yikes, how many meters are you selling?
I dunno, how much moolah ya got?[]

I bought a pair of beat up La Scalas from a guy who had one in his garage and the other on his front porch. He said he modified the network so it played in stereo when hooked up.
This makes no sense, are you sure you understood him correctly.
Dave
[Y] Huh?
What does listening monaural through one speaker have to do with modifying the crossover network for that one speaker? You need to sum the stereo signals much further back in the chain.

I am sorry, I don't mean to offend anybody.........But NO,NO,NO do not permanently defeat the safety ground on any piece of equipment that has a third prong for ground. It is there for a reason. It may be permissible to defeat it temporarily for troubleshooting purposes but keep your wits about you when doing so.

From Bob himself!! I hope this forum serves to help others at some point!!
philly,
Yes, this is the way I was trying to tell you to hook it up. Does it work?

and he also said that the connections on it were reversed, bck was positive and red was neg. Very odd.
philly,
Only on channels 2 and 4 are the red and black reversed.

Bummer with a capital B! I spoke yesterday with the guy who designed that amp or was at least on the design team at Fosgate Audioncs when it was produced. His name is Bob Popham. His current company is RJPC @ 970-245-4393 in Grand Junction Colorado. He confirmed that it should have worked the way I told you to hook it up. He was real easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. Perhaps he might be able to help further if you want to persue it.

So..........................?

djk,
How is one to interpet these graphs? The Atlas driver vertical scale is at 1W or 1mW? The Selenium driver has two vertical scales. It looks like the Selenium driver puts out 126db at 5kHz with 1W. And >146db in the 700-800Hz region, is that possible? 146db? OMG!

[Y] Yeah kinda important stuff
-
philly,
Have you had a chance to try it yet?
babadono

Oh! Ok. So I will need a couple 'y' connectors to run the outputs to the inputs, if I understand correctly?
philly,
Yes that's correct. I think it's worth a try.

Im still doing something wrong or I have a problem with either the amp or the pre amp section of the Marantz. No sound.
philly,
Also if you had sound when the preamp out was jumpered to the amp in on the Marantz then there is nothing wrong with the pre out on the Marantz.

Hi philly0116,
I'm thinking if there is no 'bridge/normal' switch you will have to feed the left preamp output to both inputs 1 and 2. Likewise the right preamp output to both inputs 3 and 4. Then the left loudspeaker hooks up between output 1 (+) and output 2(-) and the right speaker between output 3 (+) and output 4 (-)

I luv the check mark on the autoformer/inductor of the original crossover. Musta passed test.[]

DizRotus,
Maybe I am reading too much into what the OP wrote. I assumed: #1 It is a powered sub. #2 It has been unplugged for quite some time, at least long enough to get to Mom's house and have the dog chew off the power cord. #3 The sub has a speaker in it that is presenting a load to the internal amp. If all this is correct the capacitors in the unit are discharged. I did not intend to offend anyone in anyway.
Btw How's life in Birmingham? I'm originally from Royal Oak.

At $3k a piece in cherry veneer should I get 3 or 4 ?

BlueBomber13,
So did you get it fixed?
BTW I'm raising the [bs] flag on getting shocked. If you unplug it from the wall you will not get shocked, just like the dog didn't.

Richard,
My speculation is there is not much below 40 Hz in the source you are listening to. Try it with a signal generator. Or with the gain turned way down on the amp going to the Danley's try increasing the the freq of the lowpass filter (temporarily) to see if the second DX38 then has more signal output.
