  1. Hey Jason My 2ch set up is K-Horns with a Heresy III as the center it's sitting on the library table in the long shot. Still have not tried this set up with one of my LaScala's as I'm totally happy with the way this sounds. The HT some times I use the RF's when the wife is watching, she says the LaScals are to much. [] There is a RC-62 center in the TV stand.
  2. New HT line up with the SVS sub that was added last week. I need to up date my profile.
  3. A long shot from on top of the left LaScala to the 2ch side of the room.
  4. When you open this link the first three piece set I picked up under 1500 delivered! TV stand holds a RC-62 Plus a big plus for me as I hate Illinois and want to see them crash and burn........no sales tax..[8o|] Call the Co. direct and make a deal. http://www.furnitech.com/\
  5. As far as new/used price goes it's a toss up. Audiogon.com Blue book has the Harman Kardon AVR-525 1199.00 New and used Avg. 470.00 The Denon AVR-3805 1199.00 new used avg 430.00 You say your most interested in 2CH I found a TAD-60 tube amp on Craig's list for 500.00 and it came with a pair of book shelf speakers wire and a pair of King Cobra inter connects. Some thing like this would be a way better choice. IMHO
  6. Another way to skin the cat is to find 3 mono blocks that have both in and outputs. I went this rout when I could not find a pre amp with the center. Side note: A lot of people told me the Heresy III would not keep up with the K-Horns. I could not be happier with my set up.. The Mono blocks I used are Hibachi's with a C2300 pre amp. I paid about 1200 for the three. Tube pre amp is a must. http://www.angelfire.com/biz/bizzyb/HIBACHI.html
  7. I would like to know if the cat likes the "feel" of the K-Horns better? [*-)]
  8. I take it you like a little Boom Boom in the Boom Boom Room?[Y] I hope the wife is not into romantic comedies.[:S]
  9. I going to guess from your name you’re not in the Chicago land area? If you are let me know I can let you test drive the 60 I’m busy breaking in a Mac.
  10. WOW!!! Nice job! As far as an amp goes I found a TAD-60 on Craig's list this spring for 500 bucks and it came with some wire and a set of Design4 book shelf speakers. Set up a Google alert on all of the recommendations and see what pops up. I found you don't need to spend a lot for a great value, check out this review. http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/frr.pl?ramps&1129061242&&&/Tube-Audio-Design-TAD-60-Tube-amp
  11. Not sure what it is but looks like a fun place to shop. I think the first photo is an homage to Howard Stern? http://www.klipsch-direct.de/Klipsch-Hotties.html
  12. If your interested I just picked up a TAD-150 pre amp. I most likely will sell this summer /fall. Reason being I just found out a friend found a Mac. C2300 for me. Wile I'm TOTALLY happy with the TAD gear I could not pass up the Mac. If you have a little time Google TAD-150 and TAD-60 there are many reviews out there. A LOT of bang for the buck. I have 675 in the pre and 500 in the 60.
  13. Very nice,[Y][Y] Will you be posting pic's from you other hobby soon? [6]
  14. I really not sure what to say .-BUT-. WOW!! ask Steve if he has them out this summer I would love to stop by and check them out. I'm up north by the Chain of lakes.
  15. I want to try a center with one of my LaScalas or a heresy? To try and do it with three Mac mono blocks blows the budget. My thought was to start with the Hibachis - new 1150 for the three. If I can live with out the center I can upgrade to MC-75 at some point down the road. For now I just want to get the Pre amp right. Thanks for the input. --R--
  16. Thanks for the input Fritz. Thing is I already have three Mono Blocks for this project. I looking for a feel for the old vr new. C22-C220
  17. I'm trying to decide on a pre amp for my 2 channel system. I came across a lightly used like new Mac.C220 When I ran this past Paul at TAD he is telling me I would be better off with a Mac. C22 Building on K-horns with a LaScala center trip Hibachi 2 Mono blocks One review on the amps http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?ramps&1295202119&openflup&13&4 Any thoughts? Thanks
  18. I'm sure the cat loves ya man. I think if you put a third on its side it will clear ceiling. [:S]

  20. Congrats on the Heresy IIs your only 3 away from 5.1 [Y] I also was drawn to Heresy I bought a pair at a garage sale 1972 or 73 wile in high school. Around 75-76 I bought a pair of LaScala's new that I still have today and last month I bough a pair of K-Horns. Currently looking for a pair of Heresy's. I guess you could say I like them. If you have any cash left over try and find a tube amp. After 36+ years of SS I found a TAD-60 on Craig's list for 500 I could not believe the difference there is no going back. I'm up by the chain of lakes if you ever want to see the tubes glow.[]
  21. I should add the K-Horns if I ever get them home. (long story) will have B&K A-4500 crossovers and tweeters.
  22. Thanks Noah I will hold out for local Heresy 1? What about 2 or 3? My issue is space and the Cornwall or Belle is more than I want to spend I do have a pair of LaScala I can try if I ever find a pre amp again space and I use them for HT. So if anyone is looking for quartet N/W Chicago I got him down to 300 on the phone. One small scratch and one missing name badge that he has just not sure were. They are not hooked up at this time. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/2354679603.html
