Had my UMC-1 from the initial pre-order list and love it. I guess I got lucky and never had a lot of the problems a lot of people did. I also like the remote. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have/do mine!
They are hooked up in my main room right now Jeff. Getting them broken in a little before I tear them down to finish them. I have walnut veneer and am thinking Watco Natural, three to four coat, for the finish. I have pics from the whole way and will be starting a new thread with the info in there soon.
That is what I initially thought as well, but the AP12-600 has two 15's paralleled for a total of 30. That doesn't seem to be so large as to be prohibitive, either cost wise, or size wise? Just wasn't sure if there were some benefits I was missing.
I see some of these crossovers using parallel capacitors in the circuits (AP12 is what I am looking at). What are the benefits of this versus just using a single higher value cap there? Can a single cap be used?
Thank you.
I PMed GotHover this, but figured I could toss it out here as well. Building a set of Cornscalas and want to use AP12-600/AP15-6000 crossover. I found the schematic for the AP12-600 and then advice that said to just use the tweeter section of the Universal xover along with a tweeter attenuator. Here is what I come up with from that, and am curious as to how far off I am from what I really need? Here is the pic:
