  1. Upgraded reciever from Sony prologic to Denon 4800. Wasnt really completely satisfied with the KLF10s untill I got this reciever. Man what a complete difference. Also Paradigm PW-2200 subwoofer is an awesome upgrade over my JBL PSW 1200. This sub goes LOW. This system is finally coming together in a big way. Wanting to thank everyone on this site that has givin me "sound" advice!!

    Pw-2200

Just got a paradigm PW-2200 its a 12" woofer but let me tell ya it really brings the bass. It goes very low I was able to pick it up for $700. I would say for the money as far as I know it cant be touched!!
  3. How do you like that 4800? Did it live up to all expectations? Let us know!!
  4. Its facing forward and aimed up at about a 10 degree angle. If you dont have a speaker stand try anything you can put it on and see if it would be worth it for you to buy a stand. It did look a little funky up as high as I had it but I figured Id live with it since it sounded so much better. But know the stand is shorter and it actually made my system look a little more trick. If you try it let me know if it helps you out.
  5. My wife didnt really like the way it looked, so I cut the stand down to about 6" and increased the angle some.Came out looking very cool and didnt cost me a thing!!!
  6. That seems like to much to me. I would like to have a pair but RS-7s can be purchased for that price. Would these speakers out perform RS-7s or another pair of KLF 10s that can be purchased at the $700 mentioned above?
  7. I was just listening to music and decided since I had some speaker stands left over from my old speakers I would try one with my subwoofer. I placed the sub on the stand thats about 18" tall; let me tell you this made a big improvement. The sound is room filling and took away the "SWEET SPOT". Im currently using a JBL PSW 1200 (12" woofer) and I know alot you have a better sub than the one Ive got. For fun try this and see if this helps you out as it did me. Music is playing in the background and let me tell you its sounding awesome.
  8. Boa, Is there a way I can Biwire my 10s without leaving my speakers looking butchered? Has anyone done this and was there a difference? Ray, I used to be an electrician and still have some buddies in the trade Im sure we could hook something up for your subtle tweek and probably come in right at 4mil. looks like wavey may want a shot at it too....
  9. Nice reciever and a nice deal too!! ENJOY!!!!!!!!
  10. I might need one of those but I wont pay a penny less than $5500. Can you really put a price tag on quality?? PS: No I dont sell used cars for a living!
  11. I had the opportunity to get a set of Z2 wires for quite a bit cheaper than the $150 they sell for at GoodGuys and I did like the heavy duty connects on them; at this point though I think my money may be better spent towards a psycologist for Kieth.
  12. My systems are as follows: Sony STR-DE705(soon to be AVR-4800). AudioSource EQ200(out of loop at this time). Sony CDP-CE415 CD. Sony DVP-S530D DVD. Sony VCR. KLF10s. KLFC7. JBL sourounds.(upgrading to RS-3s or RS-7s undecided). JBL PSW-1200 subwoofer. Sony 32" TV. ( getting the itch for bigscreen ). Bedroom has: Yamaha GX-505 mini sytem. 27" Sony TV. Sony VCR. Apex DVD. Your bedroom is happy Im sure with those KLFs and such.
  13. Dont pass that kind of a deal up!!! They are nice speakers and will provide you with a great start to HT bliss. Just make sure your electronics are nice; lots of folks seem to prefer Denon so Im upgrading from a Sony STR-DE705 (not recomended) to a Denon AVR-4800 next Sunday. The Sony isnt terrible with KLF 10s but get harsh at high volume. But for HT even with a prologic amp the sound is awesome. Mate it with a C7 and a happy camper you shall be.
  14. Thanks JTS8. Question answered.
  15. If those SVS subs sound 1/2 as cool as they look Im sure that one would go way beyond my expectations!! Thanks for the info RWMIN I will check on the post you suggested. Id better get a larger piggybank. Food? Subwoofer? Food? Subwoofer? hhmmmm??
  16. Im thinking on upgrading my speaker wire to the Z series monster cable. I current have the original monster cable and was wondering if this would be money well spent?
  17. First I would like to say the knowledge base on this forum is quite impressive. Is there a subwoofer in the sum of $1000 that would supply monsterous bass but yet be musical and smooth or is this just wishful thinking. Would you use 2 subs of different type in an adjacent configuration? HornEd I think I hear a rumble from SF either another earthquake or all those 30s.
  18. OK just got done removing EQ and it did tame them a bit Goog idea Keith; I just assumed since they enhanced my old speakers I would have the same result with these. Tried also aiming them up slightly, didnt notice to much so I put them back on the factory spikes. Im trying to get a hold of that guy that dougdrake2 mentioned on Yahoo classifieds with the AVR4800 that sounds like an excellent deal $750, and it turns out he lives 30mins from me so I could check it out. My fingers are crossed. My RCA jacks are a little on the cheasy side and an upgrade couldnt hurt Im off work Sat so Ill go check some out. Has anyone took apart there KLFs to see what kind of wiring is used internally?
  19. Thanks RWMIN that info saved me some needless spending!! Ill keep filling the piggy bank up; I guess good things sometimes come to those who wait.
  20. I agree with Drewzter Sony recievers and Klipsch,(at least the lower end models not sure about ES)are not a very good combo.

    Klf-c7

Try going on Yahoo shopping thats were I got mine. Paid $315 may get a better deal on U-bid but my experience was good.
  22. I currently have a JBL PSW-1200 with a front firing 12" driver. Would I see any improvement in bass reproduction with a KSW-12 which does have more power than mine but is down firing and it would be sitting on carpet? I think I may be getting a little addicted to the KLIPSCH.
  23. RWMIN from the sound of things you have quite a system. Im hoping Im able to live with these 10s; have to see after this reciever change. Im selling my old reciever to a friend and it looks like hes going to have the option of an EQ( Id hate to take out a rafter ). I looked on Yahoo for some S6s with no luck. Ill try looking for S5s and RS-3s. Man I wish I could be shopping for mains 30s but aint no way right now. Pulling all the tricks out of my hat with the wife to get the OK on a new reciever. I told her the JBL rears Im using now are polluting the Klipsch and we cant have that. So the rears are a work in progress but Its looking mighty good!!!
  24. Perfect time for me to read a review like this. You have persuaded me towards the purchase of the 3802. PS: Ive used similar tactics with my honey.
  25. Thanks for the help. It sounds like the 3801 or 3802 may be the way to go and Ill save a few bucks for the rears. I was wondering if you guys would use the EQ I have with either one of these amps,I know its not the best quality but it did enhance the sound of my current reciever. Not looking good as far as another pair of KLF 10s go. There was a bit of a shock factor with how large they are but I like there size. KSP S6s on the wish list. Is talktokieth listening??
