  1. glennbarn, I have installed a few of the LT220's that your looking at and they look quite good in medium ambient light situations. We used Vutec "bright white" screens as a match. Please be aware that for critical viewing (lets sit down and watch a movie tonight) it might not be your best bet, we use them for casual viewing (game rooms etc.). The "halo" effect is quite noticeable on the 220. The LT 240 would be a much better match for critical viewing. As posted above contrast ratio is also key. Presentation projectors often falsely spec the lumens #'s
  2. that would be a great match in my opinion, academy or C-7 would be your best bet. Yea the forte would be perfect but until you get that Stewart perforated screen and front proj, not the most practical arangement.
  3. what are they selling for?
  4. Sorry don't take credit cards...I don't think too many custom intallers do take credit cards. If you look at the Michigan "hand" Okemos is right in the middle (a few miles from Lansing. That InFocus 110 is a great little unit I am told, uses TI chip and has 4:3 and 16:9 capabilities. DLP is the only way to go. It retails for 4500 US. Check out the View Tech screens, 1/2 the price of Stewart and a big step above the Da-Lite. 1.3 gain screen good if you have a little ambient light. ------------------ System: All items being sold as I am now an A/V dealer that does not sell Klipsch :-( Whats left: Forte's in black ash, great condition, buyer must pick up (Michigan) $1200 pr LF-10 Sub, perfect condition 1 year old $650 + shipping C-7 center black ash, perfect condition 1 year old $400 + shipping I-W 200 in walls, A little beat up but sound great no pre-contruction brackets $200 pair + shipping
  7. whats the diff between academy and C-7? I know the academy is an older model, are the drivers different? ------------------ System: All items being sold as I am now an A/V dealer that does not sell Klipsch :-( Whats left: Forte's in black ash, great condition, buyer must pick up (Michigan) $1200 pr LF-10 Sub, perfect condition 1 year old $650 + shipping C-7 center black ash, perfect condition 1 year old $400 + shipping I-W 200 in walls, A little beat up but sound great no pre-contruction brackets $200 pair + shipping
  8. Just a note from another Forte owner. I have Forte's and KLF-C7 set-up, and am VERY happy with the timbre matching they provide. Also not to be overlooked is the "Sound" of the horns together, not so much timbre matching but the same "in your face" sound...hard to describe i guess. P.S. looks like my Forte's are overpriced...oh well they will make great party speakers, I just can't part with them for less.
  9. I certainly would put them higher than normally suggested as the combo of direct radiating and Horn will certainly not diffuse the sound, you will need to do something for this. Also The further away they can be from the listener the better. I had some IW-200 (in walls) that were about 6 feet from listening area about 5 feet up the wall and the sound was very Localized (IE not great effect). I would do my best to timbre match the mids, hoghs only to your mains and go with a wide dispersion speaker if possible. Of course if your doing the 5 channel stereo thing...thats another story. I you mount them vertically then your dispersion pattern will be narrow as well...I am not an expert but would advise against this set up. We need to pay attention to the intended effect for the surround channel.

  12. Hello All, I Have been a long time lurker and sometimes poster to this board, and have learned a lot from BobG etc. I have just opened my own Custom Home Theater business and could not secure Klipsch as a brand :-( So consequently I must sell my whole speaker system and start over with M & K or Canton. $2300 takes it ALL, this is 1/2 price of new. Main's: Klipsch Forte's Original owner and they are in fatastic condition (black) Center: C-7 Bought new about a year and a half ago, perfect shape (black) Side Surrounds: KSP-S6 Also about a year and a half old. They are in good conditon. Had them painted to match my walls (light grey, including grilles) they look great Rear Surrounds: KSP-S6 About 6 months old, bought them through a person on this board. Great condition (factory white) Sub: LF10 About a year old, works and looks like new (black)
  13. I suggest you buy my personal system of speakers and save up for the rest...of course I'm a little biased ;-) For Sale: I just became a HT dealer and must sell other brands.:-( $2300 takes it ALL Mains: Forte's (black) Sub: LF10 (works great) Center: C-7 (black) Side Surrounds: KSP-S6 (prof. painted light grey) Rear Surrounds: KSP-S6 (white) All in good conditon...especially forte's for their age. Jon V.
