  3. Hi all, it's been a while. I used to be very active in this forum a few years back, but unfortunately I had a stroke. Anyways I have a bunch of high end things that I am unloading. If you are near Toronto you can let me know if you are interested in anything. I can list a few items to see if anyone is interested. Harmon Kardon AVR7000 SHANLING CD Player Dynaco Amplifier ++++ a few more items. Thank you for looking. Cheers Sean
  4. Put an 8 ohm resistor in line with it!
  5. I am looking at getting one of these or a rega saturn. http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/200871-shanling_scdt200_sacd_cd_player/
  6. JB, Now that I think of it, it may well be an asbestos damper inside. And here I am just playin around with it. Boxx, I think I'm going to get a nice little tube amp and hook them up in the garage.
  7. Ok, I get them home, and they work perfectly!!!!! The holes in the back are pot adjustments for "Presence" and "Brightness". I took all the speakers out and even the woofer surrounds are intact with no tears.(a little dry though) They sound very crisp and clear. (Klipsh heritage sounding) but do lack a little low end. Fini, for sure the caps need replacing. Probably dry as a bone after 50 years.
  8. So I go to a place near by which is kind of a recycling place that sells stuff that people drop off to them. I find this pair of bookshelf speakers amongst a whole bunch of crap speakers. I look at them carefully, no labels, I have no idea what they are, but the build quality was very good and they are in great shape. I knew they were vintage so I grabbed them. I get them home and open them up and find out they are university. I thought to myself, what a score. Then I go diggin around to see if I can find anything on the and stumble on this: http://cgi.ebay.ca/1962-University-Mini-Flex-speakers-sound-like-this-Ad-/380205101949?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item5885fd737d I'll add a couple of more pics. I'll test them out tonight, hope they work, almost 50 years old.
