  1. Hello everyone! My home theater is finally at the point where I can post it here I am an 18 year old university student at the UofA, and I would like to say I have the best system of anyone my age (That I paid for!) (Except the laptop) It started as two old Wharfedale Diamond III bookshelves and an old Sony amp from my dad, and I've upgraded it all myself to this over the last 4 or 5 years. Yes I started young! Heres my current setup: Front- Klipsch Rf-5 Center- Klipsch Rc-7 (Yes it is damaged, the previous owner got it that way when he bought it online. He fixed it up pretty good, and with some fine sharpie it's fairly unnoticable) (and yes the tv is on top. I figured if i can stand on the speaker it can hold a 60lb tv, and it's already pretty beaten up) Subs- Klipsch rw-10, SVS SB13-Plus (Yes it's in strange spot. But it sounds AMAZING at the main LP. Get off that couch and the spl's drop a fair amount. But how often do I have more than 3 people seriously listening to it? Not often.) Sides- Klipsch SS-1 Rears- Klipsch Rf-15 Receiver- Onkyo 7.1 85wpc Blu ray- Samsung Wifi enabled Games - PS2, Xbox 360 Power center- Monster HTS 1600 Tv- Lg 55" LCD 1080p PC- Asus 17" Gaming laptop Satellite- Shaw HD box (non pvr) Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard 750gb external HD Speaker cable/connectors- All hdmi for video sources. Monoprice banana plus, hdmi's, and RCA-3.5mm cable. Monster sub cables, energy speaker wire. Custom Beer Pong Table Stacked Beer fridges http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg827/scaled.php?server=827&filename=img1032ux.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg252/scaled.php?server=252&filename=img1012e.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg859/scaled.php?server=859&filename=img1026sf.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg705/scaled.php?server=705&filename=img1025qu.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg24/scaled.php?server=24&filename=img1018g.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg835/scaled.php?server=835&filename=img1019th.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg822/scaled.php?server=822&filename=img1020zf.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg207/scaled.php?server=207&filename=img1023f.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg14/scaled.php?server=14&filename=img1028do.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg513/scaled.php?server=513&filename=img1017f.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg138/scaled.php?server=138&filename=img1036vb.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg16/scaled.php?server=16&filename=img1016uj.jpg&res=medium http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg84/scaled.php?server=84&filename=img1014s.jpg&res=medium Any suggestions or comments welcome!
  2. Firstly, although I haven't bi-amped my speakers I would suggest going into your local home theater store, (not a best buy, etc) and get a good amp JUST TO TEST, do not buy it if they dont have a return policy. Hook it up and see for your self if you hear a major difference. If you don't think it's worth the money, return it. A powered subwoofer will NOT drain any power from your reciever. And I would suggest looking into one of the "id" subwoofer brands such as epik, hsu, svs, etc. Klipsch subs are known for being overpriced. I personally have all klipsch subs but thats only because i got them for VERY good prices. Go on craigslist/kijiji and look at used subs for a great deal too. that impact-12 is below your system, I reccommend a much better sub.
