  1. Jim Cornell......... You have both the Outlaw and the Sony 825. How would you compare the difference ? The sony to me has plenty of power. and base that will sound like I have a sub with my cf4's and cornwalls. Will the outlaw still give me that kind of base and still sound better ???? and is there a optical input just for cd, because the sony don't have one for cd, But it has one for everything else, which I still can't figure out. The main thing I am hoping to gain is DTS ,optical for cd and not haveing to go crazy trying to adjust that EQ. Plus clearer sound would fine too. thanks for all the info so far..
  2. The Outlaw is looking pretty good right now, but would still like moore opinions. The price on the onkyo 787 is 627 dollars delivered 3 days from onecall.com
  3. I was wondering the same thing about the RF5 vs CF-4. I have the cf4 and think they sound very nice, but was wondering if I really need speakers this big if all the low end base could be handled by a subwoofer or would the cf4 still sound bigger ? Right now It is hard to believe the rumble that these things can produce without a sub...... decisions....decisions........
  4. I need help...... I have got it narrowed down to these two receivers and can't decide. I don't have a way to listen to either, so.... The OUTLAW 1050 or the ONKYO 787 now discontinued and on sale for not much more than the Outlaw. I will have 80 mod Cornwalls or CF-4 for mains and will use mostley for home theater........ I know ther are a lot of great recievers out there ,but these are the only two I want to compare... I am ready to make my move, and I am replaceing a SONY 825.. thanks guys,,
  5. that is what I was hopeing to hear, Maybe I should sell my Sony 825 reciever and buy a Onkio, dennon or Outlaw instead. That will satisfy my wanting something new syndrome..and keep the Cornwalls and Heresys. Thanks for the replies so far....
  6. I agree with you. I have a pair or cf4's and got some 80's cornwalls because some people told me that they would blow the Epic's away........Well here I have the two side by side and ( TO ME ) The CF4's do not fail in comparrison. I am about to go crazy trying to figure out wich ones sound the best. I have A B tested, moved them around you name it. In no way blasting the cornwalls, but they definitly have a better low end for movies..... The KV-4 is the recomended center if you can find one and the KLFC7 seemes to be used by alot of people. I am getting which ever one of these I find the best deal on first.
  7. has anyone comparred these speakers side by side in there own home ? would the RF7's sound noticeably better , enough so to consider getting rid of the cornwalls ? I probably listen to more movies than music, but do like both to sound good........
  8. I also used a hot glue gun. nothing dries and sticks faster. sometimes too fast, but worked great
  9. I am using the IW100's and they seem to work well for me... Klipsch mentions the cf4 as a match on there site, but not when you look up the CF4. but under the IW100 in the classic section... Of course ,not everyone wants to cut holes in there walls.
  10. I know the Reputation of the cornwalls are Legendary, but would the CF-4 really suffer by comparrison? that is what I have now, but have a chance to get some Cornwalls and maybe some Heresy's for rears. Definatly not enough room for all of them .
  11. Could someone please tell me what the thing on the opposite side of the woofer from the crossover on the back of the IW100 wall speakers is and how to wire it . or why it's not already wired in. I know it works without ,But I'm just stumped. There is a pos and neg coming off one end that looks like it would go to the terminals but the other side has several post . ??????????????
