  1. Thanks for the replies. I don't have the original tweeters. They originally had K77 type with bad diaphrams when I purchased them from the owner. The Crites are excellent modern and rugged replacements, and extend higher. These sound nicely balanced, with the Atlas midrange being rolled off 1st order to blend with the tweeter, which rolls off 12 db/Oct. The woofer has a simple coil on it, and it sounds great.

  2. Thanks for the post! I assume these are 4ohm, since they use the crossover shown on their literature and manual. The woofers have plenty of punch and solidity, which gives them a nice full sound. I actually don't think the crossovers are too bad, using the Crites tweeters. Hard to beat for this kinda money. They are large and heavy!

  3. Bump, new price $750. Come on now, people. Not much difference from the Klipsch version. Yes, I've heard both. K Horns. New caps, real wood veneer. I just don't have room! Near Columbus, OH.

  4. They're both great sounding. The DB has has a lot of pass-through wiring in the Dolby circuit that can be a source of problems if the solder joints go bad. Its been well documented, however, and fixable. My 8080db had to have the Dolby board redone. My 9090db has been fine, knock on wood. Love em.

  5. Chorus II are one of my favorites. That 15 with the rear passive will KICK. Great all around speaker. Price is a little high though, in that shape.

  6. Haha awesome idea! ;-) You know this town too well. These are sounding damn good with new caps and Crites tweeters. Geeze, I may just have to store them if I don't get any quick bites.
