  1. Thank you for replying to my post! I've spent a some time listening to the speakers, especially the RC-7 and I can most definitely hear the difference albeit subtle, but the fatiguing ringing is no more, thus making for a much more relaxing evening with them. I really don't know why I didn't do this sooner as it was well worth it. Thanks so much for informing me on the other resistor as well, and to leave it alone, as I will do. Thanks for your help, and have a great day!
  2. I'm a little late to this thread I know. I've had the Dayton 10 ohm resistors sitting around awhile and just did this project a couple hours ago. Although it is stated to add (1) one 10 ohm resistor parallel to the 2 ohm resistor in the crossover, I find that there are two of them on the HF board on my RC-7 (2001) (116476 crossover). I can identify from another poster's picture the one they installed, but I'm curious if I should add the extra resistor to both sides of the HF crossover board, or just the one pictured with the crossover part number and the black round capacitor side. My RF-7s have crossover 116474 (2005) and have the mentioned 2 ohm resistor, but the other is a 1 ohm resister, except the capacitor values are different between the two crossover part numbers and the LF boards are very different. That's why I'm stumped if I should change out the other 2 ohm resistor on the RC-7 (116476) with a 1 ohm resistor, solder on a 10 ohm resistor in parallel, or leave this particular resistor alone. Any insight would be so much appreciated. I've included pictures. Thank you all!
  3. Thank you so much for the great advice and help, it is much appreciated!
  4. Thank you again for replying so quickly. I was thinking I should have ordered 5 resistors instead of 2. I emailed Sonic Craft and they cancelled the order for me instead of having me place a whole new order. But now I got an email today from Parts Express saying they got the Dayton resistors in stock for a whole lot less money, less shipping and no low order fee ($5). At this point, since that's all I'm doing right now I think I'll order the Daytons. So is this added resistor of any benefit for the RC-7 vs the RF-7s?
  5. I am also curious as to whether or not the RC-7 and RS-7 speakers share the same crossover as the RF-7, and if I should add the same resistor to the rest of them so that they all match? Thanks!
  6. Thank you so much for your quick and helpful replies. I just now ordered the Mills resistors, a little pricey, but I'd rather do it the best I can the first time. Thanks again!
  7. Can anybody find the Dayton 10 ohm 10 watt resistors anywhere? I know the Dayton 10 ohm 10 watt 2% resistor is recommended, but I cannot find available it anywhere. Parts Express stated 3.21.2017 when they'd be back in stock last week; now they're saying 4.28.2017. I found one on Amazon made by Xicon and is a 5% tolerance, would this one work well, or not? I'm curious as to what we're doing with this resistor changing the value from 2 ohms to 1.667 ohms. Is there a good alternative to the Dayton resistor that is available now? Thanks!
  8. Let me be more specific; there were a lot more questions and comments made on the ebay auction than just the few here on this forum. This was just the final straw for me to pull the auctions. But in the long run I know I'll be happier as I stated earlier, especially for movies, there really isn't anything that can match these Klipsch "beasts" for the great things they can do.
  9. I'd like to thank everyone for their very "nice" comments here on this thread. Probably prevented me from making a big mistake by selling my speakers on the ebay auction so "nicely" spoken about on this thread. I can't believe all of the awful questions thrown at me by a lot of people on this ebay auction. A good comparison would be like asking me to sell my 12 year old house for $20. Yes, the questions were that stupidly bad and just a waste of my time. I'm not going to "give away" these speakers and know they're worth a lot more than the "ridiculous" numerous "offers" folks were trying to psych me with. Although with the desire for wall-mounted speakers to free up room, I've realized through much research and local auditioning, that nothing will match the openness, impact, effortless dynamics and emotion that the RF-7s along with the RS-7s can bring into movies and music, and I probably would have been kicking myself down the road shortly. As for ebay - for these speakers, there is NO CHOICE as for the color of the speaker when using eBay's "auto-fill" information about the MPN of an item. I reported this error to ebay stating there should be no color stated, and yes, I was in error by inadvertantly not specifying the color in my listing title; it slipped by me. As for pictures, ebay has huge issues here. Yes, the pictures look like crap. On my monitor they look VERY sharp, with great detail and contrast. I used my Nikon D5100 with an 18-200mm lens. Even if I down-res'd the pictures to a manageable size to email (with Microsoft Paint), they still retain very good sharpness and detail. If I email them to myself till I'm blue in the face, they still look great. Pictures I down-res'd and have posted on facebook look great. No matter if I down-res or upload the large/intact file, ebay's compression absolutely ruins the pictures, making them look washed out and blurry. I googled this issue and holier-than-thou folks say to use a lightbox, use a tripod, etc. Many other folks have said the same thing; their pictures look GREAT on their computer and look like crap on ebay. Ebay should learn a little from facebook about file compression for folks' pictures as I'm sure facebook has a whole lot more pictures sitting on their servers than ebay does. It was by chance I stumbled across this forum thread on google, and I'm glad I did. The comments made here were the final push to not sell my very pristine/paid for Klipsch setup. Although I'm not very popular today with a few folks, I'm glad their audacity and desire to "get something for nothing" made me realize the big mistake I was about to make...
