After having the RW-12D for almost a month, I'm so glad I returned it and got the SVS PB12 NSD. What a difference!!

BTW, I was in the same debate, but decided to go with the SVS PB12. Seems to be a great sub for the money.

Sorry for stepping in. I have read a lot about the placement of a sub in a corner, but no one ever seems to give details on that. Is the corner placement with the sub parallel to a wall? Or is it facing into the corner at 45 degrees? Facing out (for the front-firing type)? I have only tried placing mine at the 45-degree angle facing out. So, was wondering if I'm doing that placement wrong. Thanks.

Thanks! I'm going to go ahead and get the SVS sub and try it for a few days. Most likely, I will love it and just return the RW-12D to Amazon with my sincerest apologies.

Thanks for the explanation. I got mine from Amazon, but it was also heavily discounted from MSRP. If I get another RW-12D from Amazon, the total would be over $900 for both. Whereas, the single SVS sub is $769. I am willing to put in the effort to get the benefits of dual subs....i'm just trying to get a feel if that effort is warranted for two RW-12Ds or not. Sounds like you guys are really into the SVS sub. [] So, I guess that's a better option.

Thanks! I only have one RW-12D at this time (and am still within the 30-day window to return it). That's why I posed the question. Should I get another RW-12D and let them handle the bass equally? OR should I return the one RW-12D that I have and get the SVS sub? It would be slightly cheaper to get the SVS sub, but I'm willing to go the other route, if the two klipsch subs would work well also.

Sorry to step in here, guys. I just have a quick question similar to the original post. Would it be better to have TWO Klipsch RW-12D subs in a room (2,200 cub. ft) with one of the walls only being a half wall (open to another room) OR having ONE SVS PB12-NSD sub? Thanks!

Hi. I recently got the RW-12D (cousin) and had a lot of work to get it to sound how I wanted it. Initially, I also had it in the middle of the front wall. Never got the bass I wanted. So, I moved it to a rear corner. Now, it sounds amazing! Some have mentioned that these subs were designed to be in a corner. Not sure how true that is, but for me, it was like night and day. So, give it a try...move the sub to other locations and see if it sounds like you want.

If I was one of those that wanted to have the sub run "hotter" than normal [] I think my decision to change the trim from -6 db to -3 db confirms it. I just hope it will allow for a louder bass response. Thanks.

Well, I changed the sub EQ to "Deep" and ran the Audyssey process agai--actually did all 8 positions this time. The sound seems great for all the speakers BUT the sub is still a bit weak. Audyssey set it with -6 db this time. I'll keep trying with some of the sinewave files I downloaded and some action movies to see if I can get stronger bass. Probably will have to move the sub or point it in another direction.

Not sure where that would be. The receiver is the Denon 3311. The features state MultEQ XT.

Guys, What about the debate over using a Y-splitter at the sub to connect the LFE cable from the receiver to both of the sub's L and R RCA terminals? I had this one my old sub, so I kept it on there. Should I remove it on this RW-12D sub? Thanks.

Audyssey doesn't set that setting. There is really no reason that it shouldn't be set to 120Hz. The LFE channel can contain info as high as 120Hz. Why would you not use the Depth setting if you wanted "deeper" bass? Frankly, with Audyssey, I'd be tempted to just set it to Flat prior to running Audyssey. You might find THIS thread of interest, though. Why? I actually thought that the "punch" setting was for movies and the "depth" setting was for music. That was the only reason I picked punch. But, I did have it set to flat when I ran the Audyssey process. I'll try the depth setting and see what gives. Also, I had read that the LPF should be at 120 hz (might have been in some Audyssey guide), so I'll set it back to 120. Thanks
