  1. I guess that all depends on how bad I wanted them. If they are mint and I really wanted them I would probably go $600. Just my opinion!! Of course however, I'd be more comfortable at $500, Lol.

  2. Nice price, good luck with your sale.

I'm in a B&W mood these days but I'll listen to all offers.

Is it just curiosity or is there something the 7's or 83's did not do for you?

Is that RW-10d the only sub you are using with that setup?

    Bill

Hey Bill. Yea. Just 2.1 is all I run. Actually I dont really even have the sub on unless watching a moving. I like all the speakers just fine. I like to mix it up, try new things!!

  3. I'm moving some things around and I need to sell my RF-7's. They are in good shape. One speaker on the top has a small nick out of it, one driver has two dents about the size of a pencil lead and the grills are each missing a couple of pegs. The grills stay on with no problem, though. These have the RF-7 mod done to them, if your unfamiliar with the modification there are threads on the forum here, https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/150502-rf-7-sound-mods/. They sound very very good. I would entertain trades for other speakers, I'm in a B&W mood these days but I'll listen to all offers. Im asking $800 OBO. If your interested or want to hear them shoot me a pm, worst I can say is no but I do need to move them. I am in Central Arkansas. The RF-83's in the pic are sold. There will be more photos added when I have a few minutes to do it. Thanks for looking!

  4. The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip Of Bob Weir is currently on Netflix. I watched it last night and I really enjoyed it. What a life and career Bob Weir has had. We dont really need a documentary to tell us that but its really neat to see and hear his side of the Grateful Dead adventure. Check it out, even if you aren't a dead fan you may be able to appreciate the historical significance.    :emotion-21:

  5. These things are crystal clear and sound at least twice their size. They are a little light on bass

    Sounds like a LaScala review!

Nothing wrong with liking both blondes and red heads....

My wife may argue with that....shes a brunette!!

  6. I owned both the RB-5's and the CDM 1NT's simultaneously. They both sound fantastic but overall, I chose the RB-5's. Different ears for different measures. both are great brands and both speakers have their positive attributes.

    Congrats on the new purchase!

    Thanks!

  7. I contacted a guy that I have bought from in the past because I remembered seeing a pair of B&W's he had. Turned out he still had them and he was willing to sell. What he had was a pair of CDM 1NT bookshelf speakers. I googled the speaker and came up with nothing but positive reviews. I went, I listened, and after I picked my jaw up off the floor I brought them home. He also had the actual B&W stands the speakers bolt to so that was a bonus. I'll be honest, its been a LONG time since I bought speakers that could ride up front with me! These things are crystal clear and sound at least twice their size. They are a little light on bass, at least for me but I have a sub so that's a negligible complaint. The Nautilus tube tweeter really sounds amazing and the kevlar driver is just tough and sexy. The overall design I feel, is very easy on the eyes. I like the modern look. At 88db, they are not near as efficient as our beloved Klipsch, however, even at lower volume I still feel like I get the full compliment of sound and when I give them the business they hang in there, get louder, and sound better. No, I am not abandoning Klipsch, I just decided I needed to open my mind and let some different sound in, thats all.  :emotion-21:

  8. I've seen those listed on CL for awhile and wondered what they had in them. Just never got around to asking. What woofers do they have? Did you find out or did I miss that above? Or are they just the cabinets?

They are just the cabinets. I went to buy them and they were ROUGH. I passed on them. That pic was a little decieving. I was wrong about the crites woofer. He has no idea whats in them. He will sell cheap though Im sure if you dont mind a project.

  9. I have used most of these components or a similar one by the same manufacturer. All should perform well. My first concern is that the woofer you chose will probably not keep up with your horn. It is a very good woofer for it's price point but will not put out the db's that horn will. If you want to stick with Dayton the series II, or their professional version both will give you better output. Looks like a fun project. Others with more experience will chime in with more suggestions, I'm sure. Good luck with the project.

The 15" dayton series II woofer has a spl of 91 db the Dayton PA 380 that he posted has an SPL of 96? why would you say his choice would not keep up and then suggest a woofer that is 5 db's down from his choice? Also the series II woofer is only good to 1000 hz where the PA 380 is good to 3500hz?
I'm not nearly as crazy as you may think. He edited his original post. Originally he listed the link to the Dayton 15" Classic which has a lower spl than the pro model that he switched to after my post. One of the dangers of letting posts be edited. Compared to the classic, the series II is a little more sensitive and handles more power and covers the frequency range he was originally looking for. I have used both (12" not 15) and the series II has much more punch. The classic is still a great value.
I did edit it after his suggestion!!

  10. Well, my Dad was a very close friend of one of the executive producers, James G. Robinson, and he spent a lot of time on some of the sets during filming, and got to hang out with the crew and some of the cast members, which he told me was one of the most fun experiences of his life.  Unfortunately he passed away before the theater release of the movie, but he did get to see the final cut, and the dedication to him in the credits.

That is one of the best stories I have heard in a while!! Amazing.

  11. I own B&W 802D with matching sub. They are sitting in front of my K-Horns right now. I have the Nautilus center and a pair of B&W 805D for rears. I also have Klipschorns, Belles, La Scala, a couple of Epic series, and on and on. The B&W are amazing. Time-aligned and the bass is astounding. They require a minimum of 50 watts due to the difference in efficiency, but I have driven them with several vintage Sansui pieces. The B&W just sound great. Not that they out perform the Klipschorns (well they do on the top end), but the soundstage blows away the corner horns. They are wonderful, wonderful speakers. Accuracy is astounding. I find them very beautiful and the construction is a work of art.

I am in the process of building another sound room to house my Klipsch speakers dedicated to vintage gear and mainly two-channel listening, but the room will be set up for multi-channel as well. Music is on at our place constantly.

I planned on running them on my Emotiva amp which is 125wpc @ 8ohm and 200wpc @ 4ohm, that should be sufficient to drive them then.

You won't be disappointed! I had not planned on buying the 802 Diamonds, but I was offered an unbelievable price. The 802D retail for about $15,000. They are the second pair of B&W I have owned. I was not impressed with my first pair which where the DM-10. I traded them for a pair of Bose 901. I was surprised at how good I could make the Bose sound, but I only kept them a couple of weeks before selling them. The 802D will reveal every flaw on a recording.
No one would ever sell a pair of 802D at a price I could afford!

  12. Emotiva and B&W Enjoy that :)

Is that a serious comment or you think it would sound bad?

I was being sarcastic sorry , I don't know your budget or what your after . I owned Emotiva gear before also and all different brands and speakers , I am probably one of the top ones for swapping out gear and sometimes forget that everyone needs a starting point . Again Sorry and best of luck
    No harm done!
