  1. I bought my first of many Klipsch from a military exchange store e.g. LaScalas in the Phillipines, Quartets in Iceland, Chourus IIs in Germany. I can tell you from experience that the company from MA does (or did) a LOT of marketing in the PX / BX / AAFES stores and there is some ready cash to be spent

See, hear and buy then have them shipped to home.

While the olden days of having 'audio clubs' on base may be gone I am positive that a speaker company that didn't have the budget available for a sales rep could find a knowledgeable fan who would work the stores for oh, a set of speakers delivered home and a name tag. The military folk do love some stereo.

This is true. I would love to have a 3 way option that is more in line with the cost of the reference series. Even a little bit higher priced would work, as long as it's more affordable than the palladiums (although I would love to have a set of those).

  2. Had problems with the denon, it wouldn't connect to netflix. I called their techs and they couldn't help me so I sent it back and ordered the oppo 103. It turns out that denonlink isn't actually included in the 1713, so the only reason I wanted it ended up not being an option after I did more reading about it. I'm thinking the oppo will be a better deal with more future proofing. It should be in on Tuesday, looking forward to it =^)

  3. I've been following Sony with there 4K and it seems like a leap forward but at a huge price, the estimates for the 84inch are over $20'000!

So the price is high and from what I can understand ultra hd is only noticable on screens higher the 65inches. Don't get me wrong I would love to have one but I know it would be many years before I could afford one. I wonder if the technology will trickle down to projectors as well.

I heard of guy that has a 4k projector, so according to that it's already there...if he was full of it, then I would say that it will definitely make it's way at some point. From what I've read, that'd be the only way to buy 4k that'd make it worth having.
  4. Wifee let me open my bday present a couple days early and she got me the Denon, and I am excited to use it. I'm already listening to Dark Side of the Moon in 5.1 and it's pretty freakin awesome. I can't wait to start expanding my SACD/DVD-Audio collection! My woman is the bomb.
