  1. I have a question about Audyssy set up. In the past I have run the set up with the Sub volume at 12 o'clock. My Audyssey results would set the level to around -8.5db. Is there a range or number I should shoot for? I read something regarding lowering the sub volume to around 10 o'clock to get a lower -6.0 db area. This in turn would allow more headroom by leaving the user the ability to bump the sub volume on the receiver? Can someone explain....if this makes any sense.
  2. It is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I already have the SB1000 packed up for return shipping. I received my replacement sublink today from SVS. They really did a great job making it easy to ship back the defective sublink.
  3. Cylinder subs are ported on the back or the top. It's a down firing driver
  4. Ordered the PC2000 today. Should be in Wednesday just like the replacement sublink. They were great to work with. I was given a 5% off repeat customer discount also. For those who have never did the SVS trade up it seems pretty easy. Basically they give you their discounted shipping rate to send the old sub back (in this case $30). I get a call tag and they set up a pick up time from my house. I also pay the discounted shipping rate of the new sub (PC2000 $40). I talked to Denon and no real answer why the 2100 was acting up. However, the wifi worked perfect today.
  5. Well change of events. I ran it past the wife and it looks like it will be a single larger sub in the corner. BTW there is only one corner to work with. I think I will be steering towards another SVS because the Trade in deal is really hard to beat. I had one guy want my PB1000 but could only fork over $225. My trade in value with SVS is $420 after shipping. Since it will be going in the corner, I wonder if there would be any difference between the PB or PC? I say this because the PC has a rear firing port (which would fire into the corner) or the PB which would fire into the middle of the room? In a strange twist of events I had my wireless sublink go out today. SVS is sending me a replacement. I also seem to be having issues with my Denon connecting to WiFi? It will not seem to connect. I have had issues in the past the Denon iPhone app/receiver connecting. However at the same time my iPhone and any other device would work without a problem. I guess that will be a call to Denon tomorrow. It is funny on the receiver I would thing when it is scanning for a network it takes a few tries for my network to show up. It will pick up the neighbors no problem. Not sure who here is familiar with Denon and WiFi, but I have a dual band router (2.4ghz and 5ghz) the Denon does not pick up on the 5ghz band but my tv does. On a good note I did get a set of Niles OS5.5 outdoor speakers set up today on the Zone2/patio.
  6. I talked to SVS. I gave a discription of my room and situation. They told me dual pb1000's have about 10% more output than the PB2000. He recommended (like scrappy suggested elsewhere) going with dual pb1000's for less localized bass than a single PB2000 (or similar) in a corner and it should offer more headroom. They will offer me the discounted second sub also. I really just need to move a Boston Acoustics TVee 30 soundbar to help offset the cost of the second PB1000. This was my "system" before I got the current set up.
  7. I should clarify looks. I am mostly meaning having something that has a size that can blend in and not so much beg the question "what are those big boxes?"
  8. Forgive me I am kind of new at this, what is FR? Regarding going dual I am battling astetics. I could support dual pb1000 or dual sb2000. I can do one large sub in the corner or smaller duels on a wall.
  9. Yes, it seems there is difficulty with finding SVS specs such as those. Probably right about the 15". I could actually buy 2 R-115SW for the price of a single PB12 plus. Nismo- looking at your set up it seems I pretty much have a baby version of your stuff
  10. Would it be fair to say the R115SW has more output than the PB2000/PC2000?
  11. Here is an attachment of the floor plan. The system is set up in the great room. The flexroom, foyer, and kitchen are all open. houseplan.pdf
  12. Output. It seems that under lower volumes the PB1000 seems to be fine but when I turn up the volume the PB1000 does not keep up with the RF62's. However, I think the PB1000 seems to hit low enough for me.
  13. I am looking for something that is going to fill a 2900 cuft room better than my PB1000. I am torn between the PB2000, PC2000, and Klisch R-115SW. I should mention my room is listed at 2900 cuft but that does not include the open concept. I really like the SVS trade in program. It would cost me about $380 to upgrade but I can get the Klipsch for about $125 less. I really dont have the ability to go with duals though unless I went with smaller SVS SB2000's.

    SVS PB1000

Selling a 6 month old SVS PB1000. New contition. Needing something bigger. Local pick up 31047 (Kathleen, Georgia). Sorry $400obo
  15. Seems to make the R-115SW even more appealing. I did a short demo of Gladiator and not near enough bass. I ended up bumping the subwoofer volume to +12db (receiver) and turned up the volume to max on the back of the subwoofer just to see what it would do. Obviously no intentions to keep it this way.... This was almost enough bass to fill the area. The RF62's really can outplay the PB1000 by a long stretch. I wonder if 2 PB1000 would outplay the R-115SW? .
  16. Update: Well I got moved in and the systems set up. It has been years since a 5.1! I ran Audessey a couple times and noticed my subwoofer was set at -9.0 db. I set the volume on the back of the sub at 12 o'clock. I then reran audyssey but with the volume at 10 o'clock...netting a -2.0 db. If i understand correctly I should have between a -6.5 and 0 for results? I now just bump the volume of the sub on the Denon as needed. Looking at some of the other results, some speakers also were toned down some. Audyssey Automatically set the mains to large and x over off. I changed that to small and a 60hz xover for center and mains. I only listened to music yesterday, but today I will try a movie. I upgraded my wifi router to a dual band and now use the 5ghz for streaming Netflix. I guess that is supposed to be a better option vs everything sharing a single band. I will have to fine tune it more as I did my best to hold the mic in a way to not interfere as the "rocket ship" thing could not be found. It will turn up in the coming days as we unpack more stuff. I still think I will need a bigger sub. I am working with a room that is just under 3,000 cu ft But it opens up to the large kitchen (behind main seating areas) and a sitting room ( to the right of seating area). Still torn between a PB2000 and the Klipsch R115SW. The ease of trade in with SVS is so tempting and the deals that can be found on the Klipsch.....
  17. I do have to agree the PB1000 will likely not be enough. Infact I would like something alittle bigger right now. If I can get a good buy on the Klipsch R-115SW I will likely go that route after I listen to the SVS in the new house. I would guess the PB1000 would be worth around $400? It is about 6mo old and like new. I do have the wireless kit for it also but may keep that for the Klipsch. My other choice would be the SVS PB2000.
  18. Bonaire. Soon moving to Kathleen. Basically Warner Robins...
  19. Just found this review on the Klipsch R-115SW http://hometheaterreview.com/klipsch-r-115sw-subwoofer-reviewed/?page=2
  20. I have also considered the newest klipsch 15" subwoofer. Considering some of the prices they can be picked up for lately.
  21. Yes, love the floor plan. It is a spit...Kids side of house and adults master on other side. The kids rooms are connected by a bathroom they share. The kids even have their own media bonus room so they can game or watch tv in their own area. Minermark - the wait seems forever. They started beginning of June. I was hoping to have started a month or so earlier. derrickdj1 - Thank You
