  1. Hi, Well it's finally done...for a while lol......Check out my sig and the pics attached....I still have a pair of KSP-S6s that i could play around with to see if they would add any sound to the room. p.s. Sorry I don't know off hand how to attach the pics directly into my post. I know it's a pain to hit download every time..... p.s.s. Everything except the Sub and 2 Carver pieces are brand new....Sounds great... Mark
  2. The only reason to make it as loud as possible is because so few of the heavy metal bands today have the musical talent of the bands of the past. They just want it loud and forget about any musical nuances. Just my opinion.... Mark
  3. Hi, I am going to have an extra pair of speakers when my RS-7s arrive later this week. I am considering buying a couple of stands for the S6s and use them for the side-axis speakers. Thoughts? Thanks Mark
  4. Hi All, I picked up my new RF-7s on Friday ($1350) and my Sunfire Theater Grand IV and Signature Amp 400x7 on Saturday and must say I am completely satisified+++. I will be upgrading my signature for the forums shortly but this is a whole new ball game vs. my sig. This is the first setup that I have owned that I can honestly say can fatigue me with one song. I have always liked to be able to turn my Chrous IIs up and have people be surprised at their sound but the combo I now have will actually over-do things which is great by me (not saying my Chorus IIs would not have done the same, I sold them before the I tried the Sunfire). I am very happy with the Pro-logic II and will be moving my KSP-S6s to stands to take advantage of the Pro-Logic IIx. The Sunfire gear is AWESOME and I am extremely happy with it. My RC-7 and RS-7s will be here in the next week and I look forward to adding those. I sold my KLF-C7 last week and am running phantom center at this point. The Sunfire IV is the easiest Pre-amp I have ever set up. The OSD is great and extremely easy to sort through. I can honestly say that if anyone is debating about Sunfire, then debate no more, it is great. I will try the XLR connections if I can find them reasonably priced...Goodguys is close to $90 a piece so I will be looking somewhere else. Let me know, if you know about a good reasonably priced set of 7 XLRs. Thanks and feel free to ask any questions of me. I love it !!!!!!. Mark
  5. I will post info soon. I have the Sunfire theater Grand IV and Signature Amp 400x7 on it's way (maybe be here Saturday) as well as RF-7s arriving tomorrow. I can't wait to get it all set up and will let you know my thoughts. Mark
  6. I really like my SVS Sub.....Sounds GREAT and has always worked flawless. Works ok as an end table too lol....
  7. What about the sound quality between 12 year old amps and todays latest technology? Thanks Mark
  8. Sounds good. I sent you a PM with my contact info. They are still for sale. They look and sound great as John has said and I really would like them to go to someone here who will care for them like I have. Thanks Mark
  9. Thanks Rplace..My main question was how much difference in quality and sound there would be between a couple of 10+ year old Carver TFM-45s and one new Sunfire 7 channel amp.
  10. Hi, I have a GREAT set of Chorus IIs that I have owned since new. I have decided to sell them after a lot of thought and really want these to go to someone who is going to appreciate them. They are the Oak models and are near mint except for one thing. One of my kids poked in the cone on one of the Passive Radiators a couple of years ago. It did not affect the sound and I had actually called Klipsch to order a new passive and they guy talked me out of it and said it would not affect anything (they had all of the replacement parts still available from Klipsch last time I called). I am happy to audition them for anyone. My digital camera is unfortunately not working but I will see if I can find any other pics on my HD. I would REALLY prefer for local pick-up and could store them until you could pick them up. I can take Paypal etc. Thanks for looking. I am pretty set on $650 and know they are worth every cent.
  11. Hi, I asked this in my Aragon thread but thought I may get a few more opinions in a thread of it's own. I am considering trying to find a couple more Carver TFM-45s (already use the one in my sig 375wpcx2 I know I know it's overkill for Klipsch ) to go along with a Sunfire TG IV that I ordered today. Do you all think I should consider a newer one? or the classic stuff will work just fine? I can consider the Sunfire but it's a lot of $$$$$. Think I am doing good getting a brand new TG IV for $3200 out the door. Should be here in a week. Thanks for opionions. They are always welcome.
  12. Looks I am heading towards the Sunfire Theater Grand IV route now. What I am not sure of is how I am going to power it. I have a Carver TFM-45 already in use and am thinking about just finding 2 more of them for power and calling it a day. Do you guys think I would be crazy running a new Theater Grand with 3 10 year old amps? Thanks for info.
  13. Shop around and be patient. I have a brand new pair of Cherry RF-7s on their way to a dealer for $1200. Hope to have them in a week or so.
  14. Thnks..I thnk I am going to hold off for now and think about what my goals are with my setup. Thanks again for the input. Mark
  15. Thanks..I will keep that in mind...I thoguth I would get more feedback on the Aragon "deal" It seems to be a pretty good deal for the money.
  16. Thanks for the replies. I am just lucky to know a great dealer who loves A/V stuff. I posted a question about this in the HT forums but my latest dilemna is he offered me a brand new sealed Aragon Stage1 pre-amp and 2007 amp for $4500. I have concerns such as Klipsch may be replacing them soon with newer stuff and, well you know in general to me $4500 is a lot of $$$$. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks for info. I really appreciate the advice.
  17. Hi, What do all of you guys think these days about the combo of RF-7s (along with surrounds and center mentioned in sig) and the Aragon 2007 and Stage1? I have been doing quite a bit of reading but now have concerns about them stopping production etc. I found a brand new sealed set for $4500 from a great dealer but have never listened to the Aragon stuff. That's a lot of money to me so I would rather hold off a little if they are a little outdated or have other limitations vs. what else is out in the market.
  18. Hi All, I wound up getting an offer I couldn't refuse today. I wound up telling a dealer go ahead and order me a pair of RF-7s. He offered me any color (chose Cherry) brand new order for $1200 out the door. I am looking forward to playing with them as soon as they arrive. Here is my question. I still have my Chorus IIs which are in perfect shape. I was considering selling them but have now been kind of reconsidering setting up a seperate 2 channel room. I have never heard them powered by anything other than a Carver TFM45 amp with either an old Carver pre-amp (no surround but was great sounding C-6 I think it was) or my current Marantz receiver (with TFM45 powering the Chorus). I am thinking I really will consider keeping them if you guys think I have never really even heard part of their musical potential. I am not really into classical music etc. I am 36 and still like listening to 80s rock everything from AC/DC to Depech Mode (I know,I know that is quite a spectrum). I do like a little country here and there. I do like to listen to my music loud sometimes and push the Choruses close to their max. Do the tube amps really have the gumption to play loud and strong like the Carver stuff or is it more for really detailed classical music where you want to be able to identify where that clarinet player was sitting? Thanks for input and I look forward to hearing what suggetions you have if their are tube amp setups that would fit this need. As for the RF-7s I am still considering what to upgrade my Marrantz to. Thanks again.
  19. Thanks for the summary of this one. I have always enjoyed HFO with DTS. I'll have to check this one out also. Norcuron
  20. Hi, I have compared side by side the RF-7s and my Chorus IIs. I thought the Chorus IIs took on the challenge very well and wound up taking the RF-7s back to Good Guys. I think the Chorus IIs are a great speaker. They go very well with my SVS PB2+ Norcuron
  21. As funny as a one legged man in an a$$-Kickin contest When you were born the doctor turned you over and said "Oh Twins !!" You are a real gift from Heaven...too bad you landed on your face. When you were born your mom said "Oh what a treasure !!"....your dad said "Yeah let's bury it"...
