  1. I may be interested in trades as well... Just selling some gear and changing up my system.
  2. NO LONGER FOR SALE I have decided to let go of my Threshold 400a. For those who are not familiar, this is a Class A amplifier designed by Nelson Pass. 100 watts/channel into 8 ohms or 200 watts/channel into 4 ohms. The amp is in excellent condition with only a few minor flaws here an there. Very presentable amplifier aesthetically. All the led's work nicely on the front panel. This is a later model 400a with the detachable power cord, etc.. I would like to get $1200. Local pickup is preferred in the Gainesville, FL area, however I am willing to ship as well. If you are interested, I'm happy to email more pics.
  3. The line stage has now been SOLD. I still have the Mono 120 amps and would like to sell them if anyone is interested. $3500 + shipping.
  4. Don't think I've ever seen one of these with MM/MC priced any better than this. Great preamp, great deal. Shouldn't last long at all.
  5. Unfortunately it does seem that way. I wasn't aware that things slow down in the summer months, but I guess you guys are right. I'm losing my butt on the Quicksilver system at $4500, but would like to move it on to a new home. 120 watts of tube power is hard to come by, especially at the price. If you need some amps with balls, these are it. They drive my Legacy Focus 20/20 speakers effortlessly and sound incredible. Looks like I may end up keeping them hooked up to the Quicksilvers.
  6. One final price drop before I decide to keep this system.... $4500 + shipping charges.
  7. How about $4800 shipped for everything?
  8. Never heard one of these...always wanted to though. Good luck with the search.
  9. I second everything Mark1101 just stated, as well as the other fellow members. Great advice. GLWS, beautiful gear.
  10. Need to sell this guys. I also have one of Craig's NBS preamps and a Quicksilver Full Function preamp. So this is just sitting in the closet. I no longer use multiple systems, so this needs a new home. Anyone interested? Only 360 total hours. It's the new updated circuit with the more simple signal path. Sounds great and has a remote.
  11. My Quicksilver Remote line stage is up for grabs. It is only 4 months old and has 360 hours total use. I am the original owner. No flaws; as new. Factory tubes included (Electro-Harmonix 6922's) along with original factory box, packing, power cord, remote and manual. New it is $1595. I can do $975 + shipping. We are a smoke/pet free home.
  12. I decided to sell the preamp separately. It has been SOLD. However, the B2 VFET amp is still available. I can do $975 + shipping for the amp if anyone is interested.

    Those look beautiful, GLWS
  14. I am going to do one more price drop... $1200 + shipping
  15. I am going to do a price drop...$1300 + shipping for the system.
  16. Price for the preamp is $1075 shipped. It's only 4 months old with 360 hours use. I'm knocking $525 off and covering the shipping at my price of $1075 shipped. Hit me up if interested.
  17. I do not believe PaPa Pass was involved with this amp. I do know he loves VFET's though. There is a host of info out there about that. Pretty fun reading. The Yamaha B2X was the successor to my B2 amp, and lots of guys think a step down in sound quality. I've never heard a B2X myself personally, so I can't comment further on that.
  18. THIS IS SOLD Up for sale is my Yamaha B2 amp. I purchased it from the original owner. It had been in storage for the past 15 years. I had them both restored/recapped and the system now sings beautiful together. It has a very special sound character that must be experienced to describe. Beautiful midrange that I've never experienced with solid-state amps. This is probably due to the VFET circuit. I can do $975 + shipping. Service work to the B2 amp as follows: -Replaced the 16 small electrolytic caps on the power supply board and driver boards. -Replaced the 4 adjustment trimmers on the driver boards -Replaced the 2 protection relays -Replaced the 4 meter bulbs -Installed heat sinks on 8 of the transistors on the driver boards since they run very hot -Contact cleaned the controls and switches -Touched up questionable solder joints -Removed the 3 power supply regulators and freshened up the thermal paste
  19. SOLD I have decided to sell my reference phono stage, George Wright AG Signature, complete with original manual. Excellent condition and incredible sound quality. Separate tube-regulated power supply with huge transformer is evidence of the quality behind this design. For those of you who are not familiar, this is a very rare piece. I am going to include my personal selection of NOS tubes. They were all ordered specifically for a phono stage and are very quiet. All tubes will be shipped with their original boxes. Tube selection as follows... - Matched quad of Mullard CV4004 box plate tubes (from Upscale Audio, Platinum grade-$720) - JJ ECC99 (from Tube Depot) - Tung-Sol 6x4W blackplate (from Brent Jesse Recording) - Philips/Mazda 6BM8 from 1969 (from Brent Jesse Recording) This phono stage was the late George Wright's Signature/Statement design for vinyl playback and has been my reference for quite some time. The sound quality is simply fantastic. Variable gain allowing use of both MM and MC cartridges. I've used both types with great results. I have not ran across a cartridge this phono stage cannot drive well. Lots of gain and completely adjustable for each channel. Not excited to let this go, but we are in the middle of a large remodel and trying to free up some cash. If someone is interested in the phono stage without the high value tubes, I am willing to separate. However, this particular tube choice is very nice sounding formula and highly recommend for the new owner. Let me know if you have any questions. $1750 shipped for everything.
  20. Here are some other pics of the preamp...
