  3. It was at a Montana VANNS store. Last one in the store in my city. There are two open box units with full warranty on the vanns.com website right now for $450.00 The one in the store was 20% off (open box sale). The sub was sealed and not opened when I got it home. I call myself lucky on this one. -reads
  4. Well - Picked it up for $399.77 with 12 months no interest. What a difference a sub upgrade can make. This thing sound good in the basement. -reads
  5. Thanks - Room is 12' x 24'. Thanks for the heads up on the aftermarket amp. RSW-10D is $400.00 from an authorized reseller. -reads
  6. Also - If I do this, is anyone needing parts for their SW-12? I suppose we could part mine out. -reads
  7. I may pull the trigger on a new sub. My SW-12 is on a bypass machine since the amp went humm-ville. I am using an Audio Control c101 to recurve an old Pioneer amp to power the 'ol girl right now. I wonder how the RSW-10D will match my CF3's and Academy rear surrounds. Still running the KV-3 for center duty. I am unable to demo the sub before I buy. Looking for home theater duty only. Any opinions? -reads
  8. Looking at the flights, I would get in pretty late, so looks like Thursday would be the ticket for me. My wife is from Dixon, IL -- I really do not like the 24 hour trips in the car -- I think Indy would be 30+ hours straight. I will hold on for a while to see what develops. I have been wanting to attend for a long time now! When I was younger, I spent all my time browsing the Klipsch offerings at "The Stereo Shop" (now defunct). I saved every dime I had when I was younger to build my HT using 100% Klipsch products. After 10+ years, I am still enjoying them! I just noticed -- I have been registered on this forum for 5 years as of last month -- Where does the time go? -reads
  9. Thanks -- checking on Parts Express now! This sub has been turned on since the mid 90's. When we lost power the amp cooled down. 4hours later, power came back and all we heard was very very loud 60 hz hum. I let it buzz for about two hours and could not take it any more. $240.00 may be worth it as this sub always worked well for me. Looks like parts express has an amp 300-805 with 6db boost @ 30 hz for $99.00 Scared of cutting up the back of my sub, though. The old amp was long rectangle, not a square. Thanks for the heads up!!!! -reads
  10. Quick Questions: Would you recommend flying in Thursday, 21 June 2007? Is the airport far away from Klipsch Indy? Are there any events Friday? What hotel would everyone be nerding out at? I think Klipsch should transport everyone around in a bus that looks like a RF series tower speaker -[]- kinda like the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile. Plenty of time to pull that off by June . . . .. . . . .. . .. just kidding! Looks like airfare is about $500.00 right now. Thanks for any input! -reads

so b=black or b=b-stock hmmm. . . . [:|] Cool -- I may just pull the trigger and work on the sw-12 some other day. -readzzz
  12. Is 775.00 a good price for a RSW-12? It is from a Klipsch Authorized dealer. Would it compare to a SW-12? Thanks! Linky **EDIT** 3-day FedEx Included
  13. Anyone have the EQ curve of the SW-12 cabinet? I was thinking of an external AMP maybe kinda . . .. ... .
  14. Still have not located the problem as of yet -- Anyone else tried a component level repair on the SW-12 amps? Thanks guys!!! [Y] -reads
  15. Hey Briert! I pulled the amp tonight and I am going to look at the connections with a magnifying glass tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion! [] I wonder what the techs at Klipsch usually do for this issue? Scott
  16. Hi Guys I was searching the forums and this seems to be a common occurance with the AMP in the SW-12. I was getting a humming sound from the sub (not the 3prong adaptor issue). The hum got louder and louder. We lost power in the house one day, and the sub gave a very very loud 60HZ hum after the power came back on. I had to shut it off because it would not quiet down. Is there a common failure or issue with the original SW-12 amps? Is it a specific component(s) and or cold solder issue? I hate to give up on this sub! Thanks guys! -Scott
  17. Would the c-7 match my cf-3's better for sound?
  18. I may have to sell my two Walnut Academy Center Channel Speakers. They have consecutive serial numbers and have only been used as rear surrounds since new. Any ideas of a decent asking price?

  20. I would like to see a competition for the worst Rats Nest behind an audio rack. I will submit my entry shortly. Scott
  21. I have cf-3's and use academy's as the rear surrounds and a kv-3 as the center.
