  1. Below the knob it says 15" horn tweeter. So i'm guessing it's for the lows, but it doesn't sound any different when all i play throw them are lows.
  2. i have a pair of magnavox s-8766 floor standing speakers, and it has this min/max knob on the back of it. I was wondering what the knob is for, i don't really notice any change from it. The speakers are from 1972 or so and i can't find a manual or anything on them, they were my dads but he doesn't know anything about them. Also i'm only using them for 20-80hertz, so i only use the 15" sub in them. If anybody knows what the knob does for these that would be great i'm sure it's on other speakers also. They're air suspension speakers also what does that mean? thanks.
  3. I was wondering if i could just get only bass to come out of my reciever to 2 front speakers. I have a complete different independant set of 5 speakers for vocals that don't run off of the reciever. The 2 front speakers have 15" subs in them and are powered by the reciever. I was wondering if i could just take a rca cable that splits the lfe channel into 2 rca outputs and put them directly into rca ins on the reciever, i tried with just a rca cable to one speaker but got nothing. So i'm just curious is there anyway to get it so i can output just bass on these speakers, or anything below 65hertz.
  4. I found the model and brand name of the speakers, they're magnavox s-8766 i couldn't find them anywhere on the web. Not sure if that helps anybody out or not.
  5. The reciever is a KLH 5100 or something really close to that i'm at school right now. the reciever was bought really cheap only really need it for was the amp. I basically send all audio into my audio sound card and send it back to reciever and out to the speakers. I'd like to use optical or coaxial inputs but i get no bass then.
  6. I have 2 floor standing speakers not sure of model they're from 1972 though. They have 15" subs in each one. I can't get any bass out of them when using optical cable or coax cuz it sends it to the LFE output thingy. I can use just simple RCA cables to get bass from them but not very high quality. I was wondering how i could get bass out L and R speakers (they are powered by the reciever)? I was thinking i could take 1/8" mini stereo jacks coming out of my audigy soundcard on the computer, get the adapter to rca jacks and hook all 6 channels into my reciever as coming through a DTS thingy. And combine L and LFE channels together (A rca mono splitter, cept have the 2 channels go in as 2 and into the reciever as one rca jack, not sure if it will add onto the other channel or interfear).
  7. does anyone know of something that will allow me to have to different cable inputs and switch between them. But, i need 5 outputs, and different inputs would be going to different outputs each time, plus allowing one of the imputs to become an output of the other. email me at reynardm@charter.net if someone know how to do this.
  8. Took me about 2 hours just to read this post, just wanted to comment on it. Does this post relate to anything important at all??
