  1. Hahh That means you are a tragic like me 😃😃 Keep on spinning my friend 🤟
  2. That is a beautiful Yes debut album - just one of many that came after Now you’re hooked 😃
  3. Thank you for the comment At first some trial and error was needed with countless listening tests until I got it just right for my listening room I haven’t actually measured the bass itself but have a graph of general (non scientific measurements) - but to my ears the bass would be in the mid to low 30 Htz range Blue line in the graph is bass
  4. This is the last Slade album in the collection but still in the 80s The band added some keyboards to the formula in this release but not everyone liked it But my take is that a band needs to move forward or they go stale so this is an underrated sleeper album that you need to listen to a few time to get the essence Artist - Slade Title - Rogues Gallery
  5. Sometimes it’s good to hear a CD just to go back to vinyl and say YES that listening to vinyl is so much better
  6. Yep I’m out of the closet now - but I promise you ! Only one more LP to go unless I replace a missing Slade Alive album on the next record fare
  7. Heading into the 80s now with the 11th album They came back with a great album after trying to break into the American market and punk music Then new American band’s copied the formula to great success Artist - Slade Title - The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome
  8. The cover above looks like Chuck Norris 😎
  9. Tell them your mate from Australia said to pull their finger out and fix or send a replacement Mani
  10. That is the only MJ album that I own and was part of a bulk LP purchase Think I already featured it a while back But yes the SQ is very good
  11. Now I’m roasting coffee while listening to the Tony Levin Version
  12. I enjoyed listening to the Mule track you linked during my rock spinning intermission In fact I am playing it again now while replying 😎
  13. Monday morning rock is playing now An album released as the genres of the day were changing This is a great but loud album with some great guitar riffs Artist - Slade Title - Whatever Happened To Slade
  14. I am continuing with my Slade marathon this afternoon What a great album this is - It’s great to hear it again just to put a smile on my face Artist - Slade Title - Coz I Luv You
  15. @JohnJ Explain to yo bro - it’s no different to used car values if pristine you will get more than if it’s abused But that also applies to just about everything collectable
  16. I have a set of pimped DIY La Scalas - originally built by another member and I finished the fine SQ details You probably won’t go to the extreme that this build has gone to but when done right - the SQ is heaven on earth They live with me in Australia Drivers used as as follows Woofers - Crites - CW1526C 15 inch cast alloy Mid Range - Great Plains Audio - GPA 399 Compression driver ( These are made authentic to Altec Lansing specs ) Fitted to a pair of Eliptrac 400 timber mid range horns Tweeters - JBL 2404H Baby Cheeks tweeters. Bass bin extension also fitted Crossovers used are custom Built - as per my build thread - https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/149952-a-crossover-design-on-single-exposed-board/ Please note that some components you see on the video have changed
  17. OK the better half is back from shopping - But I’m not that good at waiting 😃 This is the record haul on the Black Friday sales ( although today is Saturday) we ordered and paid to be collected today - that is smart Anyway 1) Deep Purple - Machine Head, 180 gram limited purple disc 2) Cream - Disraeli Gears, 180 gram remaster 3) Mike Oldfield- Tubular Bells, 180 gram remaster All by back to black vinyl
  18. I sent the wife off to the the Black Friday sales on one condition Go to a local record store and get me these 3 LPs at 20% to 30% off ( will post titles when she returns ) So while she is shopping I will be spinning in peace The Beatles made a movie or two So did Slade - this album is the music from that film Some great songs on this album Artist - Slade Title - Slade In Flame
  19. This next album was made with a California sound to see if the band can crack the US market. This decision was made by some misguided record executive Although the tracks are very good one can see the bands range as musicians Fans liked the album but reviewers did not as the content strayed away from its core genre Artist - Slade Title - Nobody’s Fools
  20. Long live the music Here is one of Jimi playing a Beatles song that was released 2 days before and the Beatles were in the audience
  21. It’s time for a live album now I should have waited till midday to play it as it’s very hard rock and intense A story I heard back in the day is that no band ( even Status Quo ) wanted to follow Slade at festivals because they literally destroyed the audience with sound waves - that’s how loud they were Artist - Slade Title - Slade On Stage or SOS
  22. @JohnJ I also had long hair in the seventies but I wasn’t a hippie Because I lived and grew up in a beach town just about all surfies had long hair Look up Newcastle in AU on google earth to see the choice of beaches we went to chasing waves
  23. Following on from the morning spin Another glam rock album and I think that this album is the bands highest selling LP Some of the most memorable tracks are on this album Artist - Slade Title - Slayed
  24. They be skinheads In the late 60s skinheads were a buzz cut then they went bald later on
  25. Yes he was the lead singer with a huge unmistakable voice
