  12. Playing this album on a wet Saturday morning here in Brisbane and not much happening Its the best weather for spinning records and a coffee Not sure if I have seen to much of this band talked about on the forums This album is probably the best release and it’s very enjoyable Artist - Family Title - Bandstand

  16. Are you wearing glasses that you can’t read two lines I posted ??????? You ask someone to measure the exact dimensions from an ORIGINAL UNIT Get it now ?
  17. Mate anyone can get dimensions from an original item It’s not hard to email a friend that has refurbished a set and ask for the dimensions Get the idea now ?
  18. Thats well and good But how does that help me Without hearing my system - How do you know if my system is equal , worse or better than the original Im going to be diplomatic and say that it’s none of the above And finish off and just say that it’s a different flavour Can you just stop with the one liner selective quotes and reply’s- as it’s wearing thin on me I took a good 30 + minutes for me to write a detailed reply and you cheapen it with a crap answer Unless you actually have something constructive and original to say - this will be my last reply to your posts Edit And I still think that you are a prickly Thorny Devil and a thorn in my side And still clueless
  19. If you are trying to help then I need to say that - You offer little help with your one line replies Im not even sure that the reply is yours or a copy and paste from another source Your post also shows a little bit of ignorance And reinforces my earlier assumption that you are naive You selectively quote others - and those selections are cryptic in nature as it’s not the whole picture I don’t know your background, your qualifications, if you have built any speakers / components or if you own any Klipsch Speakers Have stated already, that going back decades that I have built several folded horn speakers and plans using Lowther drivers that predate Klipsch and I would like to think that I’m a pretty good judge if something is good or not I take pride in posting full answers or explanations and if that is not good enough for you then I’ll raise my hands up and give up because with you it’s like talking to a brick wall Further more - I challenge you to visit me in Australia and review my speakers And I will pay for one way of your ticket to do so And I remind you that this thread is about a custom crossover build to bring out the best out of the non standard speakers Now read on - Consider this The year of La Scala production 1963 The availability of suitable materials Cost of all materials and parts Labour cost The price points of other offerings by competitors Any good engineer and Paul Klipsch was a briliant engineer would factor in all these points Using an X number of ply sheets was factored into the design so there was no waste and the design was minimalist It was made affordable and at a competitive price point against other brands No dispute that he designed a great speaker to get maximum sound quality with components available to him But it was designed on sound engineering principles that had a budget and no bullshit Today if you ask another engineer And - If that engineer had no constraints Can you build this product better - The answer would be yes If Paul Klipsch was alive today and the was asked the same question Im pretty sure thar he would also say yes Edit P.S I am a retired engineer
  20. You sir is what we call a prickly thorny devil Without a clue
  21. Mate you have an attention span problem And you don’t read the posts Let’s get this straight The speakers are not Klipsch original ✅ I have stated that The speaker drivers are not original ✅ I have stated that The crossover is not original ✅ I have stated that However based on the alterations to components, what has been created is a finely tuned speaker and subject to a persons point of view better than the original Let’s take an example A race car driver takes delivery of a new car out of a showroom Can he drive that car in a race ? I say no as he will be left behind So he takes that same car and alters the running gear to make it - “Fit For Purpose “ also competitive and safe Now I ask you - Choose a brand of car and insert name - XYZXYZ When you see that altered car driving around the race track and winning races DO YOU say that car is not XYZXYZ because it is enhanced with better parts than a car from the showroom Seriously
  22. Mate you have a bee in your bonnet - I posted a reply back in May and you reply in October Did you actually read the build thread ? If you did - you would have picked up the fact that another member built the speakers and I purchased them and tweaked them to sound so good that it melts your heart I don’t want to be disrespectful but can you please just accept my judgment that the speakers sound superb In past for about 25+ years I have built many horn loaded speakers based on the Lowther drivers so I have a fair bit of knowledge and experience as to what sounds good and what does not PLEASE NOTE - in the quoted section and in subsequent posts - member mach 1 has been a little critical However he has lost face and changed his forum name several times The current name is AXZ Hout
  23. Not long after my first purchase of a Zappa album a friend nudged me to have a listen to the new release In those days record stores would have listening cubicles with headphones to sample records When I heard that Billy The Mountain flattened Glendale I had to have it Guess what the suburb I lived in was named ?.. So It came home with me Anyway I liked this next record release even more because it was even more quirky than Changa’s Revenge Just Love this album And due to this bands name I gave it as a nick name for my mate about 1972 To this day we still call him “mother “ 😁 Artist - Mothers - Frank Zappa Title - Just Another Band From LA —————Rifa ——————————
  24. I’m going on a trip with Frank Zappa over the coming days Spinning now the very first Frank Zappa album that I purchased back about 1970/1 One short instrumental track on this album called 20 small cigars is one track that I use as a test track A great album with multiple genres - rock, jazz, prog, alternative ect, that I really enjoy spinning from time to time Love the quirky material on this record NOTE - on the back cover and I quote “All the vocals in this album are a preview of the story from 200 Motels. Comming Soon. “ Artist - Frank Zappa ( may he Rest In Peace) Title - Chunga’s Revenge
  25. I am just posting this for a future time Once you are ready to record future time A person I respect in the recording industry ✊ US based - Robert Jason He is also a coffee fanatic - but that’s another story http://robertjason.com/
