  1. Would appreciate thoughts & prayers for my son, Jackson. He had a tube surgically implanted in his intestine earlier this year. This morning it came out, so he had to go to the ER.

Prolly going to require surgery to remove a curved part of his intestine...

    Prayers on the way.

  2. Mornin guys. Pretty easy day on tap. We do plan on meeting up with friends in Idaho Springs to night for a while.

Carl ... congrats on raising a fine daughter. We had some bumps in the road for a while, but ours graduated (finally) from college and we're expecting our second grandson in the next few days. Not sure if she'll ever really use that college degree, but at least she has it. Could not be more proud of her.

Cheers guys. Have an excellent day!

  3. Chuck....Jake said to tell Baxter that getting old is hell!

Baxter sends a sympathetic woof to Jake. All we can do with these rescues is to roll with it and get them what they need. Bax is most likely between 3 and 5 yrs so no real problems yet, but (like you), we'll be willing to do what's needed for him as time goes on.

  4. Mornin' all. Great day yesterday. Took my lady and Baxter for a day trip to Mt Evans. The drive to the summit is quite an experience. Pretty narrow with dozens (it seems) switchbacks. Highest paved road in North America, per the Forest Service. Great views, mountain flowers and herds of mountain goats (with herds of idiots getting way too close with cameras). If any of you (Chuck?) are dedicated cyclists who can bike your way up a 14K + foot mountain, you will have company. (Not me).

Have a great day and cheers to all.

  5. Happy Monday gang. Better half is taking a well deserved day off and we're taking a drive up to Mt Evans, a few miles outside of Denver metro. Should be good weather and minimal traffic with the weekend over. Evans is one of a few 14'ers you can access by car rather than climbing - which I do NOT do.

Hope the market comes back soon for all who are still in it. I got out years ago and glad I did. So called 'global economy' stuff is too scary for me.

Have a good day all and, of course, cheers.

  6. Mornin' guys. We went to the ballet last night and it was just ok. My lady loved it so it was all worthwhile. Mostly kept my mouth shut and did NOT wear the tutu as threatened.

Pretty day here except for the haze from widfires in other western states. Creates sinus 'issues.'

Hey Chuck ....Baxter has challenged Jake to a 'sleep off'. :D

    Later guys and cheers!

  7. Happy Sat. gang. Got some georgeous Colorado weather today and an old friend from Longmont dropping by. Better half got us some tickets for an outdoor ballet tonight. I'm more into music than the dance thing but should be fun anyway. Told her I might get a tutu (?) to wear to the event. Decidedly negative reaction so I guess I'll wear khakis.

Have a great day and cheers.

  8. Hey guys ... busy morning so I missed you earlier. Tried to catch up on 'likes' and sorry if I missed any. Other than that (?), I don't have a damn thing to add!!

Gonna try to play some tunes this afternoon. Actually been working on an old (1920's) tune by Jelly Roll Morton of all things. Fun stuff. Later .....

  9. Top of the Monday, guys. Hope the weekend was good. Still listening to the albums we picked up Sat at the vinyl stores. Pretty good stuff. Worked outside yesterday then did some marinated pork steaks over hickory with sauce. Turned out pretty good but will probably smoke 'em next time for more tenderness.

A turntable maker, eh?? That is way beyond me but look forward to seeing some pics and how-to's.

Gotta run and hit the eyeglasses store. Cheers to all.

  10. Hey all...happy Sunday ... got done with the yard work yesterday and canned the plans to hit thpe local festival. Too damned hot. Headed up to Boulder and hit a couple of local record shops looking for vinyl. Picked up a bunch of stuff from Dylan's "basement" sessions to Chris Hillman to Boz Scaggs. Would have been cheaper to attend the festival but probably not as much fun. Capped the day off by grilling some brats and watching the Kevin Bacon movie 'Cop Car.' Highly recommended.

    Enjoy your day, everyone.

  11. Mornin' all. Gonna hit the yardwork for a while and then we're heading out to a local festival with live music, circus acts, etc. Looks like fun. My better half insists that we get out of the house and take in a new event or location every weekend and she's right ... it's fun and good for us. Lots to do when we take the time to figure it out in advance.

Have a great Saturday and +1 to Chuck's (Tarheel's) cheers.

  12. Mornin' all.  I just can't make myself put a 'like' on that selfie. Glad I wasn't eating breakfast. Already had a 45 min talk with my daughter in Germany. She's within a week or two or so of delivering our second grandson. Can't wait but sure wish she was closer.

Gotta run and get the grass cut while it's still cool outdoors. Check back later. Cheers.

  13. Good to hear. May be worth remembering to contact the feds when an interstate transaction is involved. And ... it's often a lot cheaper to get restitution through law enforcement agencies (assuming they will cooperate and crime is involved) than hiring a lawyer and suing. Anyway...good to hear of a positive outcome.

  14. Mornin' folks .... moving a bit slow but all is well. Very good concert at Red Rocks last night ....Diana Krall put on a fine show with her own excellent group of musicians who were backed (on some numbers) by the Colorado Symphony. Nature's accoustics in that place are amazing. If you ever get a chance to go, please do it. Highly recommended.

MKP ... thank you for sharing that story. Those of us who need wake-up calls tend to get them. The important thing is to heed that call ...and you did.

Everyone have an excellent day and cheers!!

  15. Diana Krall....good score to the wife Chuck.  Diana is a cutie even if she couldn't sing. Take Baxter and see if he can howl in tune.

Sorry to hear about your injury Luther...I'm sure that's a drag.

MKP.....what in the world were you doing to get banged up like that?

Wax job update....everything but the top is done.  Must wait for shade for that.  I didn't mention I don't have a garage so the Volvo sits in the elements 24/7.  So I'm guessing wax is a good thing

    Great story Christy!

    Cheers Ladies :emotion-44: and Gents

Baxter will be attending as our deliquent child dressed in a leather hat, bomber jacket and wearing shades. No one will know. Woof to Jake.
