  1. I've read that on the website. I wasn't complaining about the cost or questioning it, just saying that it will be expensive for me at this time to buy three. If I knew that I like them much better, I'd buy in a heartbeat. I could recoup some costs by selling the Crites. I know that I like the Crites now, but from what I've been reading, it seems to me that I may like the others better. If I misunderstood the point of your post, I apologize. Just wanted you to know I understand why the higher price and if it seemed like I was complaining, I wasn't.
  2. Yes, that's what I'm going to do. I'd just hate to buy 3 crossovers and then like the Crites better. If there is no way that I can hear the DeanG crossovers, I'll probably just go with another set of Crites. Three sets of DeanG crossovers are expensive.
  3. Looks like the second time worked. Sorry about that.
  4. I don't know what happened. I just tried posting it again, hope it works.
  5. For some reason, my original post is not showing, so here it is again. I know this is probably a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone has a pair of DeanG crossovers that I could borrow to see if I like them. I bought a pair of La Scalas that already had the Crites A/4500 crossovers and CT125s in them. I recently bought a second pair to have a center. These have the type AL crossovers that need to be replaced. Now I could just buy some more Crites, but I have read so many good things about Dean's crossovers, that I'd like to try them. I'd hate to buy them and then end up liking the Crites better. I see on DeanG's website that he does not offer returns. Is there anyone who has heard both and can give me any their opinion? Any help, info or suggestions with be greatly appreciated
  6. Oh, sorry. I wasn't paying attention to the color. I should have noticed that. You're not being picky, just want all the speakers to match. I would too.
  7. How much do used RSW 15s normally go for?
  8. Don't know if looked over there yet or not, but there are some for sale on the AudiogoN site.
  9. Thanks everyone. I haven't had the chance to listen to it yet, hopefully have some time tonight.
  10. I picked up this cd at the local Goodwill yesterday, The Very Best of Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops On the back is has a warning: Caution: Digital Sound Effects of high levels with infrasonic frequencies to 5 Hz. Please establish safe playback levels before playing. Excessive playback levels could result in damage to equipment. Has anyone seen this warning on a cd before? This is the first time I've bought a cd of this type before, so I don't know if this warning is normal or not.
  11. I'll have to check that out, never heard of it before. Thanks
  12. Lol. Well, I'm the one that likes the speakers, he really doesn't care. He doesn't understand why I want more. Right now it's just a money issue, have been spending too much lately with Christmas.
  13. Just saw he edited his post and will ship, but looks like rockhound may get them. Hubby said no anyway, in the last 6 weeks we've bought 2 pairs of Lascalas and he says that's enough for now. Maybe one day I'll get lucky and another pair will come up.
  14. Wish these were close to me, I've been looking for a pair locally for a year:(
  15. Found one! Sounds SO much better than my ipod. Listening with a big smile on my face right now. Happy holidays to everyone!
  16. prerich I didn't know that about the chromebox, saw asus and assumed windows. Apple is about all I know about. awsjr Thanks for the link to the mac mini. I'm looking for a mid 2010 and up, that one is older than I would like, but thanks anyway. I appreciate the help.
  17. I appreciate the suggestion and that you were trying to help. Thanks Thaddeus
  18. This will be for my main music system, with my Lascalas. Right now all I have is a cd player and my ipod for music with them. The macs are just so much better than the ipod. Ipod sounds fine with my RF83s and WF35s, but not on my Lascalas. I mean it doesn't sound BAD, I just want some better quality coming to my speakers. Can really tell the difference with the Lascalas.
  19. The mac mini can do 24/96. I have music from HDTracks that I would like to listen to, so I think that the mac mini would be better for me. Plus I would also like to be able to watch the visualizer on my tv. Can the apple tv do that? I don't know much about them.
  20. Did notboating buy these from you? I need these for a single LaScala I just bought if notboating doesn't want them and you'd like to sell. Thanks
  21. Thanks. I'll probably only use itunes on it, so don't need an upgraded one. Hopefully I can find a mid 2010 model, should be all I need.
  22. prerich, I'm sure the mac mini is what I want, don't want anything windows. I have an imac and hubby has a macbook pro, we love them. Left windows about 6 yrs ago and have no desire to go back to it. I want it to put upstairs with my la scalas for music. I have my imac in my office connected to my harman kardon 1565 with the wf35s, so I just need something small for upstairs. Will just hook the mac mini to my tv and to my harman kardon 1710 with optical cable, that way I can watch the itunes visualizer on the tv while I listen to my music. Right now I have my ipod hooked up and the quality is just not good enough. Sounds much better with the imac and macbook pro.
