There was a 348/409 derived 427 and there was a new 427 “porcupine” motor that was the big block used as 396, 427, and 454 for decades. The 409 was successfully used in the short bursts of drag racing, but tended to blow under the sustained high RPM conditions of NASCAR.
Chevy and Junior Johnson debuted the new 427 in 1963 at Daytona 500, much to the chagrin of Ford and Chrysler. IIRC, the new 427 was banned until production numbers justified calling it “stock,” rather than a prototype.
FWIW- For the 1970 model year the 396 was bored 0.03 in (0.76 mm), resulting in a 402 cu in (6.6 L) engine. Despite this, the motor was still badged as a 396.

I'm not exactly sure when the 265 engine was completely dropped by Chevy, but it was probably at or just after the introduction of the 283 which first showed up in Chevys in 1955...which was the parent of many different Chevy engines...and still is....the 327, 350, and a few others...for decades, now!
I beg to differ- I've never heard of a stock '55 Chevy with a 283. Not till '57, I think.

Darn you guys! I just found a Fender Telecaster that i think i need. Not that i need another guitar; but, i’ve had a hole in my heart since i stupidly got rid of a telecaster back in 1991. I don’t want to blame myself for this purchase -- so i’m blaming all of you. That’s what friends are for right?
If that's what it takes to fill that hole in your heart, I think it's a done deal. Hopefully it's the only hole in your heart.

Pierre Trudeau, Justin Trudeau's Dad, when asked how he could stay in power through all the twists and turns of Canadian politics
said "It's simple. I have a French name, think like an Englishman and look like an Indian. We all feel very guilty about the Indians here in Canada."
Here we go again.

Thanks for the clarification, oldtimer. Anyway, as JohnJ commented, it may be true for some emotional near-killer experiences, but in the area of bodily health, it's almost always wrong. Most serious injuries, especially the ones that nearly kill you, almost always change your life in a negative way, not a positive one.
This is bit of a pet peeve for me, since it's kind of personal. A bit over twenty years ago, I was seriously injured and spent six months in hospital. I recovered to some degree, but my life was certainly changed, and I definitely didn't feel stronger. I'd be very happy to get back to the strength I had before the injuries, but there's no chance of that.
While I'm on the subject of pet peeves, another one is people who say someone is lucky, after they survive some kind of terrible incident. For instance, someone could lose a leg in a building collapse, or a serious highway crash. There will almost certainly be someone who thinks they're being helpful by commenting how lucky the victim is, because he could have been killed. Believe me, someone who's lying there in intensive care with life-changing injuries does not feel lucky in any way.
Okay, end of rant. Please try to avoid both of those very unhelpful comments. Just be kind and caring. That will help your unlucky friend much more than some witless comment.
Sorry to turn the discussion in a dark direction. Weren't we talking about food, fun, and beer? Le's get back on topic!
And then the old - "In serious condition with non life threatening injuries". Been and am there. Ouch!
Thumbs up to the 'food, fun and beer'- getting old, didn't we forget something? Oh, under 'Fun'

My great granddaughter is now over 2 yrs old. I shudder to think that I was (and am) partially responsible for what she and her generation will be facing.

"I don't care about that, my mother's sisters were all dual citizens having been born in North Dakota. If they were still alive and running for office, I would vote for either of them"
So would I.

Homemade Hot Mustard
At dinner the other night, we had home smoked ham and bratwurst-among lots of other seasonal foods- I was missing home made hot mustard.
I used to make my own but it's been a long time. I remember---
Keen's dry mustard
Honey and or brown sugar
Vinegar
I don't remember any other ingredients or ratios.
Anybody?

I've been telling my wife for many years, "A man can never have to many clamps."

Along with the chicken's neck (which my Dad and I fought over) we also chewed and sucked on the feet.
That was a very long time ago. Sound's yucky now but food was short and it tasted good.
Nine in the family-nothing was wasted.

Seems I always had a problem with:
"ability to work as a team member, being precise while following policies and procedures".
Sheeple talk.

The Klipsch WA-2 wireless Sub adapter works works great. My sub is about 20+ ft away from receiver.
Saves a bit of laying/routing cable.

I have fired a few bosses in my life though.
Ya Ya. I've always said "I've punched more bosses than time clocks".

It all looks so good but the "stuffed longshots" grab me. Do stuffed bell peppers all the time but could spice that up.
What kind of peppers are these - hard to get a big variety of peppers here in 'the great white north'. Sausage or gr. beef?
(Google was no help)

CORRECTION: That’s three Molsons and FOUR Tequilas now. That will be it for me tonight though ... as a retiree, this is a busy time of year for me. I need to get up in the morning and do whatever I want ... again.
Today's prices on Molsons Canadian in Canada. There are no 'Sales'. Beer is very rarely less than $2. buck a can or bottle. +tax.
Wondering what you pay.

Add a 1/4-1/2 tsp of baking powder while whisking. Oh so fluffy.
Hot sauce or Salsa later. If you need ketchup - go to McDonalds.
