I would look at the source that the sound is coming from.and the machine like blu ray player. Xbox.playstation. roku. Cable or satle lite. Look at bit stream and hdmi or 5.1. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Yes i have the rp 250 home theater. And like it a lot. Dialong is crisp with the 440c and the 240s are pretty sweet too. And the 250s dont swallow my living foom either overall i am pleased. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Personally i like sony best bang for buck i think. But you also have sonos wich is pretty good. Yamaha makes good ones also. But the sony st9 is nice but its 1500.00 on sale for 1299.99. So if budget is an issue you can get a cheaper sony 300- 500. Vizio makes real good budget for about 300. As well as yamaha. So depends. I 100% agree. In my home theater world, the center is the most important speaker, followed closely by the L/R You would find a good 3.1 setup is vastly superior to a mediocre 5.1 for the same money spent. I agreed. At first i thought i could get by with a phantom center, but realised i did not like the way it panned around. And sometimes the mix would sound funny.Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

I would step into the klipsch rp 160m .and leave the bestbuy stuff alone with the discount you could proble get some good refrence premiere bookshelf speakers. Or go with the refrence ii rf 62. And diffrent sub woofer. Just food for thought. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Ill try to explain. When i listen in stero 2.1 movies voices sound more smooth and open. Then when i use the center or 5.1 the voices sound more muffled or confined . Not as smooth .open or natural. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Seems like my rp250 c sounds a little boxy. Not as smooth as my rp250f in stero. 2.1 ,but what is weird is that they have same tweeter and crossover at 1800 but the cabinet is obviously bigger on the floor stander.
