  1. It only has an inch on top but it's open

That sounds like your problem. My Onkyo TX-SR705 ran real hot while I had it on a shelf with an inch of clearance. I added a low profile fan that pulled the heat out of the top and expelled it out the front and back of the shelf. The internal temp dropped over 20F degrees.

thanks bill, while I have your guys ears, at really high levels my tweeter on one side of my mains crackles , is this bad

There's your issue...needs more space for air to circulate/heat to dissipate.
thanks I pulled it out and it was better immediately,

  3. It is nice. I really can't see needing another one. I went from 2 RSW10's to the

"MONSTER ". It completely transform my system.

    Enjoy

  4. About the only way this MIGHT work is to use it nearfield.

im not really worried that it won't I just figured since the receiver is 7.2 it may, remember I'm pretty new at this, but if it seems a bridge to far than screw it, I'm sure the 18 will do, my room has had its dimensions change since last time we figured it out( new size (24'x14')so it's a bit smaller now

  5. I bet once you hear your new sub you realize how not very good the sw-112 is and put it up for sale.[/quote

Your probably right scrappy, the funny thing is I don't find it that bad, now that I am going to have anew receiver my old one can go down stairs with my old Polk speakers and instead of using the 8 inch Polk sub I'll throw that one down there, kids will love it!

  6. I have heard of people successfully matching different subs in a single setup. But for this set of subs in this setup, I don't know. I also don't know what technique was used to blend them, if they were set differently or the same. It seems to me the smaller sub is placed closer to the main LP to give a more visceral experience, ie chest thump especially with music.

Kelly, do you have any interest in some trial and error trying to blend your subs, or do you want to get down the bottom line and get on with your listening?

Either way is fine, it's all good.

yeah I'll give it a try

  7. We had a PSA sub Tom V. sent to a gtg and outstanding build quality. He said we could open it up but, I told the guy let's not. He has already been generous. Top notch customer service to help you get up and running.

Time to get a signature posted Kelly. :D

I actually picked up on that the short time I was on the phone, I'm not used to being treated like a customer so I was pleasantly surprised

  9. A couple months ago I was looking for some recommendations for a sub and receiver, being from Canada things are a lot more expensive! Well I finally pulled the trigger this morning and they should be in Nova Scotia by Friday, I ended up getting Denon x4100 and psa v1800!!! Super exited!!post-59118-14471058780598_thumb.jpgpost-59118-14471058906646_thumb.jpg
