  1. What amp are you using with your CF's? I am currently using a Yamaha AX-570 100wpc.
  2. the networks can but the woofer are different as far as I know. Rev 3 still a fine speaker. Best regards Moray James. I believe the horns changed after version 1 as well, I read somewhere the originals had a greyish tinge to them. I like my 3's. Bob
  3. can the version 3 be brought back to version 1 or 2?
  4. I believe even if they are version 3, they are still a pretty good speaker. I do agree that 1 or 2's would be ideal, but the 3's were ok too.
  5. I currently own a pair of walnut CF-3's purchased new about 1994, they are either late series 2 or early series 3. I like them them and agree with the above comments. What kind of amp are you using the cf-3's with. I am currently using a Yamaha AX570 100wpc and they seem to like this amp. I had a tube amp for a bit and use them briefly with tubes but not long Does anyone know of a impedance graph/curve for these speakers? I would like to see it. Bob
  6. Does anyone know of a impedance curve graphic for CF3's? Also would this be considered a tube friendly speaker? I have heard that a general some Klipsch like more power as well. Bob
  7. Hi, Sorry for the delay in responding. I am close to making a decision. The SET I was thinking about was the Wright Audio Lolita a EL34 based, but I think I will be going to try a the Rogue Audio Sphinx which is a hybrid getting good reviews and would have nice power. There is also a Rogue dealer near me so I demo the piece. I might also consider their Cronus Magnum, but for the price the Sphinx is tempting. I appreciate hearing from fellow CF-3 owners Thanks Bob
  8. This is an interesting test done by Audio Society of Minnesota, although it is a blind test of speaker cables none the less it is interesting. The link is below Bob http://www.stereophile.com/content/minnesota-audio-society-conducts-cable-comparison-tests-0
  9. I own CF-3's and am thinking about all tube, but the hybrid looks like a good option and still get some tube benefits. I also heard that some Klipsch like more power.
  10. Hello, does anyone have experience using the Rouge amps with various Klipsch, in particular the Sphinx? Thanks Bob http://www.rogueaudio.com/Products_sphinx.htm
  11. I own CF-3's and have also been looking into the Wright Lolita, Decware Rachel, and Coincident Dynamo. I heard people have good results with Klipsch and SET's, but i have also heard that Klipsch repond well to more power. I am going to think about the Rouge Sphinx hybrid which is getting very good reviews and maybe have a bit of both worlds. Bob
  12. Hi, I, just posted this in the 2 channel audio section, here is what I said there; I am considering running my CF3's on 8 watts SET. I listen to classical with some large orchestral, will this be enough power? I previously used a Yamaha solid state with 100 wpc. My other option would be a hybrid integrated. Please tell me what you think. I don't listen at really high levels, the Yamaha seemed to have plenty of power, not sure I needed that much. My room is about 12'x20', wood floor with a large area rug, partially open on one side, window and drapery on the other Thanks
