  1. My feelings are not hurt... you give yourself far too much credit. (lol) You're just a walking contradiction & I'm happy to point it out.

edit: You can't even get the "troll thing" worked out.  My discussion was with wvu80 (not you) but as always you made it about you. You troll every post I make... even to claim you can outrun a T-Rex.

  2. It doesn't exclude it either. so rather a moot point. I was demonstrating to wvu80 examples where one could place items on their subs should they wish... which was his question. But you are funny. Just a month ago you were mocking those who purchased $1500 subs... yet today to praise an example that cost $4000.

  3.

I don't know if you've heard (or felt) a Danley. My wife seems to be thawing where I can bring one in and use it in lieu of a table as a support for the TV. I think I could live with the raising the TV up a bit.

I know people use those big subs to hold TV's and audio gear, but I really don't see how the equipment would last.  It seems to me like putting your gear on paint mixer, you would think it would shake everything to pieces, literally.

I have a question for those of you who have heard the horn loaded subs.  How do they sound for "everyday" audio?  For instance if you have them hooked to your living room setup?  Do they have they have to be "loaded" and played loud to get that great sound you guys talk about, or can they be played at lower levels and still give a nice full sound?

I know I haven't asked my question very well, I lack the words to describe sound.

    Not all cabinets are created equal. Here's a perfectly still (18" x 23.5" x 22.5" ... 122lb) sub @ 117dB

  4. Good early morning yet again

Coffee tasting great after an Oxyclean, cleanout this morning.

Trash is at the curb and my day is over.

Luckily a year on Mercury is only 88 (earth) days... while a full day on Mercury is 176 (earth) days. A full day is nearly 2 years long. Mondays' still suck... but at least you get to celebrate about 14 New Years, Birthdays & Christmases before the next Monday rolls around.

  5. Ok let me get this straight.  Perceived wisdom in building a system is to start with the speakers and go from there, fiddlin an doodlin and poking around until you got it right.

So you're sitting there admiring your endeavors and listening, of course, to some righteous p-funk..  You got your amp, pre-amp, dac, cd transport, table with SUT, PUT, LOMC, clamp, brush, needle brush, and a magic eraser just in case.  You've got a power cleaner the size of a bank vault, miscellaneous exotic tubes, hospital grade power cords, speaker wire woven from the pubic hair of vestal virgins, oxygen free too to boot, (it's the lack of oxygen that gives your system that "breathless" feeling),  and rca's designed at Lawrence Livermore Laboratories and spun in a weightless environment aboard the space shuttle.  You've got your magic pebbles sitting on top of your speakers next to your well-watered household plants, and all the wires are sitting atop sandalwood blocks carved by Buddhists monks in an ashram high in the mountains  of Tibet.

Then some idiot cons you into fiddling your crossover.  Next thing you know, you've got to switch tweeters, then the mids don't match up well with 1/4 watt SET amplifier, so you switch that out for a push-pull, but now your bottom end needs work so you change the woofer, which throws off the values on the coupling capacitors, which requires you to add an extra quarter gram of tracking force on your cart, which causes sibilance when the Fat Lady sings.

And it goes downhill from there until one day, drunk and despondent you borrow a gun from a neighbor who has a "Guns Are Our Friends" sticker on his pickup truck and blow your brains all over those well-watered plants sitting so nicely atop your speakers and those cute little magic pebbles.

"Hey Maurice, wait up!  What's this "pompitus of love" thing.  Does it involve a pompadour, because I'm, somewhat hair challenged.  Oh and..."

I agree... what's wrong with these people... who puts well watered plants on top of their speakers??

  6. 2 great choices... you'll enjoy them both! My X4100W has been in place for over a year now & it has provided a tremendous HT experience. I don't have your & oldred's V1800 from PSA, but my dual XS15's are outstanding examples from PSA. You're gonna have fun setting up the new gear. Congrats.

  7. Dude's

. . . I liked Jurassic world cause I got to try out my new sub...... It's only a movie..

Nismo.... That alone for you should have made it somewhat bearable.....Remember..... 2 new subs is twice as nice

Your vented 18 must be a lot of fun to have anchoring your system. Not always easy to choose a sub from ID... but glad your PSA was the right choice. I'm very happy, love mine... the system is rockin' ! My Jurassic World disc was a day one purchase, really wanted to like it... but I guess I fall into the (27 pages) of one star reviews & comments posted on Amazon. No biggie, no right or wrong... people can love & hate a lot of different movies. When I wanna showcase my dual downward firing PSA's, I'll reach for San Andreas (wow) or Mad Max. Plenty of demo worthy moments there. Good stuff. Enjoy your new V18 !!

  8. edit: @ Tasdom... sorry pretty sure I did not reveal any spoilers. Safe to say one can expect that people, kids will be chased by dinosaurs in a Jurassic Movie.  But, seems Metro likes to contradict anything I say. Usually I just ignore him (lol). Since many of his post include (insert product here:____________ ) for what he sells or is a dealer for. Ignoring him in the future will reduce my spam intake & I'll be healthier in the long run. BUt the dude said he could outrun a T-rex?!? How could I leave that alone. :D  I'm just here to talk speakers, audio & movies. But I can't even do that without made up stories of me working for Atmos. LOL

Hey how's the weather?? How bout them Bears! Da' Bers !

  9.

You are hilarious. Defending the movie, by making claims you could outrun a T-Rex.... and providing "stats" to confirm it. LOL

What's silly is that we're talking about a movie where they create pseudo-dinos for fun, chase them down in ATV's made out of a glass ball, go hunting for a T-rex killer who can make himself invisible to infrared optics, with what appears to be a danged 30/30 and pet raptors equipped with nightvision cameras, and the most ridiculous thing you can come up with is that somebody outran one.   :)  The entire thing is unrealistic, just like every other blockbuster movie.  Go watch some indie love stories of you want realism.

Oh no... not just that. I could go on & on about the dumb characters & ridiculous plot. Too many to choose from. Your're the one who claimed he could outrun a super-hybrid man eating dinosaur... the same dinosaurs btw that somehow managed to outrun Jeeps, motorcycles & Armored SUV's.  Perfect example. Staff didn't want to kill the mega dino, because he was too valuable at $26 million... but were perfectly fine risking the lives of  20,000 human visitors daily. I guess the people were only valued at $1300 bucks each. Easy choice, because I was rooting for the dinosaurs too.

  10. Any reference I made in regards to San Andreas... was about the audio being impressive. Never made any reference pro or con about the actual movie.

You are hilarious. Defending the movie, by making claims you could outrun a T-Rex.... and providing "stats" to confirm it. LOL

  11.

Much like the guest & visitors to Jurassic World... I think I'd like to have my money back. Didn't care for the movie at all. It seemed derivative, repetitive, & unoriginal. Reminded me of a bad Sci-fi Channel movie on TV with poor casting & poor acting. For well over a year all I heard was... "Chris Pratt, he's so amazing, today's latest action star". Really? I didn't get that at all. Can't think of one character that was interesting or that I wanted to root for (most were extremely dumb). I was bored watching it. Oh well.

Silliness. This movie is awesome. Chris Pratt is awesome in an old school way. The scene with him and the raptors with the motorcycle is one of the best scenes in movie history. They did a good job of taking the original franchise and updating it for modern times, while giving plenty of nods to the older movies such as bringing back the jeeps. Easily my kids favorite movie period. Having some other fans over tomorrow night, they invited themselves because they wanted to see it on my system. Bonus: Jimmy Buffett is in it.

Only thing that wasn't cool was that it is WAY more violent than the originals. I don't care but I've got a 6 year old who is into it. There's ways of planting the idea of violence without actually showing the gore and blood. The original did a better job of this. I was shocked with a few scenes but we're fans of the original trilogy and are used to that. By modern standards it's nothing that out of the ordinary.

Scene after scene, every character on the screen was trying to out dumb each other. When man eating dino was running loose killing everything in sight & VIP kids were missing... an hour later (despite a heavily staffed central command & communication center, security cameras everywhere), 2 bored military guards saw the kids approaching & they looked at each other confused, & had no clue of what was going on.

You could have replaced the real "Chris Pratt" with a cardboard cutout of "Chris Pratt" and received a better performance with more emotion, energy & likability.   Oh yeah... how exactly did the redhead manage to keep outrunning dinosaurs?? (LOL) It was like one of those cheesy parody movies, I had to fight the urge to fast forward more than once.

  12.

Haaaa ! Must be a glitch in the system. I don't even need 5,000 posts to access the BS section !! LOL

Instead of the thread crapping, why don’t you help out Mustang Guy’s son with the survey in the first post?

    https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/160146-minimum-wage-should-it-be-15/#entry1940862

Actually, as I think about this, why do you feel the need to post this type of condescending remark criticizing and devaluing those of us attempting to delve into this topic and thread crap?  History on this forum seems to show that posts of this nature only tends to serve to attract other thread crappers.  Why are you trying to derail this thread?  Are you trying to get it locked?

You must have some type of corollary experience since you seem to have gotten very defensive in your ATMOS threads in what you seem to have construed as thread crapping.  Did they ask you if you had some type of financial interest related to sales surrounding ATMOS?

Also, please note that I have not posted in your ATMOS thread since I do not have anything constructive to add and note that I have not thread crapped in those threads.

If you do not want to participate in the discussion, there are plenty of other threads that could interest you; however, please move on from this one if you do not want to participate in an intelligent manner.

LOL. Didn't realize that if I (or anyone) offered their own personal perspective which may be different from the masses it would be considered thread crapping.  Not sure one could even notice thread crapping with the BS so deep in this thread. But thanks for informing me of how I can & how I cannot participate with a particular thread. But hey, the desire to control (my) speech must fall right in line with the desire to control wealth distribution, everyone gets a trophy just "because" & marginalize anyone who does not agree with your views. I like having my own views & the ability to express them... without crying victim status. Post in any Atmos discussion all you want, & if my experience happens to be different than yours I'll not hesitate to offer a counter viewpoint. Never realized that was considered defensive. But, yeah... I do laugh a bit, whenever someone lives in their own fantasy world & fabricates a wonderful story (absent any fact with no basis in reality) that I work for Atmos.Welcome to bizzaro world.

Where are the binding posts located, NIsmo?  Banana plug compatible?

The input allows the 140 to sit flush... even with banana plugs. Make for easy placement & positioning.

  14. Should be the perfect day. I have my coffee maker plugged into my line conditioner (helps to eliminate impurities). And I fabricated a paper in oil cone filter (with a gentle slope) which assists the crossover from the steam pressure mechanism to extract perfect flavor from the grind.  Tastes great brewed by my own hand, because damn if I ever visit a barista that makes $15 an hour.    :D

edit: damn if I ever visit a barista that is mandated to make $15 an hour. If the free market happens to provide $15 all the power to him or her.

  15. Thanks for the informative post.  I'm going to start with buying a single pair of 140SAs (along with an X4200W) to place on top of my RF-7iis and see how I like it and then move on from there.

ICYMI.... here is the 140 sitting on my RF-7. It should give you a good preview:
