Industry standard is 80hz. Personally, I use 60hz - to me it makes the mains and center sound more full. Since most of us only have 1 subwoofer, sometimes you can get some more even bass distribution with the mains at certain frequencies...so I've settled on 60.

I agree. Those centers won't sound anything like each other. You have to mate the center with matching L/R or at least come close to their sonic signature.

What a great center! Those blend perfectly with the extended-heritage line and don't come up too often. Someone should jump on this!

I would echo most comments here. Check to see if there is bass in other parts of the room, check wiring, speaker setup, etc. I had the 280s and they have an incredible amount of bass.

I owned both the II and III. The III are clearer and seem to have more punch.
My particular pair of IIs seemed to go slightly deeper, but I'd choose the III over the II.
However, both sound like heresies at the end of the day...

And 108 is most definitely possible. That's in the 60 watt range, which is definitely doable on short bursts.
Certainly it's still very impressive. Although 120db is INCREDIBLY loud.

...I'm not entirely sure how you would hit 120db peaks at seating position with 50 watts.
The Forte III are 99db. To hit 120 at 1 meter you would need 128 watts...64 if we say both speakers playing the same thing which gives about 3db increase.
If we say you're about 9 feet back, that would be around 9db reduction, meaning you'd need around 500 watts to hit 120 at the seating position.
In a room that big I can't imagine a huge amount of room gain except at the lowest frequencies but perhaps I'm thinking about this all wrong... -

Nice gear, reason for selling out of curiosity?
Downsizing a lot of my systems. Decided just to get an AVR so there was more room for some other things.
Lots of speakers for sale for the same reason.

Great condition and sounds great. The amp is a beast with 120 wpc all channels driven. Weighs about 55lbs.

I'm pretty sure the 150hz minimum is a recommendation for the RP-140SA. No reason to cross a 450c that high - it would make it sound light weight and you'll be able to localize the sub.
