  1. fwiw, I sold a perfect set of rf-5's in cherry for $650 just last fall.

buyer was very happy with the transaction!

if you consider that they are basically floor standing rc-7s, $500 for a pair of rf-5's is quite a deal in comparison to what you'd pay for two rc-7's.

Oil at MINUS $32??  So; when will gas stations start to pay "US" when we fill up? :D

    Likely there NOW.

    ($32) per barrel / 42 gallons per barrel = ($0.76) per gallon.

Figure in roughly 75 cents per gallon for refining & distribution and we are at  1 penny / gallon.

ZERO would technically result in free gasoline, but that's not going to happen.

Easier to print "free" money & distribute to the masses & offer up some industry monetary infusions.

I can confirm for you all that the adaptors linked above do indeed work and are of decent quality... cast aluminum.

Also, the 511b is a noticeable upgrade over stock, even with the original klipsch driver.

Having recently accumulated the necessary components, I completed this same 511b/K55 "configuration test" just yesterday on a beater pair of Cornwalls.  I too am hearing quite favorable results.  I'm looking forward to doing the inverted cabinet orientation next before I make a final decision as to keep or sell them (Corns).

You are being arrogant and personal, knock that off immediately.

I fully disagree as many of Medwin's posts have been supported with various charts, graphs, and links to information to digest & comprehend.

Although he may have a differing view of the market(s), he has supported his premise & shared with us a low risk means to make a few bucks.

Has he sufficiently supported his stance enough to satisfy those following this thread?  Maybe not.

Let it run unless someone gets a$$ hurt over the commentary.

YMMV, and if so, change the channel & stop following this string.

I'm now back to dealing with my Governor's "stay at home order" that is in effect until 4/13/20 :o

Not sure I have enough projects or patience to get through this...........!

We are now out of Bear territory!  Shortest bear ever?

NOT at all what I was conveying.

But rather, if you are investing or trading within an inverse vehicle (VIX, TVIX, puts, etc.) you are speculating that the vehicle in question will have its price increase - correct?

That by definition is a BULLISH stance even though the overall hedge is for the equity markets to decrease.

We surely remain in a BEAR market, but the BULLISH inverse investor capitalizes on these bear market downturns because his inverse vehicle has actually INCREASED in value.

In essence, it could be argued that there is never a BEAR market in place.

    YMMV..............considerably :D

Maybe not for you Jeff M  (Matthews or Medwin???  HAHAHAHAHAHAA)

Anyway, those in the north have to deal with the cold of winter.....  spring comes, things thaw out and all the sudden there is a fresh new happier outlook on life.

This virus thing will have some controls/constraints put onto it.....we are breaking into spring/summer....the sun is coming out.  Once these things happen, the average outlook on life/markets will improve.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it......final answer!

Recently changed my photo which reflects your underlined statement above.

Longer, brighter, better days ahead - fingers crossed that this doesn't become the year.................that wasn't.

  7. There is still truth to the old saying "there's a bull market somewhere" - One only needs to find it.

Since you can speculate, invest, &/or even bet with the various inverse vehicles available, at low pricing levels, & then sell at higher pricing levels for a profit, this is a Bull market if played correctly to take advantage of the offerings.

In these discussions it appears that the TVIX has been at least one of the vehicles available to those seeking cover, shelter, leverage, a hedge, or exposure to potential profits.

Traditional buying opportunities will again surface & hopefully y'all will have ca$h available to act on those opportunities.

If not, you will be looking in the rearview mirror shaking your head and telling yourself if only I had the funds to invest back in...............

I saw this 1st hand with the housing crisis when houses were selling for peanuts but it required CA$H to purchase them & the ability to HOLD those properties for a significant amount of time in order to make the BIG gains.  Converting them into rentals was an option to soften the cost of the holding period but if & only if you trusted a renter to pay you regularly, stay in your rental unit for a length of time, and then not totally trash the place or force you to seek legal assistance to evict them - all added costs to your initial investment.

  8. $2T / 330M persons in the USA = about $6000 per person in stimulus....not likely enough to dig us out of the hole even with an Economics 101 multiplier effect.

Current National Debt = $24T / 330M persons = $72,500 each + the proposed $2T = about $80K of debt load per person in the USA.

(add) debt per person not that long ago was running about $50K per person.  Not many in this nation could write either check amount to get us to even.  It seems everyone was able to "wet their beak" so to speak back in the '09 debacle, now that taste seemingly permeates society as a sense of entitlement of the good life regardless of the work ethic, dedication, commitment to the necessary means to achieve such a level of economic comfort.  There's always exceptions, but if you hustle like you're poor & make it you likely earned it.

    This is great!

    "Ridiculous "offers" are always ignored"

$3500 isn't ridiculous? I guess you can ask whatever you want, maybe someone really wants THAT pair.

    Mark

True, but it only takes one confirmed sale to establish the "NEW" going rate.

One only needs to look at the real estate market to realize this.

Your appraisal modeling & market analysis may vary...........substantially, and it is likely warranted.

  10. @wvu80

Dave's sheet shows the average sale price to be about $1900.

+(When) I see them (listed, they are) regularly (usually) priced between $1500-$2500, so the "sheet" is a good gauge of "average" selling price........from my perspective.

Looks like I may be in danger of keeping these.  Surely someone is looking for 250 WPC in stereo...

When I saw your initial post, I thought it was $600 for BOTH amps.

Be patient, tax refunds are just around the corner !

Consider listing them on the Emotiva site if not done already.
