  1. Thank you both. I'm hoping to find some in good shape. I would prefer original cabinets but I wound't mind if the 'guts' have been upgraded.

What do you guys think about my asking for trade? Would my two pair be about ~ to one or no? I know that's somewhat subjective.

  2. Hello,

I would like to find a pair of La Scala speakers. I remember reading some advice but I don't remember where it was. What type of crossover AA, I think I remember?

    Any other advice?

I would prefer stained wood to black paint.

I'm going post a trade/swap in the garage but I'll check here. I have a pair of Chorus speakers and a pair of Forte II's that I want to trade. both are in good condition except on one chorus one of the terminals is damaged. It's usable but not nicely without fixing.

Let me know any thoughts or advice. Thanks

I'm in Texas, the DFW area. So let me know if you or someone is trying to sell a pair of La Scala's

  3. I bought these but I'm a bit confused. Do they actually have 5-6 channels in or are they duplicating channels. They only have one rca connector per channel not the normal pos-neg/right-left. I read a that digital rca can handle 5.1 channels. Are these digital rca inputs, I don't know how old that  tech is? I bought some y connectors (still shipping);  will those work to go from R/L to the single?

  4.

    That should sound really nice.

    Thanks Carlooch,

I'm a little nervous about the amp. It's pro-audio stuffs and I've got to search for a manual. I'm not even sure what the switches are for!  but looking forward to figuring it out (aka playing :))

Here is a link to the AB International product archive page and a link to the PDF for the 6300A.

  8. As Bill stated, Acurus amps are really nice as well as the old Yamaha M 70 amps.  Depending what you are looking for, the range from around $200 for 2 ch or $600 for multichannel amp.

    Thank U derrickdj1!

but I was asking about preamps/processor. I have the amp covered now!

I've Seen B&K and Krell (older Showcase but still not cheap).

  9. Thank You for all the reply's. I did pull the trigger on the AB International. I have discovered that some preamps have the XLR connections but they do seem to be higher end (if I can just find the right price  ;) ).

I'm on to the preamp/processor and would love more responses on that. I don't mind if they are here or in a new post I created but I imagen the mods would prefer the new one  :) . Eitherway! please keep'm coming!  Thanks Guys/Gals!!!

  10. I think the OP is using his PC as a preamp.  Depending on his sound card - that will determine which adapters he will need.  If hes coming out of 3.5 jacks on his onboard sound he will need 3.5 to rca adapters, or 3.5 to rca stereo cables .....which I also have in abundance.

Wow... that would be perfect! I'm a linux/unix guy but I'm not familiar how to do that. I use my media center to play music files... flac, mp3, or ogg. Any idea what sound card he's using!

  11. "I've got no idea what those connections are though"

It's an XLR and 1/4" combi jack (both balanced or unbalanced).

The basic design is the same as the Leach, a very good sounding design.

So I'm guess there's an adapter or I'll have take it to a shop and change out for rca? I'm still looking for the preamp but I don't think it will have those :)

  12. Hello,

I started with the post here https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/161581-best-old-school-multimedia-amp/ and I did so well ( I believe ) that I thought I'd ask for advice on the last of it!

    Preamp/processor

Have pair of Chorus and Forte II's and bout a massively powered 6 channel amp (see above) AB International. Can you guys/gals help me finish it off! Thank You for any suggestions!

  13.

I got to say that's tempting. Is the sound quality there? Looks  like it's built like a tank!

I've got no idea what those connections are though    :)

  14. For both music and movies a nice avr may be a better choice.  More connectivity and streaming options.  What is the budget?

As low as possible :) but I'm in no real hurry so... probably up to 1k for now but that's more amp than I need. would be nice if I could get everything for that (i.e. preamp/decoder)
