  1. Something funny actually when I was talking to the dealer that the original K horns fell through he told me Klipsch had a mismatched pair they were selling at a great discount. I told him I'd take em but he said he contacted them and they had already given them to a dealer.. Who' know's maybe that explains it. I don't think onecall knew though because I remember when I was speaking with the guy about them when I originally purchased he said they were book matched and all that. The whole problem with this is, there are so many potential problems that could arise like the actual person that loaded them on to the truck more than likely had no idea they were supposed to be matched and just grabbed two somewhere down the line although on the box it does say the serial number and to be matched with ... but unfortunately not many people pay attention to stuff like that.
  2. Just so you know I didn't pay a penny more than what the original K horns cost and who know's could have even been significantly less...
  3. If the topic creator is looking for a pair of la Scala's I actually have a pair for sale. Black not the prettiest they are a bit beat up but work great and given their shape I'll be willing to work out a deal on the price
  4. I've never heard Heresey's but I have had much experience with la Scala's and before that I had (well still do) chorus's and even going from the Chorus to the La Scala I can tell you the sound stage is MUCH larger. If your not familiar with what we mean by soundstage the best way to describe it is in my opinion the soundstage of a La Scala and K-horn is pretty much like your at a concert. It's just so engulfing and the vocals are so in your face. When I first heard the La Scala's and played a live performance just as soon as the crowd start's cheering it honestly takes your breath away. It literally feels like your in the middle of the arena then when they start singing it's enough to bring tears to your eyes. When PWK set out to bring the experience of a live performance into your living room with the K-horn's and La Scala's he succeeded in a BIG way! If you looking to upgrade from Heresy's to La Scala's I can tell you, you will be in for a huge treat they are definitely some of my favorite speakers!
  5. Yes you guys were right the logo was glued on, I just fixed it. Kinda felt like it was nailed but definitely glued.
  6. I'm powering them with a Marantz SR5011 receiver and a Emotiva XPA-GEN 5 amp I will post pics of the full fronts but I can already say they aren't a perfect match I don't think unless it's the light playing tricks on me.
  7. This is my feeling 100% Not to mention they may be off but they are only off by one number. After everything I went through getting these in the house and all that and the fact that I got them in without getting a scratch on them I'm not risking moving them and damaging them especially since we don't even know where the matching one is at this point. like others have mentioned probably sitting in someones house.
  8. It's saying the top (tweeter and mid portion) should have the same serial number as the bass bin which they do. I'm not sure if everyone is aware but that part actually comes separately and you don't even screw it on or anything, it just sits on top.
  9. Nope they told me they are all sold out of 70th anniversary editions. When I thought I lost one in the shipment fiasco I asked if they would be able to send me another if it never turned up they said no they would just give me a refund because the pair they sold me is the last pair they had.
  10. I don't blame Klipsch for this and honestly I'm not really too concerned about it but honestly they should somehow be kept together as a pair. I was thinking that too, that would have also eliminated the problem of my two getting separated in the first place. Being someone that has a father that was a truck driver though I know having a double pallet is pretty much impossible because it wouldn't fit on any forklift and would make loading onto a truck a lot harder.
  11. Idk this situation i think would be more Onecall's mess up than Klipsch. It looks like they did give onecall matching pairs as I have a pair that is pretty close and onecall did have numerous pairs to start with. I think Onecall confused it but perhaps they didn't know how important that was. In that case maybe Klipsch should have expressed the importance of the matching serials. I don't really know who's to blame but it's only one number off I'd rather have this than a pair come damaged.
  12. Yes, the one that has 45 has it on the top and bottom and the one that has 43 has it on the top and bottom.
  13. Yes, this is what it is. The top's and the bottoms match I just checked. So I guess I have a mismtched pair but it's only by 1 number. It does say on the box the serial number and then to be matched with.. I don't think there is anything I could do about it right now since they seem to be sold out everywhere pretty much. The only place I have found a pair is Audiogon and I already spoke to that guy when i thought one of mine was gone. He said his are definitely matched. Well, Onecall is probably the one that had my matching one and they told me that mine was the last pair they had so someone else has a mismatched pair too. As I said I really don't think it's a big deal but it is unfortunate that such a high ticket item and it would go unnoticed. I think trying to get it straightened out though would be way more trouble than it was worth. Also about the Klipschorn sign, one of them is a little out of place but it is on there tightly. I made sure of that.
  14. They are exactly 1 inch thick. Ya, one thing I just noticed you guys aren't going to believe this honestly I don't really care because I don't ever plan on selling them but the serial numbers on the two I got are not book matched like they are supposed to be.
  15. Yes, I'm not sure if everyone is aware of this but on the 70'th anniversary model the corners are sealed and they don't require corner placement as much as the regular ones.
  16. Ya, you have no idea how many people thought I was absolutely crazy to spend that kind of money on speakers and not just go the used route but I look at it the same way, first of all a new pair will honestly last me the rest of my life and a speaker like this will always be very valuable, especially an anniversary pair. Everyone has their things that bring them joy and nothing gets me more excited than hearing a live performance in my own home whenever I want!
  17. Thank you all for the support they are absolutely amazing! The First album I played was Natalie Merchant Live in New York which is amazing for anyone that hasn't heard it! People are right when they say having the Mid and tweeter horn higher than the La scala's makes a difference and of course the bass response is much better!
  18. I appreciate that but this situation wasn't your fault at all (I'm assuming you work for Klipsch) It was ABF but they did handle it in a quick manner and everything did arrive unharmed and in perfect mint condition so all is good! I will post pictures but everyone is demanding I clean up all the boxes and everything I left, I really haven't even gotten a chance to set them up yet. I really appreciate everyone's support throughout all this. I am sorry for those that might have thought I was acting like a baby. I wonder if perhaps I should apologize to ABF for how rude I was to them.
  19. Woke up this morning to an email from ABF saying over the weekend the shipment showed up at my local facility and they will be delivered tomorrow. Called them up and said I will come get them right now. I GOT EM! Pictures to come soon!
  20. For the most part I have but I did send ABF a pretty nasty email telling them if they can't straighten this out I'm gonna hire an attorney lol which I don't really even know if I could. They would probably just tell me to file a claim and get a refund which onecall has already assured me they will issue me one if they can't find the other one as I mentioned. I really hate losing my temper I'm not that type of person and I think often times it does more harm than good. When I did send them the nasty email though they apologized and said it will most likely turn up by Monday and that they have a pretty good idea where it is. I just hate the way everything is shut down on the weekends! As soon as they tell me they have it though, I am jumping in my truck and getting it i'm not waiting for them to lose it again.
