  1. Can anybody tell me what years this model of Heresy woofer were made ? Thanks Drfish
  2. My loveseat and couch are also red. This was part of the reason for the color of the speakers. For me, I am tired of black speakers and I wanted these to stand out in more ways then one. My wife was a little overwhelmed by the color at first but she thinks they look good now. I have a very understanding wife. Drfish
  3. Thanks. The center is a KLF-C7 and on top of the speakers is smoked glass. The mantle had to be reinforced to handle the weight. There is a pair of Verticals from 1972 on Ebay that have the logo's where I put them so I thought this was the correct place. Drfish
  4. Well, I know red is not everybodys cup of tea but I like them. It has been alot work getting the red paint on just right. The whole thing has been alot of work but also fun and allows me to get into some sort of hobby. These are replacing La Scala's only because they are smaller. I will be having surgery in December and I will never be able to lift the La Scala's again. I do like the midrange vocals on the La Scala's better but what can you do. These are the front speakers in my system as you can see. Surrounds are 88 Cornwalls II and the back surrounds are Chorus 1's. I am now going to start searching for some Cornwall Decorater Vertical's. They were my first choice but I came across these first. Happy Holidays. Drfish
  5. Thanks I can not tell the difference between the two. I have used the foam before in a Heresy project. The only reason I changed it here is because it looked like some mice had lived in it and it was falling apart. It was a real pain to get all of the staples out of the old stuff. I still have one cabinet to do and I am not looking foward to it. Drfish
  6. Here are the reasons. Black is just not for me anymore. Red does happen to be my favorite color but I thought this red would really bring out the contrast between the red and black. I knew that I would have to repaint the horns and put on a grill. Red is not for everyone one but I think it looks good here. Drfish
  7. Yea, I really love them but the kids are rough on the bass bin part in the middle where the edges come together. I thought the Cornwalls could take alot more beating from the kids. I really like the soumd of the Cornwall anyway. This is not the only pair I have or have had. Drfish
  8. I feel I had no choice but to paint these. I had planned for this to be my first veener job but when I won these on Ebay I did not realize they had rounded corners in the front. I did not feel that I could do a good job with the veener because of that reason. Drfish
  9. Picture #2 Forgot the new Klipsch logo's on the front. K-77 Tweeters got new diaphrams ( Bob) and repainted because of oxidation. k-55 are fine except horns were repainted. K-33P woofers seem fine except on one. that I am using a little silicone on a little rip from the inside. Crossovers rebuilt ( Bob) All of the old dampening material has been replaced. ( partsexpress) All in all ony one cabinet is finished. Now I will start working on the next one. I am replacing La Scala's with these. The kids are just to rough for the La Scala's. Thanks for looking. Drfish
  10. Well I started with a pair of 1974 Cornwall Decorater speakers that were not in to bad of shape but needed work. On the cabinets, I sanded them down slightly and repaired all of the dings and what not. They got a coat of primer and then three coats of Cut Ruby paint. Red is either hard to work with or its just me. It was hard getting the streaks out. Then three coats of polycrylic. This was not easy either. The grills are heavy duty from Parts Express. I have three kids !! All of the black parts were sanded down and repainted. In the second picture I will go over the insides. Drfish
  11. Thanks for the information !! Does Klipsch sell the pie slice badges or do I need to find some on Ebay? Thanks Drfish
  12. Hi, I just got a pair of 1974 Cornwall Decoraters and they are missing the badges. I think that it is the badge that came after the pie slice badge. It had the name Klipsch on it and had lines running from left to right on it. I would be interested in buying a pair of them if someone has them. If you want to sell them, please send me a picture of them and a price. DrFish06@aol.com Thanks Peter
  13. I was wondering if anybody on this forum knows any good carpenters here in SoCal. I would like to find one that can build me a pair of Decorater Vertical cornwalls. I only need them to build the cabinets for me. Thanks Drfish
  14. Attn. Popbumper, I emailed you but I am not sure you got it. I am interested in talking to you about the Motorboards or even the whole box. Please email me at Drfish96@aol.com Thanks Peter Drfish
  15. HI, I have decided to try to build some speakers on my own. I have waited for a pair of these to come up and they have but they have been to far away to get. I know that I can get the insides from either Ebay or Bob. I do have some tweeters for the project. I am using La Scala's right now as my fronts but want to go to a Cornwall for the fronts. I already have Cornwall II for the surrounds and chorus I for the rear surround. I would really appreciate if somebody could email me some sort of palns for building these. Thanks Drfish
  16. Well, I will not be getting these. They are already over $3000 and who knows how much they will end up going for. I am more interested in a oak pair anyway. I just thought these were really different. Drfish
  17. I like the white spots also. It makes this pair really different. I am just not sure about the refinishing. I dont think I would be able to do them the justice they deserve. Drfish
  18. Why is it funny looking Rosewood? Drfish
  19. What do you guys think of these? Sorry dont have time how to figure out how to post the link. Its Ebay # 170070880831 I really like them but they do have alot of nicks and chips in them. I am not sure how good I can really make them look with this kind of finish. Thanks Drfish
  20. Where do you live ? Is there a certain type of SVS that you are interested in? Drfish
  21. Well, I relisted them on Ebay. Lowered the price, added the word rare and took away my delivery. We will see what happens this time. Thanks Drfish
  22. I dont want to part them out either but I think I got a little pissed that the high bid was 269.00. Now, what do I think they are worth. Well here is what I think the parts are worth more or less. Woofers 100 pr. Horns and mids 100 pr tweeters 100 pr. crossovers 75-100 ( paid 75 to rebuild) Badges ( not sure this is where this started ) This is guessing since some of this stuff could go for more or less. $450.00 is what I think they are worth. I put alot of hard work into them and that is what I think. I live in Southern California. Drfish
  23. I have been tyring to post the picture but right now it will not let me. As far as I am concerned 350-400 is to cheap for this pair. Refinished and rebuilt crossovers and other. I would rather part them out then let them go for that Drfish
  24. Well, My 1976 Heresy Decoraters did not sell one Ebay. I myself, think that a high bid of 269.00 is an insult. I know I know pickup only does not help but !!! Well anyway I am thinking about selling off all of the parts. I know what most of the parts go for except the pie slice badges. What do you guys think I should ask for them? First speaker of speakers-second of badge Thanks Drfish
