  1. So much for that plan. I had figured out how to add pictures on the old forum. I have no clue how to do it on the new one. Drfish
  2. HI, I have been working on these for the last month and I thought I would post some pics. They are about 95% done. I will be adding matching risers to them. This was my first project and I think they turned out pretty well. The crossovers were also rebuilt by Bob. Thanks Drfish
  3. To Everyone- Since it does not appear that anyone has any black grills for sale, I would like to find out if someone knows what kind of material is used for the panel part of the grill. If you do know what is used can you tell me where to find it. I scored on a pair of 1983 Cornwalls and the bottom of one the grills hashad a mildew problem. Who really knows for sure. I will post some pics later. It has B-3 as crossovers and K-52 for mids. Needless to say, I want to replace the grill. Thanks Peter
  4. To all- I need some black Cornwall grills ( even just one ) If anybody has any to sell can you please let me know. Thanks Peter
  5. Well, I guess it's harder to post a picture then I thought. Can any one tell me what the trick is? Thanks Peter
  6. Hey BS, I have seen those before on the Forum and they are very nice. I will try to send a picture of my project as part of this post. I guess I will have to think about replacing the wire. I don't see any thing visibly wrong with the old ones. I just thought it might make a difference. Thanks Peter
  7. Well, I have been working on a pair of these for the last two weeks now. Refinishing the cabinets, rebuilding the crossovers ( Bob) and such. My question is- Have the speaker wires inside broken down after all this time? If they have, what type of wire would you guys suggest I use? Thanks Peter I will post some pictures later if anyone is interested.
  8. Alright-Someone somewhere must know someone who has one of these center speakers for sale. I will add one to the list. Academy in oak - great condition $500 plus shipping. I am willing to offer more for either of the other two also. Please email me if you have one for sale. Thanks Peter Carter
  9. HI, My room can not be changed around. It is what it is. There must be someone that has one of the speakers that I listed above that might want to sell it. Thanks Peter
  10. Hey guys, These are all the best ways to go but my plasma is hanging over the fireplace. There is not room for a heresy or a single La Scala. I wish there was. I have a pretty good size mantle that will fir one of the speakers that I am after. Thanks Peter
  11. Thanks for the thought on the black one. I am trying to get close to matching My La Scala speakers that are birch. I put pure tung oil on them and it looks like oak. Thanks Peter
  12. To all, These are two of my favorite subjects. However I am serious about this. Recently someone posted that they wanted a KV-4 Center speaker. Well they had one very quickly. I am also looking for two certain types of Klipsch center speakers. I have lost out to a few on ebay for one reason or another. 1) KLF-C7 ( lt. oak, med oak ) Excellent condition. I am offering up tp $450.00 plus shipping to get one. 2) KV-4 ( only came in black ) Excellent condition I am slao offering up to $450.00 plus shipping to get one. I am much more interested in #1 over #2 but who knows. If anyone is willing to part with one of these, please email me with a few pictures and how much you want for it and I will get back to you. Thanks Peter Carter Ebay-Nick97 ( check me out if you want )
  13. Questions for all of you. I have La Scala's for the front mains and I am thinking about having Heresy's as my surrounds. I would like to know if this is a good match or not and why. There is a pair of decorator Heresy's on Ebay and I am determined to have some decorator's of any type. I lost out on the pair of cornwalls and I am thinking about the Heresy's. Thanks Peter
  14. I was going to use it for the center between my LaScala's but I dont think I am going to bid on it. Since the guy has not emailed me back, I am not going to take the risk. I will just wait for another one to come up. Thanks Peter
  15. HI To Everyone, There is one of these up for auction on ebay right now. In oak. Just what I want. There is one little problem. My question is, when you ship from Canada to the United States is there any sort of tax or extra charge for this. I have tried emailing the guy but he has not back to me. This in its self makes me a little nervous. He has alot of good feedback but I am not sure what to do. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Peter
  16. If these are the same ones I was bidding on, I am kind of glad you won them. Well maybe not glad . After the shipping and the new woofers and the rebuilt crossovers, I would have been into them for about $1180.00. Well I would have done it anyway. They sure did look nice in the pictures. Can you please post a picture of them at some point. Enjoy. Peter ( nick97)
  17. This is my first set of La Scala speakers and I have a question about the information on the the tag. Under type it has LS which I know, BR which I know stands for birch, TG which I dont know what this stands for. Could someone tell me ? These were made in 1988. The guy also told me that they were unfinished but it seems there is some sort of finish on them. Can I tell by the type if these came unfinished or not ? Thanks Peter
  18. I know that both of these receivers a very nice but I need to pick one or the other. I have Klipsch speakers and subs. I want 6.1. All channel stereo. I notice that onkyo is THX certified. Is this good to have ? Will you guys talk me into one or the other ? Thanks Peter
  19. Thanks for the help. The denting is not in the dust cap but the copper part. They say it sounds just fine but I am not sure of that. Thanks Peter
  20. If one were to buy a pair of these and have to replace the 8" speaker in one because it was dented. How would one do this ? Thanks Peter
  21. Hi everyone, This is my first post here. I am new to this. I have one KSW-12 sub hooked up to my sony 975 reciever. I have one output with a y connector going into the left and right rca imputs. I am thinking about adding another sub and I dont want to run another cable from the reciever which has two outputs. Can I put a y cable on a y cable and run one to the first sub and then run the other side of the y cable to the sub and use another y cable for the second sub. Will this degrade the signal to much or will this work just fine. Thanks for any help. Peter
