  1. The 450 is listed as 12db/octive. What is it for the standard CSW?
  2. What are the real differences between these two cross overs?
  3. No, all new with B&C 120, 85 and 3015lf with new universal crossover.
  4. I figured you had those mounted by now. I will come over and get those. Dont think ill have time this weekend, but i will next. Ill give ya a call as soon as i get a chance. Thanks
  5. Honeybadger, i think you are correct as i have read before that the universals do use the swamping resistor. Thanks
  6. That sucks. He's quitting or just cutting back for now?
  7. I built the grills from fiber board. 3/16 stuff i think. Bought at home Depot. I think the grill material was from Gulford Maine. I have another set i'm doing in off white right now.
  8. I'm happy to hear that. It's looking like the laid back mid horn and the crossover. Might have to have Dean build me some.
  9. Yes Al built these to my component specs. Yes, attenuated at 11 right now. 9 thru 12 sounded good to my ear, but just too laid back at low and mid volume. I think the woofer SPL is 96 for the 4 ohm version.
  10. No, the cornwalls has k77 k57 and k33 with a b crossover. All components are new to this cabinet.
  11. Just to be clear the crossovers are the ALK universals CSW custom build for these speaker components. I could wake the neighbors 2 blocks over, but it would take a big twist of the volume knob to do it.
  12. The cross over was designed for my current drivers. I build these 20 years ago as vertical cornwalls. Now cornscala.
  13. I have not, but they both sound very laid back at low and mid volume. I can make them sound good if i run them at 100db, but it takes a lot of power to do so, about 1/2 turn on the volume knob. This EL34 amp is a power house and does not take much volume to make any heritage speaker loud.
  14. The stock drivers were K57 and i think those are 16ohm. I checked my DE85 drivers and they measure 6ohm although they are listed as 8.
  15. I no longer have the K33e's and yes is does sound like the polarity is reversed. I did check the polarity on everything and it checks ok. I did not try switching polarity.
  16. I have the mid attenuated at 11 and the 120 at 6. I believe the cap is 33 400v. according to B&C web site the DE85 is 108db and 8ohm.
  17. I had the horn size wrong, think it is the 11x17. I don’t have them here. Only 2 pics I have and not very good.
  18. I do not have the original xover as they were used in my super heresy. I have suspected the woofers as well, but they do test 4ohm. I got a good deal on these 3015lf woofers thru avatar speaker, but they arrived with no decal labels identifying them at all. I am suspicious of this. May have to buy another set of woofers. The tweet is a B&C DE120. Thanks
  19. The zxpc horn is a 11x7 open horn. I don't know, but maybe the drivers are just not as efficient as what's used in the Heritage line. A 1/4 turn on the volume knob was all it took to hit 100db levels with the Cornwalls. The Cornscala's at 1/4 turn are at 75db output.
  20. Since building my Cornscala's which were a Cornwall conversion I'm not liking them much. They sound way laid back compared to the 600 in your face mid horn. Have any of you using the large mid horns noticed this with the Cornscala? Using the zxpc horn with a B&C85. Seems like i have to turn the volume up much further than my Cornwalls or Super Heresy require. Not near as efficient as a typical Klipsch Heritage. Not sure if this is typical of the large mid horn or not. Other thing is using a ALK CSW cross over adjusted to my liking, but still laid back. Maybe the cross over is the culprit or the DE85?
  21. Yes, very good skills and tools as well. They look stunning. What is the model of the bass driver you used?
  22. Never worked on a gear change. I have Phils in clio do mine.
  23. Glad you understand. Yes, very busy right now. I’ll get with you as soon as things slow down.
