  1. Nice long letter Justin; looks like I got your number. Now how about getting the real numbers and lets not waste time with your "logic". respectfully, Audry This message has been edited by Audry on 02-19-2002 at 09:27 PM
  2. Hey Justin: You apparently are the great defender at this forum and that's great. I will presume you do not have access to the actual failure rate statistics that you present. So why do you you do it? Certainly you would want to be sure of your facts before investing so much of your personal credibility as a staunch advocate of a product. Let's look at the real numbers and I hope you and Klipsch will be vindicated. Let's look at Klipsch vs. the industry standard for computer media speaker systems. 3. There are not even a tiny fraction of the complaints with the Synergy, Reference or Heritage lines. There are definite manufacturing and design problems here. I work in manufacturing and understand the type and frequency of these problems: they have very real causes. These problems are not accidents; they are the inevitable consequences of shortcut product development and cheap offshore manufacturing with inadequate oversite (China is no bargin unless your the CEO). If these were tires or medical supplies the Klipsch Corp. would be on the front page of every major newspaper but it's just computer speakers and young peoples money; maybe us young Americans are just a bunch of pushovers. See ya. This message has been edited by Audry on 01-22-2002 at 10:37 PM
  4. Hey cdternie, What's your problem. Big Beans got the same right as you to be here. I've been reading a lot on the ProMedia boards and Big Beans post are very much on point. What's happening at Klipsch with this product line is symtomatic of a very scarry trend in manufacturing. Cut cost at any cost. Chinese labor, medoicre design manufacture and quality control seems to be just fine for the undiscriminating American consumers. The Swiss and Germans gota be laughing there asses off at us. See ya. 5. Hi everybody. This thread is wonderful. Thank you so much for your advice. I feel adopted. This weekend my roommate and I are going to check out the speaker situation. She is a loud rocker so we'll be giving the salespeople the sweats. We're (my roommate and I) looking for a Klipsch dealer and she suggested we also check out Bose speakers (I heard that Bose Blows). I found a dealer that has Coincident, Theil and B&W speakers that looked nice but I didn't hear them. So we'll see what happens. Thanks again Big Bean, Mr.Ear, Boa and all you guys, your great. 6. I really haven't decided about speakers. I have a lot of my parents old records and really want to listen to them. They are in really nice condition but the turntable doesn't have a needle - probably should get a new turntable it is vintage (in the bad way). Turntables have a sexy quiet precision about them. I like a lot of speakers. Klipsch are nice, my boss has the big corner models and they are unbelievable but they don't make those anymore. Seems like everything I like is no longer made. I do not want to build a big video hi fi set up as they seem a little juvenile, I like real hi fi. I guess it's like sailboats vs. motorboats (class vs. no class you know). The more I learn about this stuff the more difficult it is to decide. I appreciate how well informed you guys are about this. I have to go to work now. See you tonight if your still here. 7. I really like nice stereos. I don't know a lot about the technology though. I have decided to build a nice system and am considering a used Mesa Barron amplifier. It's really big and a good deal. My roommates brother thinks I'm nuts but this thing is awsome. He says they don't make it any more. Would that be a problem? Thanks, Audry
  8. Why are tube stereos better than transistor stuff? Thanks, Audry
