Has anyone used Anthem SS for HT? Is Anthem SS a good match for Klipsch? DeanG, I know you love Anthem Tube stuff, have you considered using several Amp 1's for HT? Thanks in advance, MikeW
  2. Thanks for the input! Right now, I'm in the wiring planning stage for 7.1 Media. Be a while before I can make the upgrade for a receiver with this capability anyway and hopefully by then DVD's will have 7.1 as standard format. Unfortunately, I lack rear right wall (need to put a door in for a hallway) where a second set of rear surrounds would most likely go. Which leaves me with only one option, ceiling mounted speakers? For now, I think I'll wire for in-ceiling speakers, as it will be less intrusive. A question on speaker cable length: When wiring for second set of surrounds should I keep the speaker cable length the same as the first set of surrounds? Thanks Again for the input, MikeW
  3. Does the RC7 and RS7 make a better over all match with RF3's? Looking just at their specifications One might think so. I guess that's why RF5's are available. If so, is it worth coin? MikeW
  4. I've been gone a while from the Klipsch Forum. It's good to see the same old crew is still around and some new people as well. Much of my time has been spent moving and getting settled in a new home (finishing the basement)....which brings me to a couple of questions: My entertainment / home theatre room is approximately 32'x11'x8' (not the greatest of dimensions). Side surrounds will probably be mounted at around 12'. Unfortunately, I don't have a rear wall until the 32' mark, making it difficult to mount rear surrounds. That being said, I can only mount speakers from the ceiling. What Klipsch speaker (keep in mind I have the RF 3 Home Theatre Speaker package) should I buy to complete a 7.1 system? Are my best options 2 RC3 or 2 RS3 or built in speakers (2 RCR/W 5)? Next, at what distance should I mount these speakers? ie 17' Thanks, MikeW
  5. Klipsch is already selling in a Mass Market Place in Canada at London Drugs. Guess where I bought my set?....London Drugs!! London Drugs gave me the Best Service of all the audio stores I went to. I have no complaints, MikeW
  6. TheEar, When you build your RF7 Centre, can you take step by step pictures of your new creation? I would like to see how you did it. I may try it with an RF 3 setup. As for your system..IT'S GOING TO ROCK!!!! MikeW
  7. jazman, I think it's great that Klipsch is responding to the much anticpated return of the Heritage line, even for us newbies!! JimGs comment is was what most of us have been waiting for. I can't wait to have an ear full of Heritage sound at my local audio retailer and yes JimG, then at home. Thanks for the update JimG. BobG, as for the tube amp, you can count me in. I'm considering a second room just for music powered by a tub amp and the Heritage line of speakers. Why not sell a package deal? If you buy this line of speakers we'll throu in a Limited Edition Heritage Tube Amp signed and dated by yours truly Paul Klipsch. I'm about to state what you and many other people already know.....I think Klipsch is on verge of becoming the next Harley of the audio world. I believe the answers lie right here in these forums. The Klipsch Forum in its self is brilliant. Like Harleys' presence at rallys this forum is your opportunity to see who and what your customers want. For me I want todays technology wraped up in yesterdays looks. The tub amp has long history with Klipsch, I think if build on this history people will be there to support you, especially the baby boomer audiophiles. MikeW
  8. Thanks for the input. I'll keep looking for now. By the way, the Menthor is available at eBay if anyone is interested. http://cgi.ebay.ca/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1338103174 MikeW
  9. Has anyone used this type of tube amp? With all the talk about tubes in the Klipsch Forums, I was thinking about giving them a try. Ill be pairing the amp to a pair RF 3s. MikeW
  10. Are the RF7's the new reigning King of the nonHeritage series?Text Is this new flagship model the best Klipsch has ever done? MikeW

    I hate SONY!!

I've been playing around with the toe in and I think I've reduced the bite to me my ears. Rather than a 40-45 degree angle I'm in at a close 30. The angle seems to work well with my small living room (which is going to change). I haven't bi-wired the RF 3's, yet. I'm in process of buying a new home, so I'm going to play the wait see before I invest into more Monster Cable. MikeW Sony's O.K!!
  12. JimG, Thanks for your response. I think product development is not your only forte, your response was also GOOD SERVICE. I appreciate your advice on a nonKlipsch product and to me this is good service on your part. And I will always pay good money for excellent service. When the time comes, when my better half says "YES", I will audition Mondial products. Aragon, at the moment, is way out of my league and I don't believe there is Mondial supplier in Edmonton, yet!! One thing I do like about ARCAM is the upgrade features of the A22 and P25. ARCAM A22 and P25, will allow me to enjoy stereo music today and the opportunity to upgrade in the future for Home Theatre (adding Dave and another channel). JimG, if Klipsch is willing and able and the ARCAM components are just lazing around collecting dust.... maybe you would be interested in parting with them to a friendly Canuck? (I had to try) Thanks Again, MikeW
  13. Thanks for the replies. I do own the RF 3's and I can't complain. For now RF 3's make an excellent introductory system into Klipsch and a great start to a 50/50 Music/HT. The reason I asked the above three questions was to give me something to ASPIRE too. I would love to have a two room system: The Listening Lounge and Home Theatre, similiar than that of HornEds', who wouldn't. I'm a bargain shopper and having a list of speakers that Forum Users recommend will of great help to me and maybe others. There might also be Klipsch speaker out there that I should stay clear from. Does anyone need snow....sure have alot up here in Edmonton!!? MikeW
  14. JimG, I read a posting that was made in July of last year stating that Klipsch used ARCAM for product development. The Topic: Arkam vs. Marantz for RF3's was posted in the 2 Channel Audio forum on July 20, 2001. Why did Klipsch decide to use ARCAM products? Also, are you able recommend a particular ARCAM product(s) that appeared to be well suited to the Klipsch line of speakers? MikeW
