  1. Hey guys looking for a little info. Can someone tell me which subs were built and sold with the Rf-62ii, Rb-81ii Rs-62ii and Rc-62ii ect.. as a matching set-up? some one had told me it was the sw-110, sw-112, sw-115 with the black woofer driver. Is this the correct info that I have received ?? Right now I am running a pair of r-10sw subs but, feel I would rather have the correct matching subs for the cabinets I am currently running which I have listed above. thank you in advance for your help.
  2. Metro is right imo. That's pretty close to how I have my set-up. rs-35's on the sides are slightly behind the back of the couch, ( actually firing directly across the back of it ) and about 15 inches down from the ceiling, rb-61ii's in the back as shown in the link posted at ear level, against the back wall and about 3 feet away from the back of the couch and around a foot apart, sub is actually behind the couch due to not being broken in yet , ( planning on another sub by Christmas and configuration will go to the diagram posted in the link for 7.2 ) the rc-35 center is 11'07" inches from the listening position at ear level and the left and right r-26f's are 11'05" from the listening position at the 45 degree angle as shown at ear level. I did a lot of different configurations and ended up back in this set-up position as it definitely seamed to work the best. ( but I have 3 different types of reference series speakers so its an odd set-up to begin with ) If you google 7.1 or 2 surround sound speaker placement , there are a lot of helpful tips on there as far as pics. and diagrams as well. But the veterans here are very knowledgeable and know what they are talking about and haven't steered me wrong yet.
  3. Oh wow, and I was going to buy that when it first listed and clicked to watch it till I got the funds together for it. Then I went back to ebay to get it and it was gone. I have since gotten another one but, Have been thinking of a 6.1 set-up with a 35 in the front and one the back. Just not sure if I am brave enough to spend the bucks and take that plunge to try it yet. I have a set of rb-25's coming to try back there first but. Have 2-3 different configurations in mind. If I decide to go that route and yours is still for sale I will definitely get it. that's a good looking piece. looks clean and in good shape. Good luck with the sale.
  4. I have been using a set-up mic ( not sure what it is ) thatwas purchased of ebay and did not come with my pioneer receiver to set up my home theater set-up. I have noticed that ALL my db's settings always end up at -10 db's , and with some range in the trim settings of + 0.5 to +6 pending the speaker which I'm guessing is more of a normal set. I always use full auto setting for the calibration and I always use full phasing when I calibrate as well. . I was wondering if some of the veterans of the forum here have seen this as well during set-up or is this somewhat of an abnormal thing ?? I am running a pioneer sc-07 a/v receiver, rc-35 center, r-26f's for left and right, rs-35's for sides and rb-15's for back surround but that will be changing to rb-25's in the next day or two, and a r-10sw sub. Will be changing the fronts to either rb-25's rb-35's,rf-25's, or rf-35's soon too. Depends on how the rb-25's sound with different placements positions when they arrive. If this is abnormal behavior can you recommend a set-up mic for this receiver or a possible solution to the problem if there even is one ?? Thanks in advance for the advice. John.
  5. How much have I spent !! Oh My !!! Well it started last summer with 2 Cerwin Vega m-80's $200, 2 Cerwin Vega at-12's $160, a Pioneer vsx-d704s $105, all in the garage, A pioneer vsx-d603s $95 and a set of jbl t-100's for free saved from a trash run interception as they were about to be thrown away, just needed the woofers refoamed which was $50 for the kit and a couple hours of peace and quiet working on them in the garage enjoying music which was priceless , and is the now the spare bedroom setup. The man cave setup is just about complete now with 2 klipsch r-26f's $420 , a klipsch rc-3ii $150 , 2 klipsch rs-35's $150, 2 klipsch rb-61ii's $218 , a klipsch r-10sw $200 , another sub of the same coming soon for hopefully about the same cost and all powered by a pioneer sc-07 $350 , a nice small 7.2 configuration. And for extras, Hmmmm lets see, a spare set or klipsch rs-3's $190 , spare set of klipsch tangent t-5000's $250 , a spare pioneer vsx-1015tx $150, and a few more pieces which I'm guessing at around $200 more or so. Not including the pieces I have bought and just not be satisfied with and resold. ( I'm guessing another $500-600 more ). And I still have 1 more 9.2 system to build in the downstairs living room which I plan to take my time and do tons of research before I tackle that. Good thing my wife thinks I shop at goodwill huh
  6. Derrickdj1 I did go with a Klipsch R-10SW and in taking your advice I am planning to get another one soon for behind the couch position , I was worried about the size a little at first but it does quite well for what it is as did the rb-61ii's as well in the back surround position. I wanted to wave a hand at you and thank you for the advice. Much appreciated.
  7. ok, Thank you for the info derrickdj1. I had never considered the use of 2 subs but that definitely makes sense. I only have 1 sub-out on my sc-07 , could that be pigtailed from the receiver and run to both subs ?? And yes I'm hoping to go smaller . The a/v room is big enough for small footprint towers but, I want to hold out for another set of rs-35's I'm thinking at this point . Both sets in the sides and back and another sub would be space saving. I could actually probably go with a nice 10" sub in the back and make due with the audiosource sub, for now anyway. I did pull the audiosource apart and help it out some. rubber feet, extra bracing,12 gauge wire, caulking and poly fill. Made a big difference and it actually can drown out the rest of the set-up if I open the settings up and give it a little extra dbs and still sound clean, but it needed feet, it wouldn't sit still .Setting it up with the mic for the receiver actually surprised me on how much room I had leftover to play with the settings. I figured the trim and db settings would be close to maxed out trying to run with the rest of the set-up. but, trims set at 2.5 and db set at 4.5 and crossover is set at 100, it blends really well. Am I correct in assuming I don't really want to go any lower then 100 watts per channel continuous on the rs speakers in the back ?? The sc-07 is 140 per channel. my goal is to not run it over half volume to help keep the heat down.
  8. Thank you willand for the info and the welcoming. The 61 ii's are probably going to get away from me as they are bidding up out of my range quickly. So now I guess I'm open to suggestions as far as what to stick in the back or on the side with what I have and save money up for that. I know the rs-3's are just not quite going to do the job so they are getting sold. I have actually thought about parting with the Tangents to recoup money for another set of towers for the front or sides. Maybe another set of r-26f's or a set of the synergy or icon series towers. But I'm not sure how the 2 different series would work together or which one's to even try . I know I don't want to go lower then 100 watts per channel continuous with that big of an a/v receiver and would like to stay close to the sensitivity rating as the rest of my cabinets at 97 dbs ( maybe as low as 95 dbs if they will work ). The sc-07 from pioneer I'm running is a little older but, was a better step up for me as I was using a pioneer vsx 1015tx before that but I'm actually satisfied with the receiver for the most part. ( Trying to do the best I can with my budget. ) Any other suggestions as to what I could put in the mix??? my budget is around $250-300. I am hoping to get $250 out of the tangents to put with that if I can sell them. That's probably top dollar for those in my area on craigslist.
  9. Hello All, I am new to the klipsch forum here and was wondering if I could get some help from some of the veterans here. I have a 7.1 surround sound set-up. All Klipsch speakers except for the sub. ( Audio sorce sw 15 for now as temp till I can get a good 12-15 inch klipsch sub , budget wise probably a 12", any suggestions for that are definitely appreciated ) I have Tangent t-5000 for fronts, rc3 ii for center, r-26f's for surround sides and rs-35's for rear surrounds. All run by a Pioneer sc-07 a/v receiver 140watts x 7. Its sound pretty good actually except it seams like something is missing, Or maybe its actually just me. I was wondering if the fact that all my cabs are 97 dbs except for the tangents are 99 dbs and not from the reference line. Is there that much of a difference in the fact that its 2 different breeds of klipsch and the db difference in sensitivity rating ?? The Tangents are in excellent shape with all original drivers. I have done some swapping out and put the r-26f's in front , same center, rs-35's on the sides and rs-3's in the back ( 95dbs sensitivity ). but I have noticed now it seams a little empty in the back now. I find myself jacking up the rear settings to get an better sound from that area and it works but, still lacks a little there as well now. I found a set or 61 ii's for around $200 plus shipping. would that help improve on the back section even though they are only rated at 95dbs sensitivity? I have noticed that the r-26f's, rc ii and the rs-35's are all rated at 97 dbs and actually sound good and even together no matter where they are placed in the room. 15' x 13' by the way. Any input and suggestions are deeply appreciated.
